ore and more universities and colleges are offering their students the opportunity to borrow a laptop or similar device for set periods of time.

Offering this type of service is a great way to enhance the students experience with very little staff interaction. Whether it’s for short term loan or long term, students are constantly looking for ways to access resources such as laptops/ tablets to finish that essay or research for their assignments.

Over half of UK Universities are now offering self-service device loans to their students and the Diplomat™ range is really living up to their expectations. In some instances, it is the Student Union that has provided funding for this service and it is becoming increasingly popular not just situated in libraries but also situated in other areas within the campus.

Our own recent feedback from students who use the service has been really positive: they really like the self-service

About Saving Lives on Site Saving Lives on Site is an independently run newly established corporate safety and responsibility campaign lead by CSR Magazine that aims to promote the very best practices of Health Safety and Environmental management. In an ever changing and constantly evolving world the risk that people face in their profession change and grow just the same as the world around them.

Dangers in the workplace is ever present and new risks will constantly evolve along with the professionals that work tirelessly to overcome and protect their fellow colleagues, staff or employees from harm.

Saving Lives on Site aims to inspire our many readers that work in HSE roles or at Management level about the varying degrees of risk they face in their industry and about how to protect and safeguard against it !

Every single year there are thousands of fatalities in the UK primarily due to the poor mismanagement of safety or negligence by companies or individuals who may fail to recognise the dangers they face whilst carrying out work in all manner of profession.

Whether it be high end industries such as construction and engineering through to areas of care work or agricultural, all the time new technologies and ways of doing things are being developed which in turn also presents new dangers and hazards that someone may face whilst carry out their duties.

Why Is It Important?

A serious workplace injury or death changes lives forever – for families, friends, communities, and coworkers too. Human loss and suffering is immeasurable.

Occupational injuries and illnesses can provoke major crises for the families in which they occur.

It’s our responsibility to protect those around us that carry our work in an employment capacity – these people have family and loved ones that want to see them arrive safely from work. It’s vital that the message of best practice in all areas of HSE Management is spread as widely as possible and every single day there are

Reducing Injuries Reduces Costs To Your Business If a worker is injured on the job, it costs the company in lost work hours, increased insurance rates, workers' compensation premiums and possible litigation.
