Marijuana is a big topic these days. Many people want to make sure that marijuana stays illegal. Yet they do not know all the facts about marijuana. They just think that marijuana is bad. I believe that marijuana should be made legal. First of all, marijuana refers to the dried leaves and flowers of the cannabis plant, which contain the narcotic chemical THC at various potencies. It is smoked or eaten to produce the feeling of being "high". Marijuana has been used for thousands of years for medical, social, relaxation, and religious reasons. The government states that over 20 million Americans still smoke marijuana. You can say that marijuana affects your health, but marijuana is less dangerous than tobacco and people smoke less of it at a time. Or you can eat the plant instead of smoking it, which can lower health risks by a lot. Another way to reduce health risks is by reducing smoking amounts. There is no proof that marijuana causes health problems that can lead to death or sexual programs, but like alcohol, it is not recommended for children or teenagers to use. This is simply because children and teenagers are in the process of growing up, and it would not be a good idea to smoke anything or drink alcohol. Advantages of Legalizing Marijuana

Marijuana use is on the rise, especially among teenagers and young adults. With the recent laws passed in eight states about legalizing medical marijuana , many stand divided when it comes to this never ending debate, but I firmly believe that this miracle working drug should be legalized throughout the United States. The main idea behind legalizing drugs is it's medical advantages. Marijuana is said to have many uses as healing drug. Marijuana being used as medicine has been studied for many years. In many cultures it is used as medicine and stems back many generations. The first recorded use of marijuana as medicine was in China. It has been said that in Pen Tsao Ching during the first or second century, boiled hemp compound was used as an anesthetic for surgical patients. The compound is said to have many uses including, clearing the blood, cooling temperature, clearing fluxes, undoing rheumatism and discharging pus from patients. China isn't the only country to use this drug in early times it was introduced in Southeast Asia in the sixteenth century. Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam are said to have current uses of marijuana for medicine. In Cambodia they have an enormous list of uses, including, treating malaria, reliving asthma, calming the nerves, regulating the heart and treating paralysis. In Thailand, it's used in folk medicine as well as in the official medical reports. In folk medicine, people dry the leaves and then boil them to treat migraines and dizzy spells.

Wether you call it Hemp, Mary Jane, Pot, Weed; it doesn't matter. It is still Cannabis Sativa, or cannabis for short. And it is still illegal. The use of marijuana as an intoxicant in the United States became a problem of public concern in the 1930s. Regulatory laws were passed in 1937, and criminal penalties were instituted for possession and sale of the drug. "Marijuana" refers to the dried leaves and flowers of the cannabis plant, which contains the non–narcotic chemical THC at various potencies. It is smoked or eaten to produce the feeling of being "high." The different strains of this herb produce different sensual effects, ranging from a sedative to a stimulant.

There are over 60 chemicals in marijuana which may have medical uses. It is relatively easy to extract these into food or beverage, or into some sort of lotion, using butter, fat, oil, or alcohol. Opinions on the Use of Marijuana Marijuana is the most widely used drug in the world today. Is marijuana as dangerous as it is made out to be. A large variety of different people have many different opinions depending on their professions. Many doctors disagree with each other and the subject is one of their most controversial topics. Also marijuana as an illegal drug is more wide spread in the U.S. today than it ever has been before. These reasons are closely related to the abuse of marijuana. A lot of the reasons are closely related, or are the same reasons people become alcoholics. There are other reasons people use marijuana such a medicinal use. The drug can be used for many medical problems, some of which are very extravagant. Such as some people with cancer use marijuana to be able to tolerate their chemotherapy. " Cancer patients on chemotherapy often suffer severe nausea. Marijuana is also used in AIDS patients. AIDS patients suffer from many things one of which is weight loss. " Many people with HIV have massive weight loss or wasting that can be fatal. Someone with Multiple Sclerosis is very incompetent and is in desperate need of anything that can help them in any way.
