WhyChoose
Ukraine
Ukraine is the second most popular surrogacy destination for international intended parents, second only to the US. In Ukraine, surrogacy is allowed for officially married heterosexual couples with a medical indication for surrogacy. The rights of the intended parents are protected by law and they are
considered the legal parents of a child from the moment of conception. A surrogate has no right for the child and the agreement between the surrogate and the intended parents is legally enforceable. The official Birth Certificate issued by the Ukrainian Registry Office lists names of the Intended Parents only.
The following medical indication qualify for surrogacy:
• absence of a uterus (congenital or acquired);
• structural and morphological changes of the endometrium, which make conception and pregnancy impossible;
• four or more unsuccessful embryo transfer attempts;
• deformation of the uterine cavity or cervix in case of congenital malformations or as a result of surgical interventions or benign tumors, that make it impossible to carry a pregnancy;
• severe somatic diseases, in which case carrying a pregnancy threatens the future health or life of the woman but do not affect the health of the future child;
WCOB provides full legal support and assists in obtaining all the necessary documents to help the intended parents safely leave Cyprus with the child/children.
