Ulcerative Colitis, also known as UC, usually begins in people under thirty years old. It is characterized by sores — ulcers — happening on the lining of the large intestine. Symptoms include diarrhea, cramps and abdominal pain, and the feeling of an urgent need for a bowel movement. It is often considered an autoimmune condition. There are some home remedies you can undertake for relief.
Limit Dairy Products
Often people with UC find that their problems of abdominal pain and diarrhea are worse when they consume dairy products. If you notice this pattern or if you want to see if there is a difference, try limiting or eliminating dairy items such as ice cream, cheeses, and milk. If you notice a significant improvement, then consider making these changes permanent.
