2009 Instructors Margie Meshew 2009 Hall of Fame Inductee Margie has been a licensed massage therapist since 1989. She’s been teaching massage for over 13 years and received the National Achievement Award in 1999 for Teacher of the Year from the Career College Association. She is a Traditional Thai Massage instructor who received her teacher certification from ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In 2001 Margie developed Swe-Thai Massage which became the subject of her first top rated instructional video. Margie’s second video Table Top Thai A Comprehensive Massage Routine was released in 2004 and her latest video Comprehensive Thai Bodywork & Herbal Ball Application was released in February 2007. Margie travels throughout the world conducting Traditional Thai, Table Top Thai, Swe-Thai and Herbal Ball massage workshops and has provided specialized Spa Training to many four and five star/diamond resorts. In addition to massage Margie is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor and is Reiki I & II certified.

Margie Schaeffer Margie is the founder & director of the Synergy Healing Arts Center & Massage School in Blue Ridge Summit, PA, since 1996, an NCBTMB certified massage therapist since 1992, massage therapist since 1990, nationally certified educator for 31 years specializing in curriculum development, certified Upledger CranopSacral therapist, PA Chapter Rotunda Chair Massage Coordinator, NCAA & AIAW national gymnastic coach, and a semi-professional modern dancer. Margie’s massage therapy graduates have earned a 20% higher score rate on the NCBTMB exam. She has taught Hydrotherapy at the Mid-Atlantic AMTA Massage Therapy Conference & specializes in ergonomic efficient body usage for massage, which has extended her massage graduate’s career to double the national average.

Anita Shannon Anita J. Shannon is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a licensed Cosmetologist since 1983, specializing in skin care, body treatments, Clinical Aromatherapy and various modalities of massage therapy. She is a national educator since 1990, appearing at four national Spa and Massage conventions each year, and appeared as a co-host for four years on the television show “Health Options Today” with Dr. Mitchell Ghen. Anita is the Director of Advanced Continuing Education, an NCBTMB CE provider, and has presented numerous workshops on Massage Cupping™ bodywork at national locations since creating this brand of therapy in 2001. Anita has been published on Massage Cupping™ bodywork in Les Nouvelles Esthetique-US, Massage Today and Massage Magazine. She has published two educational videos on Massage Cupping™ bodywork therapy and is currently writing a book on the subject.
