Northumberland Hub caps fine day
W
RVS volunteers, staff and service users had a great treat when the Duchess of Northumberland (above) and Ruth Markland, WRVS Chair of the Board of Trustees, came to visit the new Northumberland Hub. The first port of call for the duchess was the new social centre in Rothbury where she chatted to our service users and volunteers about the great work they do in the local community. Dedicated volunteers Later that day Ruth Markland met other staff and volunteers at the Getabout community transport service and presented Helen Edes with a clasp for her 39 years of service, and a bouquet of flowers to thank her for all her dedication to WRVS. Service Delivery Manager Carol
Nevison says: “It was a great day very much enjoyed by all. Well done to Roz Tinlin, the Northumberland Hub Locality Manager, and the staff and volunteers for organising such a successful day. Above: To mark her retirement from WRVS after 39 years, Helen Edes (centre) was presented with a bouquet by Ruth Markland (right) and Carol Nevison.
