NEWS FROM AND FOR THE CONGREGATION --Be sure to be in church this Sunday, May 29, 10:45 AM, as we mark the Memorial Day Weekend by especially remembering those faithful people of our congregation who passed away during the last year; Ethel Voorhees, Bill Presley, Joy Chapman, Lillian Brandt, Mazie Archibald, David Wolfe, and Frank Fry. --Thanks again to the choir for all their faithful music these past 12 months! We are always so much "richer" because of their music! To Choir Director Ron Apperson, Organist Ginny Trapp, and to every member of the choir, our great appreciation! --Speaking of music, the Diaconate voted to make it their project for the next year, the choosing of, and raising funds for, new Hymnbooks to replace our ancient Pilgrim Hymnals. --And further speaking of music: We would love to have Special Music during our worship services this summer! Please talk to Mike about a date for you! --So good to see John Thomas back in church already! He is making great progress from his leg surgery, and is back in his longtime home at Samaritan Village. --Thanks again to the Youth Group for leading the Worship Service on Sunday, May IS! It was also a great pleasure to honor our five graduating High School Seniors. --Thanks to the congregation as always for your support of the One Great Hour Of Sharing. This year's total special offering was, at last report, $510. --Looking ahead: Note for your future plans that during the last week of June, we will be publishing a two-month July-August issue of the Wright Ups. AND, be thinking about attending a very special edition of our annual Idaho Association UCC Fall Meeting, September 23-24 in Challis. Hosted by our Community UCC church there, the event will take place at the nearby beautiful Living Waters Ranch and Retreat Center. Full details in next month's newsletter. LUAU! LUAU! LUAU! What great fun we'll all have again this year on Saturday, June 18, when we host and enjoy our Annual Luau and Silent Auction. Some further notes: -Buy your tickets soon, and take a packet of tickets to sell to friends and family! donating something special for the Silent Auction.

I"

And consider

--Thanks again to Lupe and John Tauati and their big extended family for the enormous amount of planning, time, and work they donate to the church each year. Their food, their dancing, their everything arejust wonderful! --A new addition to the festivities this year: During the dinner hour, we will be entertained by the I Boise Ukulele Group. --And, let's all make this an "'INVITING EVENT"! That is, invite friends and family to be with us not just for the fun, but also with the idea that we introduce others to Wright Church, and share with them the joy of being disciples of Jesus in our congregation! Thanks!

Stewardship Message

from Carl Van slyke

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"

Mt 6:21

This was the theme of our stewardship campaign last fall.

I do believe these

words to be true based on where our budget stands today. Since we are now one-third (I cannot believe it) through 2011, I thought I would take this opportunity to bring you an update on the Church's General Fund budget and the progress we are making toward the goals that we set for ourselves in January at the Annual congregation meeting. We set our goals high---total General Fund Expenses of $ 123,218, total estimated income of $ 111,391 with a resulting negative balance of $ 11,827. We proposed some real stretches on the income side of the budget. How are we doing? For the first four months (33 %) of the year this is where we are: INCOME 12 month Budget

SUMMARY On a four month basis, the Church has received 35 % of the budgeted pledged income, 39 % of the budgeted unpledged income, and 40 % of the budgeted total income. Unoledaed income includes contributions from oledaina units above their pledge. We need to encourage attendance and participation in the Silent Auction and Luau on June 18. This is a major fund raiser in support of the Church's programs. Expenses are being monitored and watched closely. We are thankful for the special gifts and contributions that have helped to meet our budget for the year. KEEP IT UP!!! If you have any questions please contact Janice Aagaaid Oi Carl Van Slyke. 0.

Notes From The Board Dear Lord, give us the strength, courage and wisdom to lead your Church. In a devotion inspired by Lois Taylor, we opened our monthly Board meeting. We all need strength, courage and wisdom to live ull. lives as Christians. Knowing God will provide these needs, we conducted the business of our Church. Our confirmation class continues. We have a fine group of young people who are completing training regarding the beliefs and history our Church. We look forward to welcoming them as the newest members of our Church on Sunday; June 12; Our summer celebration is set for June 18th• Come join the fun of our Luau. Tickets are now available, bring your family and invite a guest. We will be having a silent auction. Do you have something interesting for the auction? Would you like to bid on something interesting? Pilgrim Cove thanks you for the coffee mugs. Ask and you shall receive! We can always use a few more. Spring comes late in the high country, but it is coming to the Camp. Do you have a weekend you can spend preparing the Camp for the summer season? Any of Pilgrim Cove Board members can provide details. All single persons are invited to join the "Wright Ones". H you would like to participate Rivers or Robin Canning. Congratulations

to all our Graduates.

see Carol

Good Luck and God's Speed in your future endeavors.

Respectfully Submitted, WiH Patterson, Board Chair
