NGPC Now Offers Addiction Counseling
from NGPC 2019 Magazine
30 For years, people living in North Georgia have experienced a growing dependence on drugs and alcohol. It doesn’t matter whether the substance is legal (alcohol and pain pills) or illegal (marijuana, heroin, cocaine, etc.), the area has been hit hard by addiction. And the impact greatly affects teenagers, families, out-of-wedlock pregnancy rates, and the babies themselves. Because the need has been so great, the North Georgia Pregnancy and Family Resource Center saw the need for biblical addiction counseling.
Addiction is a very difficult issue to handle, but Tim and Kit have been doing this type of ministry for nearly 20 years through His Steps Ministries.
Tim said, “We committed to this as a couple because both husband and wife need counseling when one or the other is caught in the bondage of addiction. We have been blessed to work with several individuals and couples and are
We’ve been blessed with two certified biblical counselors in Tim and Kit Brown, who started working with the Center in 2018. But in 2019, the Browns took on a much bigger role within the Center and are now formally offering biblical addiction counseling in the NGPC offices.

encouraged to watch God change lives through the power of His Word. Sometimes these couples do not change but we do not lose hope. We have confidence in the Word of God that assures us if we are faithful to sow the seeds of the Word, God will bring a harvest if He desires in His time. We are thankful for this opportunity and would like to encourage others to get involved in helping counsel those struggling in North GA.”
We look forward to sharing more about our addiction counseling ministry as the Lord brings the fruit. We’re grateful to have Tim and Kit on board. If you know anyone who needs addiction counseling, please don’t hesitate to contact the Center and get the help they need. It’s free and confidential.

Words from Pope John Paul II: “Human life is sacred and inviolable at every moment of existence, including the initial phase which precedes birth. All human beings, from their mother’s womb, belong to God who searches them and knows them, who forms them and knits them together with his own hands, who gazes on them when they are tiny shapeless embryos and already sees in them the adults of tomorrow whose days are numbered and whose vocation is even now written in the ‘book of life.’ There too, when they are still in their mothers’ womb—as many passages of the Bible bear witness—they are the personal objects of God’s loving and fatherly providence.” (Papal Encyclical: Evangelium Vitae, 61).
