Works on Water was the first triennial dedicated to art made on, in and with the water. The inaugural event took place from June 5 to 30, 2017 at 3LD Art & Technology Center in New York City, and featured artworks, theatrical performances, conversations, and off-site expeditions that explored diverse artistic investigation of water in the urban environment.
The inaugural Works on Water triennial in 2017 was created and curated by a group of artists and cultural producers: Emily Blumenfeld, Clarinda Mac Low, Eve Mosher, Nancy Nowacek, Katie Pearl, and Sarah Cameron Sunde. It was produced by New Georges in collaboration with 3LD and Guerilla Science and Arts Brookfield.
This catalogue contains installation photos and essays by Charlotte Eyerman, Sarah Cameron Sunde, and Nicole Miller. It was created in collaboration with Underwater New York to serve as a lasting and important testament to the triennial that took place, and make a case for Water Art as an emerging field.
