Theme Essay – The Outsiders "The Outsiders" identifies the 60's, illustrating the violence between groups, often involving a group's social class. For instance, the violent tensions between the Socs and Greasers lead to Bob's death, Johnny's death, as well as many injuries throughout both gangs. The book "The Outsiders" is written by S.E. Hinton and is portrayed through the eyes of a high school student in Tulsa, OK where S.E. Hinton grew up. Hinton began writing "The Outsiders" in 1965 at the age of 17 and the book was finally published in 1967 when she was 19. The difference in perspective upon the society and social class creates issues throughout "The Outsiders" and since the Socs and Greasers assume the problems will be solved with violence, they take action. The difference in social class definitely took its toll on the two of these gangs. The Soc's and Greaser's opinion would change from with experiences, but for the most part it was a clash for who owned the town. The Socs were the "good guys" and the Greasers were the "troublemakers" of town, although this was definitely not the case but because of the unchanging prejudice opinions were placed on both of the groups it would not change. For example, Ponyboy explained that maybe the Greasers and Socs aren't so different after all. The social issue I selected to address within my paper is Homelessness. In Milwaukee, it's a sad reality for many families and individuals. My mother raising two children on her own, as a child I personally experienced this before. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, we see different topics such as coming of age, gender roles, segregation, as well as the two major topics which are racism and social inequality in Maycomb. Throughout the book Lee shows us that social inequalities and racism towards people of color and poor folks was very frequent in Maycomb. Lee uses the Tom Robinson's trial, the Ewells and the Cunninghams to show how people of color were highly treated less than compared to white people, but even among White people there was prejudice. It also makes up for some of the states that can't plant crops or do as much farming due to their environment and/or landscape. Another positive is if there is a loss of crops in other parts of the United States, Iowa could carry the weight of those lost crops but it can also be a negative because if Iowa is one of those states that is experiencing the loss of crops then that is a big portion of the corn and soybeans being planted for that year. Another negative would be only being able to farm for a certain part of the year because you only plant two crops which could lead to less jobs and a decrease in the state of Iowa's economy. The immune cells and antibodies attack viruses and bacteria or the toxins they produce, stopping them from multiplying and causing disease. Scientists take many approaches to designing vaccines. In this essay, I interview subject (x) based on topics of political issues of (a) role of government, (b) economic, (c) social, (d) military and (e) environment. I interview and analyzed responses to determine what extent does my interviewee conform to ideological categories of left or right. The interviewee is a white male 65 year's old, retiree and resides in Bayside, Wisconsin. The interviewee has a bachelor's degree, divorced, once a brewery worker, has one son and is currently disabled. The questioned presented first a general and broad. I then relayed a relevant current event question that tied in with the overall subject. This approach I discovered became useful in determining what ideology the subject sided with.

In regards to the role of government the interviewee tended to be one sided revealing leftist or the Democratic ideology. I asked, "Do you support a large government or a small government?" The subject responded that the "government needs to be larger and more involved in regulation to end corruption." In this question the subject's response sides with the left, "which believes in expanded government, and the right believes in limited government" (Hey). The respondent said the "he supports it and it doesn't bother me or offend me, as long as they are happy their rights should not be denied." While differences in racial/ethnic prejudices have been explored extensively in past literature (e.g. Bobo and Zubrinksy's 1996, study of differential prejudices directed toward Hispanic and Black individuals), little U.S. research has investigated how attitudes toward lesbians, gays, bisexual men, bisexual women, and male–to–female (MtF) and female–to–male (FtM) transgender (henceforth "LGBT") may differ ( Marcus, 2015).

Social justice that is face among the LGBT is discrimination. Variations in family structures include single–parent families, step families, blended families, and intergenerational families. Lesbian, gay, and bisexual families experience a special risk of discrimination.A major problem gay people face is homophobia–an extreme and irrational fear of lesbian and gay people simply because they are lesbian and gay.
