TRAINING WITH WRIGHT HASSALL AND CONDUCT CHANGE

Tina Chander, Partner and Head of Employment Law at Wright Hassall LLP, and Nicki Eyre, Founder and Director of Conduct Change, have teamed up to combat the rising number of bullying and harassment cases in the workplace through training sessions These sessions will enhance individuals’ confidence in identifying and dealing with bullying and harassment in the workplace whilst providing hands-on solutions
In a nationally representative survey of 2,135 people, Wright Hassall found that almost one in two people believe that their workplace tolerates discriminatory banter at least some of the time (45%), and 33% of people wouldn't recommend a job at their organisation It was also found that the most common reason for not reporting this type of behaviour is that the person believed nothing would be done
Having experienced bullying in a previous organisation, Nicki knows first-hand the impact of a toxic relationship Since that time, she has dedicated her career to raising awareness of the impact of bullying as well as offering practical and pragmatic solutions to organisations who want to improve the way that they handle bullying and toxic behaviour
She recognises the scale of the problem at both an organisational and individual level and has a particular interest in using a trauma informed approach to deal with workplace bullying and harassment cases
Tina and Nicki firmly believe that awareness training is a key part of the solution To actively encourage employees to speak honestly about incidents of bullying and harassment, employers must ensure that all employees have received adequate training Increasing awareness as to what behaviours constitute bullying and harassment, and their potential impact, can prevent such behaviours occurring Training also lets employees know what they can do if they are experiencing bullying and harassment
With this in mind, Tina and Nicki’s joint training will educate both employers and employees on the legal and emotional aspects of workplace bullying and harassment
