How To Apply for CHAMPVA insurance?

If you are a Veteran with a service-connected disability, you may be eligible for the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA). CHAMPVA is a comprehensive healthcare program in which the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) shares the cost of certain healthcare services and supplies with eligible beneficiaries.

To be eligible for CHAMPVA, you cannot be eligible for VA health care benefits. You must be the spouse or child of a Veteran who has been rated by the VA as having a service-connected disability or of a Veteran who died as a result of a service-connected disability.

If you are eligible for both CHAMPVA and Medicare, you can receive benefits from both programs. However, you cannot receive duplicate benefits for the same service. For example, if Medicare pays for a hospital stay, you cannot also receive benefits from CHAMPVA for that same stay.
