I hope this communication finds you, your home family and your work family well and in good health. Our country is operating in strange times and has placed burdens on you individually and on our company as a whole. Remember, tough times never last though tough people do! The first thing I want to do is thank each of you for your dedication to our company and our customers over the last few extremely challenging months. All of our people have risen to the challenge, operated well and almost everyone who could have has shown up and performed admirably. Despite the very unique situation created by “The Virus” which has shut down much of our supply chain, our manufacturing partners, our schools and our places to eat- The
WE Team has shown up and performed. The unrest in our country has not helped at all and this could and should have been addressed and the rioting, burning and destroying allowed in very liberal states and cities should not have been allowed. Now, I fully support the right of protest, but protest is not destruction of innocent people’s homes, businesses and livelihoods. It is also not the destruction of public buildings owned and paid for by generations of hard-working tax payers.
In my youth there were real, serious mistreatment of some of our citizens who were just like me, however of a different skin color. And, there were protests. Those protests, when peaceful, were right! Those protests were reasonable and very badly needed. Sometimes those protests were not peaceful and when they were not, they were just as wrong as they are today. The protests about a war in a faraway place where we had zero business being and that killed nearly 60,000 young Americans were just! However, some of the actions of those protests were not right. Like when folks that did not fight and did not lose children spat on our returning troops. That was not right. Movie personalities that conspired with the enemy while our young folks died also
were not right. I am talking about you, Jane Fonda!!! Not right at all.
The need for protests were there, but not always were the performances fair and justified. The protests for equal rights were absolutely right. Lots of the protests were peaceful especially those lead by Dr. Martin Luther King. Some others lead by groups like “The Black Panthers” were wrong. Folks died and things were destroyed- right reasons but wrong methods. Even so, the times and the situation were far more just in order to try to rectify the unjust than what is happening today. During those times, there was never an attack on our nation, on our institutions, on our freedoms, on our way of life- there were protest to make things better, not for destruction. We never dishonored our forefathers, tore down our history, tried to re-write our history or dishonored our National Anthem- our “One Nation” National Anthem!
I will always fight for all of “our” citizens’ rights and I believe in the right of choice given to each of us by God. Each of us should be equal and should be treated equal! We should respect all people and fight for each other’s rights as we would our own while also being orderly, respectful

and caring about all things- including our country!
Today we are entering the closing weeks to a November 3rd election. Some of you may have already voted and I commend you for it. In fact, I believe this may be the most important election of our lives. I feel our freedoms, our way of life and our capitalistic system is on the ballot. Our forefathers created, fought for, defended and in many cases died for the rights you and I enjoy today. Our nation is not perfect however it is the best one on this earth now or that has ever been on this earth. We are not perfect and never will be- our nation is a work in process. However, it is one to be built upon and not torn down, burned down or destroyed by anarchists. It is not a perfect nation but one that simply needs to be made better by caring for all people and by repairing the things that need repair. Our fathers gave us a great nation which you and I need to make sure we pass on better than we found it to our children and grandchildren- a better nation, a better life and, if possible, a better world.
As I said earlier the forthcoming election is important if we are to remain a free nation and one that supports opportunity to earn better for you and your family. That’s what freedom and capitalism are all about- equal opportunity. Capitalism is not “FREE” and it may not always be fair. However, the alternative is Socialism! Socialism is always the equal distribution of misery- everything is supposed to be equal, but it’s not and it sure as hell is not fair to anyone.
This country is made up of immigrants that wanted a better life; only the American Indian is a native of this land. Everyone else came here looking for an opportunity to succeed. Most all of our forefathers were indentured slaves brought here to work off a debt from another coun-
try. They came here for the right to be better by their efforts and hard work. They created this experiment called the United States of America. WE all should never forget to apply the word United to all WE do… One Nation United under God. Today we have a very small group trying to pull this nation apart and are using some situations and some gullible people to do so. Some of these people with just causes are simply being used by others with a destructive goal. I am and I am sure most of you are all for “good change”- change that is fair to all people.
Like the great Georgia running back Hershel Walker I don’t want to be seen as a white man or a black, brown, red or yellow man. I want to be seen as a man, as a human being or better yet a human becoming better, being better and leaving things better than it was once found to be. I think we all want an opportunity to work to gain better things and live a better life in a better, safer community, state, country and world. A world not of tearing down, but one of building up. Tearing down and destroying is easy- building up and creating is hard work!
Before I get off these political statements, I want to tell you how I personally feel about our upcoming election. At this time, I feel what is best for our county and our world is the re-election of Donald Trump as our President for the best opportunity for our children. I fully support President Trump to lead our Nation. I know President Trump talks too much and that he’s not perfect. I would not want him as a Sunday School teacher. However, he is a leader, a builder and a great negotiator. He loves our country and is not a life long politician. I truly wish he would hush sometimes and I wish his ego was smaller. However, I do strongly support his direction for our country and his ability to lead. President Trump has signed millions of paychecks for billions of dollars
as he paid his employees and created jobs. President Trump has never taken a penny of pay for his efforts as President. On the other hand, Joe Biden in the last 47 years has only signed the backs of the taxpayers’ paychecks to him and never the front of a single paycheck for an employee. His whole career is that of being a lifelong politician.
Please go out and vote your choice – I support your right to choose in every way. I have shared with you my choice- I feel it best for the future of you, your family, our company and our country. I respect you if you disagree and will support your right to do so but I feel that my job is to share what I think is right and best for our collective future.
So now let’s leave politics and talk about OUR company. Thanks to your efforts we have fought through these last months with a positive outcome. We have been able to maintain almost all our positions of employment, kept all but two of our locations open and have paid all our people and our obligations. Also, we have tried to the best of our abilities to care for your safety and that of our customers while maintaining all shifts and all product offerings.
We did have two stores that closed permanently - our parts store in Pikeville, KY and our Worldwide Ford Store in Marion, Va. The Pikeville location was a victim of bad energy businesses, too many Worldwide rooftops for the available customer base in very tough nationwide times. The Marion Store was simply a bad choice on my part to open. It was too small of a market with too many Ford stores nearby and a poor product line for the local market demand. The market was too small to follow our parts and service concept model and far too few opportunities to sell vehicles. We had some very good people trying very hard to make this operation

successful and we will always be grateful for their efforts.
In closing, and on the good news side, WE opened our largest rooftop ever in Spartanburg, SC in mid-May. It’s an extremely nice store in a great opportunity area. If you are near the intersection of I26 and I85 please stop in and visit. I think you will be proud of it.

SCOTT BLEVINS COO
As WE continue to find our way through the challenges that are presented each day, I wanted to share a story about an amazing and talented young man who decided to be successful.
Jim Abbott’s upbringing suggests that his success is anything but unlikely, as he was the 1987 recipient of the AAU James E. Sullivan Award as the “most outstanding amateur athlete in the United States”. He’s joined sports legends like Bobby Jones, Carl Lewis, Wilma Rudolph, Michael Phelps, and many other outstanding athletes who have been chosen for this honor. Abbott furthered his legend by playing for his home state, the University of Michigan Wolverines, being selected in the first round of the 1988 MLB Draft, and earning a Gold Medal in baseball during the Olympics the same year. If that wasn’t enough, Abbott even managed to begin his professional baseball career with
bany, Valdosta and Douglas, Georgia. They are in our kind of market and have our kind of really great people. This addition to the WE family will be a great addition with good people, a good area and good opportunities. We are very happy the folks of Southeast Georgia and Northern Florida are now sailing on the WE team! Despite what is going on in the world, WE also continue to do our best to improve our locations, train our people, improve our product offerings, care for our custom-
ers, care and help improve our communities and to love YOU, our people, to the very best of our ability. Thank each of you for the efforts you apply every day in your jobs and thank you for trying so very hard to do good things at work and at home to provide for your families, both your home families and your work families. God bless you and your families! And, may God continue to bless our country and our company with success- See you soon!
Terry L. Dotson
the California Angels, bypassing the minor leagues entirely!
So why on earth is Jim Abbott’s success so unthinkable, considering all of those accomplishments before ever getting paid? He was born without a right hand. Abbott, a pitcher, would rest his glove on his right forearm as he prepared to pitch, then slip the glove onto his left hand after releasing the ball. If he needed to make a play in the field, he’d scoop the ball with his glove still on his left, remove it, and the ball, and make the throw in time to get most runners out. Unbelievable talent!
While Abbott was already wildly accomplished and had his personal technique down to an impressive science, he had one accomplishment yet mentioned, one that has only occurred a little over 300 times in Major League baseball history…
On September 4th, 1993, during his first season as a New York Yankee, Abbott toed the rubber with two outs in the ninth inning in Yankee Stadium, facing one of the best hitters in the league at the time, Cleveland’s Carlos Baerga. Baerga hit Abbott’s 0-1 pitch right to the shortstop, who completed a routine throw to first for the final out of the game. The play officially wrote the unthinkable into baseball’s record books forever: one-handed Jim Abbott had completed a no-hitter! Amazing!
Jim Abbott concluded his storied career just six short years later, after the 1999 season completed. For good measure, he even spent time in the twilight of his career in the National League, collecting two hits to round out his impressive list of accomplishments.
While a truly exceptional and accomplished athlete, Abbott’s story is undoubtedly that of perseverance and drive. He never allowed his disability to stop him in any way and became a success at every level with which he participated, as demonstrated by his first lifetime no-hitter, which came in his first-ever Little League game. What a player!
So, what is something WE possess that we’ve used as an excuse to hold us back? What’s that less-than-ideal situation we’re in that makes us think the odds are just too great against us?
Jim Abbott could have chosen that mindset from day one. Jim Abbott could have made an excuse. He did the opposite. So, can WE all, and WE too can achieve the unthinkable!
Jim Abbott’s success and yours is a simple secret that that I want to share.
No, it is not a new sales technique, magic words, a new software, or even a better product! The secret is boring, it’s difficult,
WORLDWIDE EQUIPMENT, INC. 6
it’s not glamorous, and in reality, it’s not even a secret. Before I tell you the magic formula, I need to prepare you for the answer. It seems in the modern world of sales and marketing as well as life tries to prepare us for some “magic formula,” or some new, revolutionary system. New techniques, new products, new systems that give us the “magic edge.” The easy way, the simple way, the short cut. Throw all that out the window! The real secret to success is far more simple and far less glamorous.
The secret is “discipline.”
Before you shake your head in disappointment at me about this simple “formula,” let’s go into detail on not only why discipline is so essential to your “sales” and your “life” success, but how it supercharges you. If WE were to be honest, lack of discipline in any area of life results in disappointment. Weight gain, lack of exercise, not improving your knowledge, and a lack of passion for sales or life are all a result of a lack of discipline.
Discipline is boring, discipline requires new habit acquisition, discipline requires consistency, and discipline is boring. Yes, again BORING!
But here is the good news! Science and psychology are on our side, but first, you have to recognize discipline for what it is! It is an “acquired skill.” Here are a few examples:
• If you are going to be a great musician, you must acquire the skill through repetition.
• If you are going to be a great speaker, you must acquire the skill through repetition.
• If you are going to be a great salesperson, you must acquire the skill through repetition.
Why is it so difficult to be disciplined? Let me change discipline to a different term, “willpower.” To possess willpower, according to Roy Baumeister, Ph.D., a psychologist at Florida State University, you must possess three necessary components.
First, he says, you need to establish the motivation for change and set a clear goal. Second, you need to monitor your behavior toward that goal.
The third component is willpower. Whether your goal is to lose weight, kick a smoking habit, study more, or spend less time on Facebook, willpower is a critical step to achieving that outcome.
Baumeister’s studies made it clear that “willpower” is preceded by establishing a “motivation” to change and monitoring progress. Sounds a lot like a “plan.” If you simply want to rely on resisting the ice cream in your freezer, you are doomed for failure. If you are truly motivated to lose weight you would have a burning desire and a method to monitor your progress... meaning “don’t buy ice cream!”
Based on this, here is the formula to turn average people into superstars:
1. Write out a detailed plan that includes your “end goals” and the specific activities that lead to that goal. In reality, the activities are more important than the goals. The true power in activities is their defined steps to reach the goal. An activity is “make sales calls”. The defined activity plan would be far more detailed such as A) Join a Home Builders Association,
B) Get on the membership committee,
C) Start calling members to introduce yourself,
D) Have a detailed work track with prearranged questions after gaining an appointment. You see, the secret is in the details... Writing it down makes it real!
2. Put a time/date stamp on your activities. “Activity X will be performed in two days” would be an example. “Make three appointment-based sales calls, two days a week,” would be another example of a deadline or “timestamp.”
3. Monitor your activities and measure the result. Did your appointment get you to the next step? Did your meeting allow you to reach your goal?
4. Set activity levels for the “subsets” of activities that lead to your ultimate goal of a sale. Reading one sales book a month could be a subset. Taking a sales and marketing course twice a year could be another. Constantly improving your knowledge is critical to sales success. Would you want a brain surgeon operating on you that did not stay current through reading and educating to stay current? I didn’t think so!
5. Establish a “routine.” Another name for the routine is “habit.” If you work out three times a week for six months, you feel bad if you miss your workout. That means you formed a habit. If you have committed to making two appointment calls a day, three days a week, you have created a routine and you will feel bad if you miss that weekly goal.
6. Reward yourself for possessing “will power.” Buy a new piece of clothing, or maybe, just maybe, a bowl of ice cream! The great American writer Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, “Sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.” Character is defined as “maintaining a high level of integrity.” This means always being true to yourself, your goals, and even your will power.
I wish you the best of luck on your journey to success. Whether you are losing weight, quitting a bad habit such as smoking, or building your business and team, establish those goals and write them down. Measure and monitor your results, set the activity or frequency level. Establish a routine. Celebrate the wins from your will power. It will be amazing journey filled with accomplishments and wonder!

PRAYERS FOR LILY
Our UTC WE family would like to to share an update concerning Lily Raley, one year old daughter of Jacob Raley, a service technician at Division 67 Asheville Highway.
Lily was diagnosed with a brain tumor several months ago. She had surgery to remove the tumor and has spent most of the last few months in the hospital. The doctors are currently administering chemotherapy and looking at other options involving several doctors from across the country. There is a possibility that she may need another surgery to remove a small remaining part of the tumor which was attached to her spinal cord if the alternative treatments don’t work.
Lily is currently back at home and Jacob has returned to work this week. He and his family are very grateful for all the prayers, messages and gifts from all.
Please continue to pray for Lily and the family. Thank you everyone for your support and may God bless.
