What is Jiu-Jitsu? Over the years, you may have heard about Jiu-Jitsu and wondered what exactly it is? The martial arts world is huge and so much bigger than most can imagine; with so many different crafts under the term martial arts, it can be hard to keep up. Jiu-Jitsu is a style of martial arts that has been growing in popularity over the years. Now more and more people are becoming interested in it because of how approachable and non-violent it is. There is more to Jiu-Jitsu than meets the eye, of course, and we are here to discuss it.

Jiu-Jitsu Origin The art of Jiu-Jitsu was initially started in Japan. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu combines practices from the Japanese style and combines them with other fighting techniques to create an all-new approach. Some older stories even suggest that jiu-jitsu was once used by monks thousands of years ago; how cool is that!

This fighting style does not require much strength and power, so it is effective for people of all sizes and builds. Anyone who tries Jiu-Jitsu and sticks with it will see physical results rather quickly. Another unique thing about Jiu-Jitsu is the focus on the body. AS you are fighting and grappling, you will learn more about the body and its limitations. Knowing how your body works and your opponent's body works requires a lot of training, listening, and paying attention. The focus on the body is a great way to turn any jiu=jitsu session into a biology lesson.

Jiu-Jitsu is Family Friendly Families all over are finding out that Jiu-Jitsu is great for the entire family. Adults and kids love the training, while it has the discipline of a significant sport, teaches self-defense, and is nonviolent. So many parents worry about their kids being able to defend themselves.
