In an open letter sent to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Amnesty International and a selection of other human rights groups said world soccer's governing body should work with Qatar to "establish a comprehensive programme to ensure all labour abuses to which FIFA contributed are remedied." "With six months until the opening of the Qatar Football World Cup, hundreds of thousands of migrant workers have not established adequate remedy, counting financial compensation, for thoughtful labour abuses they hurt while the structure and servicing substructure essential for the training and delivery of the Football World Cup in Qatar," the letter read. "FIFA should reserve a sum not less than the US$440 million prize money obtainable to sides participating in the Qatar Football World Cup to be capitalized in funds to support remediation."
