Man and apes embark on a spectacular collision course in the thrilling sequel to ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’. Ten years have passed since apes and men went their separate ways after the battle of the Golden Gate Bridge. Mankind has been all but wiped out by the simian flu. Caesar (Andy Serkis), meanwhile, leads an evolving, peaceful ape society in the depths of San Francisco’s Muir Woods. When a band of human survivors stumble across the ape village, Malcolm (Jason Clarke) and Ellie (Keri Russell) are eager to promote peace between these former enemies. But they reckon without hot-headed survivalist Dreyfus (Gary Oldman), who leads an army of soldiers and is hell-bent on revenge! ‘Cloverfield’ director Matt Reeves takes over for this action-packed sequel, which centres on a make-or-break battle for dominance. With the apes now carrying guns and developing a rudimentary language, the outcome is far from clear!
PUDSEY THE MOVIE Britain’s Got Talent’s lovable dancing canine champ is voiced by David Walliams in his first big-screen family adventure. Pudsey is a cheeky, happy-go-lucky London stray who’s adopted by young siblings Molly (Izzy MeikleSmall), George (Spike White) and Tommy (Malachy Knights). They’ve recently lost their father, so mum Gail (Jessica Hynes) decides on a change of scenery by moving to the rural village of Chuffington. But just as our pampered hero is beginning to enjoy family life, trouble rears its ugly head in the evil form of landlord Mr. Thorne (John Sessions) and his dastardly cat Faustus! Amazing dancing dog Pudsey captured the hearts of the nation when he won Britain’s Got Talent with his owner Ashleigh back in 2012. Now he reunites with BGT judge and his ‘Mr. Stink’ co-star David Walliams, who provides the nimble-pawed pooch’s voice for this heartwarming family romp. The director is Nick Moore, who gave us ‘Horrid Henry: The Movie’.
AUNDRE RIEUS MAASTRICHT 2014 10TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT 19TH JULY 7 PM The King of the Waltz stages a spectacular anniversary concert in the Netherlands’ most romantic city square. Hugely popular Dutch violinist and composer Andre Rieu regularly features alongside top rock and pop bands as one of the world’s highest earning touring acts. Each year, the maestro comes home to Maastricht for his legendary summer evening concert series, which attracts audiences from around the globe. As 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of these fabulous events, Andre is pulling out all the stops to make this show his most dazzling and memorable to date. Joined, as usual, by his renowned 60 piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, he promises a host of special guest artists, soloists, a stunning light show and breathtaking fireworks.
