Data limitations from HFPSs make it difficult to verify the extent to which poorer households are vulnerable from the pandemic, because the surveys do not collect income and consumption information. However, in the following chapters, this report uses simulation exercises (some of which also draw on the HFPSs) to provide projections on how much poverty and inequality have increased in MENA as a result of COVID-19.
