Yearbook2015

Page 1

Dear Year 11, Thank you for being such an exceptional year group. Your conduct, attitude to work and general demeanour over the last 4 years has been exemplary. You have risen to challenges magnificently and I am sure that you will go on to make a real difference in the world. I wish you every success with both your exams this summer and as you embark upon your next steps. I know that you will always work hard and respect those around you, for this you will reap great reward. Take care of yourselves, your family and friends.

Carolyn Dickinson Headteacher

Very best wishes Mrs Dickinson

Year 11’s The last two years have flown by but I can look back with fond memories on the times we Have shared together. I hope you keep in contact with us here at WHS and I look forward to hearing about your progress in College, University and your chosen careers. Good luck to all of you and remember, the three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are: hard work, perseverance, and common sense. Best wishes

Matt Hillier Deputy Headteacher

Mr Matt Hillier Dear Year 11, Congratulations on having successfully completed your time at High School! I’ve very much enjoyed getting to know you over in the two years I’ve been at WHS. Thanks especially to my Year 11 Triple Biology class for having entertained me with your questions (and answers) in our time together. I must also thank those members of 11x2 who have diligently attended months of intervention and proved that it really is possible to raise one’s attainment with sustained effort. Wishing you all the very best of luck in your future endeavours, (while remembering, of course, that luck is no substitute for hard work!). “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the precipitate” (that’s a Chemistry joke, in case you hadn’t worked it out).

Mr T. Flower Assistant Headteacher

Dear Leavers, To my Business classes please remember me when you make your millions after appearing on Dragons Den!! To all others I wish you all the very best for the future.

Sam Ayres (The Phone Lady) Assistant Headteacher “ Qui ne tente rien ne gagne rien.” Bonne chance à toutes et à tous.

Monsieur Beda Assistant Headteacher Tarring Community Leader

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you over the past four years and have found you an entertaining and likeable group of young people. Joining the school while you were in Year 8 as the Broadwater Community leader seems so long ago. Special mention must go to those I have taught Maths to over the years, you have been a real pleasure to teach. I wish you well in the future and hope that you make the most of all the opportunities that are open to you. Work hard, seek out new adventures and enjoy yourself!

Paul Slaughter Assistant Headteacher
