En Chile se viven los Juegos Panamericanos Santiago 2023, una cita olímpica que reúne a atletas de todo el continente americano cada cuatro años. En esta ocasión, Chile es el país anfitrión, y la Asociación de Guías y Scouts de Chile se encuentra participando a través de un trabajo en diferentes líneas que comenzó en el año 2021. Con motivo del recorrido de la antorcha olímpica, que pasó por todas las ciudades del país, la Pionera Emilia Maraboli, de la ciudad de Copiapó, en pleno desierto de Atacama, fue relevista de la antorcha en representación de las Guías y los Scouts de todo Chile y del mundo, representando la fuerza de las niñas y mujeres en el deporte y el guidismo mundial. Junto a Emilia, corrieron 12 Pioneras y Pioneros de la Zona Atacama. Además, en esa ocasión, cerca de 20 dirigentes, guiadoras, pioneros, pioneras y caminantes apoyaron a la organización con cortes de calles y señalización de tránsito. El relevo de la antorcha llegó hasta el Estadio Nacional de Chile, donde se iniciaron los Juegos en una emotiva Ceremonia de Inauguración.
Chile hosts the Santiago 2023 Panamerican Games, an Olympic event that brings together athletes from across the American continent every four years. On this occasion, Chile is the host country, and Asociación de Guías y Scouts de Chile is participating through work in different lines that began in 2021. On the occasion of the Olympic torch route, which passed through all the cities of the country, the Pioneer Emilia Maraboli, from the city of Copiapó, in the middle of the Atacama Desert, was the torch relay representing the Guides and Scouts of all Chile and the world, representing the strength of girls and women in sports and global guiding. Along with Emilia, 12 Pioneers from the Atacama Zone ran. Additionally, on that occasion, about 20 leaders, guides, pioneers and ventures supported the organization with street closures and traffic signs. The torch relay reached the National Stadium of Chile, where the Games began in an emotional Opening Ceremony.

Actualmente, cerca de 3500 Guías y Scouts de todo Chile y de distintas partes de América se encuentran trabajando como voluntarios en las distintas sedes de los juegos. Además, se está realizando un programa educativo con distintas actividades y una vinculación directa con los juegos, lo que les permitirá vivir la experiencia del deporte y una vida sana a cientos de Guías y Scouts. Currently, about 3500 Guides and Scouts from all over Chile and different parts of America are working as volunteers at the different venues of the games. In addition, an educational program is being carried out with different activities and a direct link with the games, which will allow hundreds of Guides and Scouts to live the experience of sport and a healthy life. Las figuras destacadas de las Bahamas fueron reconocidas en los Honores de Independencia. Los bahameños y los extranjeros recibieron honores nacionales. La Oficina del Gobernador General dio a conocer la lista el Día de la Independencia en julio pasado. El Día de los Héroes Nacionales de las Bahamas se celebra cada segundo lunes de octubre para honrar a las personas que, a través de iniciativas y logros personales, han contribuido al crecimiento y desarrollo de las Bahamas. Este año, incluidos en la lista de homenajeados, dos miembros de The Scout Association of The Bahamas, Alexander Gibson y John Phillpot, recibieron la Orden del Mérito-Compañero. Recibieron Honores Nacionales durante el Día de los Héroes Nacionales a principios de octubre en los Jardines Inferiores de la Casa de Gobierno. La Gobernadora General Cynthia A. Pratt, Canciller de Sociedades de Honor, entregó los reconocimientos ante invitados, entre ellos el Comité Asesor de Honores Nacionales, miembros del parlamento, altos funcionarios gubernamentales, familiares y amigos.
The Bahamas leading lights were recognised in the Independence Honours. Bahamians and foreign nationals, were awarded national honors. The Office of the Governor General announced the list past July on Independence Day. National Heroes’ Day of Bahamas is celebrated every second Monday in October to honor individuals who, through personal achievements and initiatives, have contributed to the growth and development of the Bahamas. This year, included in the list of honorees, two members of The Scout Association of The Bahamas, Alexander Gibson and John Phillpot were awarded the Order of Merit-Companion. They received National Honours during National Heroes’ Day in early October at the Lower Gardens of Government House. Governor General Cynthia A. Pratt, Chancellor of Societies of Honour, presented the awards before guests including the National Honours Advisory Committee, members of parliament, senior government officials, family and friends.

En el Acantonamiento Nacional del pasado mes de septiembre que se llevó a cabo en el ciudad de Coronel Oviedo en la Región Oriental de Paraguay, lobatos y lobeznas dejaron volar su creatividad en el Taller de Pintura Inclusiva, una actividad realizada con la colaboración de Teleton Paraguay. En el marco del Proyecto “Construyendo Inclusión” de Teletón, que tiene como objetivo identificar barreras de accesibilidad, lobatos y lobeznas se sumergieron en el mundo del arte y la inclusión a través de la creación de obras de arte en equipos.
At the National Cubs Camp that took place in past September in the city of Coronel Oviedo in the Eastern Region of Paraguay, cubs let their creativity fly in the Inclusive Painting Workshop, an activity carried out with the collaboration of Teleton Paraguay. Within the framework of Teletón’s “Building Inclusion” Project, which aims to identify accessibility barriers, cubs immersed themselves in the world of art and inclusion through the creation of pieces of art in teams.

El evento contó con el apoyo de la Universidad Nacional de Caaguzú y fue marco para el desarrollo de otros talleres como Cuidado Personal donde lobatos y lobeznas conocieron un poco más de higiene bucal, alimentación y cuidado del cuerpo gracias a la Facultad de Odontología. Aprendieron a cuidar y proteger la naturaleza en el taller de Ofidios con VitalVet. También tuvieron una práctica de Primeros Auxilios con los Bomberos Voluntarios de Oviedo.
The event had the support of the National University of Caaguzú and was the framework for the development of other workshops such as Personal Care where cubs learned a little more about oral hygiene, nutrition and body care thanks to the Faculty of Dentistry. They learned to care for and protect nature in the Ophidian workshop with VitalVet. They also had a First Aid practice with the Oviedo Volunteer Firefighters.

A lo largo de su viaje, se encuentran con actividades increíbles en la naturaleza que los ayuda en su búsqueda. Pero no todo será fácil, enfrentarán desafíos emocionantes y obstáculos inesperados. La verdadera magia se encuentra en la amistad, la diversidad y el espíritu scout que une a jóvenes de todo el mundo. El Jamboree Nacional se llevará a cabo en Arani, en Cochabamba del 29 de diciembre de 2023 al 4 de enero de 2024.
In this exciting story, our scout heroes embark on an epic quest for “The Badge of Peace.” Throughout their journey, they encounter incredible activities in nature that help them in their search. But not everything will be easy, they will face exciting challenges and unexpected obstacles. The true magic is found in the friendship, diversity and scout spirit that unites young people from all over the world. The National Jamboree will take place in Arani, in Cochabamba from December 29, 2023 to January 4, 2024.

El 18 de octubre pasado arrancó oficialmente la ruta a Teletón Costa Rica 2023 y las Guías y los Scouts están preparados para ayudar un año más a la niñez del país. Este año se estarán recaudando fondos para la compra de equipo esencial para el servicio de Oftalmología del Hospital Nacional de Niños. La meta será de 500 millones de colones. La Teletón se llevará a cabo el 1 y 2 de diciembre. ¡Siempre listos y listas dice la Asociación de Guías y Scouts de Costa Rica!
On October 18, the route to Teletón Costa Rica 2023 officially started and the Guides and Scouts are prepared to help the children in the country for another year. This year funds will be raised to purchase essential equipment for the Ophthalmology service at the National Children’s Hospital. The goal will be 500 million colones. Teletón will take place on December 1st. and 2nd. Be Prepared says Asociación de Guías y Scouts de Costa Rica!

Asociación de Scouts de Honduras enabled a space within the Scout Office in Tegucigalpa for boys, girls and young to participate in JOTA-JOTI 2023 on Saturday, October 21.
JOTA-JOTI es el evento Scout educativo digital más grande que se lleva a cabo por Internet y a través de ondas de radio que durante un fin de semana de forma ininterrumpida conecta a scouts de más de 174 países.
JOTA-JOTI is the largest digital educational Scout event that takes place over the Internet and through radio waves that uninterruptedly connects scouts from more than 174 countries for one weekend.
