friends who I see regularly. I play for Worthians RFC who have just been promoted and we are all looking forward to the challenge of the new season! James Madsen ’02 I’m still enjoying life out in the Middle East, working in financial communications. I’ve caught up with fellow Worthian RFC mate Tom Calnan (R’95) as he is based just down the road in Abu Dhabi (the less said about evenings out with him the better; one ended with a sword being driven through his living room coffee table!). I've just finished a five week trip to the UK – enjoying stag dos and weddings – which included the privilege of being best man to Worthian, Tom Podbury (C’02); a very proud day! Nicholas (Nick) Miller ’05 After a stint with the British Embassy in Beijing, I am now moving into the fast-paced world of the Chinese wine industry. I will be based in Beijing and should any Worthians find themselves in this neck of the woods, don't hesitate to drop me a line at miller.nicholas@yahoo.co.uk or call me on: 00 861 821 021 1487.

News in Brief

Henry Morgan ’04 I passed out of training as an Officer in the Royal Marines from Lympstone in December 2010 and am spending my first year as a Troop Commander in Faslane as part of Fleet Protection Group RM. I am not currently pegged for a tour to Afghanistan; although I will be assigned to a new position in the next few months so will see what the future holds. My free time is spent desperately trying to hone my meagre surfing skills, whilst also trying to see as many old friends as possible – something a job in the far reaches of Scotland stops me doing as often as I'd like! Oliver (Oli) Mulcahy ’05 I am just four weeks off passing out from Initial Officer Training at the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth and will soon be moving to Portsmouth to start phase two training as a Weapons Engineering Officer. Tom Podbury ’02 I married Lauren Siepiela on the 9th July 2011. James Madsen (B’02) was best man and Worthians: Toby Bligh (R’02), Otto Blom (R’02), Chris Coxall (R’02), Sam Middlehurst (R’02), Danny O'Connell (R’02) and my brother, Alex Podbury (C’04), were my ushers. Alexander Pollen ’04 Having read politics at Newcastle University, I now work for Cheviot Asset Management, a private client investment management firm in Covent Garden, London. I run a cricket team, alongside other Worthians, which plays in a league in London and we are touring the Caribbean in November.

Andrew Pring ’10 I have just finished a gap year in Edinburgh where I worked for Selex Galileo in their system’s engineering department. In October 2011 I'm off to Bristol to study Aeronautical Engineering. Peter Rankin ’05 I am currently living in Cardiff after completing my sports management degree. In January 2011, I opened my own gym ‘The Boat Shed Training Centre’ and am loving being self-employed! I try and meet up with friends from Worth as often as I can, but if anyone is ever passing through Cardiff don’t hesitate to drop me an email at: pete@theboatshedfitness.co.uk or drop in to say hi if you’re passing by. Sean Rebecchi '05 I recently joined ZS Associates, a strategy consultancy firm with particular strengths in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Jocelyn Seligman ’01 I left St Andrews in 2005 with an MA in History and gained an MSc in real estate finance at City University in 2006, before qualifying as a chartered surveyor. I currently split my time between the family home in Wester Ross and London, where I run Ulysses Investment, which sources and manages commercial property investments for private individuals.

Nicholas (Nick) Smyth ’00 I recently left Google after four years to join four ex-Google colleagues at a fast growing technology start-up called QuBit. We specialise in helping businesses to improve their online sales through a mixture of technology and consulting. I live with my younger brother, Jonny Smyth (StB’01). Thomas (Tom) Storey ’09 (news sent by his father, Roger). Thomas seems to enjoy the work he is doing on a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier). He joined the ship in Fujairah in the UAE and sailed to Ras Tanura in Saudi Arabia to load, then sail on to Rotterdam for discharging. This voyage took him through ‘pirate alley’, the Suez canal, the Straits of Gibraltar and the Dover Straits. They then sailed for Singapore, a 40-day voyage around the Cape of Good Hope. I know I am in the shipping business – but I really do think it is a good career for someone looking for a bit of adventure and not the normal 9 to 5 working day! Tristan Stutchbury ’01 I am teaching English on a three year contract at a state primary school in Hong Kong. Oliver Taylor ’03 I am currently living in Oxfordshire and have recently qualified as a chartered surveyor and town planner. Still playing lots of cricket and tennis!

James Thorp ’01 I got married to my gorgeous wife, Hayley, last June on the beach in Poole, Dorset. We've been happily married for a year and are looking forward to the future! I am still working as a freelance sports television producer and enjoying seeing some Worthians now and again – such as Will Harrison (StB’01), Patrick Davey (C’01) and Ed Morgan (G’01). Giles Turton ’02 I left London two years ago in search of a more rural existence; following a year-long Master’s degree at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. I've successfully swapped the tube for tractors and now live and work in Cambridgeshire undertaking my APC as a land agent. I would love to hear from any Worthians in the area, as the Eastern regions are still largely foreign to me! So do get in touch with me at: gilesturton@hotmail.com William (Watto) Watkins ’10 I have just completed three weeks volunteer work with The National Seal Sanctuary – the same one that I visited five years ago on a school trip during Ace Week! I have been working with the animal care team involved in a range of jobs including fish preparation, feeding and handling. Milly and Hugo Sanders
