World Learning has collaborated with the U.S. Department of State to administer its biannual Professional Fellows Congresses since 2011. Each Professional Fellows Congress brings 200 to 240 international professionals to Washington, D.C. for a four-day conference-style event. The Professional Fellows Congress marks the culmination of the Fellows’ three-to-five week fellowship placements in organizations throughout the United States. It provides a forum for Fellows to share their experiences with each other, learn about best practices and creative solutions in their respective fields, share key insights into effective leadership models, and explore ways to apply their learning and expertise to a number of concrete and innovative activities upon their return home. To date, World Learning has administered six Professional Fellows Congresses for nearly 1,400 international Fellows from more than 60 countries and territories.
