you will spend the rest of high school developing skills, taking advantage of opportunities, and building the experience needed to achieve your goals. In addition to our shops, our academic classes will help round out your skill development to ensure you have the analytical, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills you need to be successful in your career

Overall, we strive to inspire your career goals and help you develop the path to success. This will take a commitment on your part to persevere through challenges, seek feedback so you can continually improve, and dedicate yourself to each of your commitments. Welcome to Worcester Technical High School (WTHS), where the high school experience is cultivated to encompass academics and career-focused education for each student. Today, experiential technical skills combined with work-ready power skills are the single most critical asset in the 21st-century American workforce Our blueprint is to help students aspire to their full potential, accelerate their learning, and ultimately achieve a

competitive advantage. Our school benefits everyone because successful students become productive citizens in our community WTHS is working hard to maximize resources and strengthen our community.

At WTHS, we serve a student body with multiple learning styles. Because we believe every student deserves an outstanding education, we build the learning experience around each individual’s unique needs. Our caring subject matter expert instructors deliver a complete high school curriculum to inspire every student to reach their college and career goals. The mission of Worcester Technical High School is to educate and prepare our students, both academically and technically, to meet the challenges of a global society. Students will be provided with a highly supportive and academically challenging learning environment in the STEM initiatives to ensure our graduates are prepared for career and college and are able to compete globally

The philosophy of Worcester Technical High School is steeped in a proud tradition of providing excellence in technical and academic education Administration, faculty, staff, and students work collaboratively to promote a school culture that fosters the expectation of excellence while respecting differences. ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. CAN I STILL ATTEND TECH?

Yes! We have a fantastic team of educators that work with students to support and develop language acquisition.

WHEN I APPLY, AM I APPLYING TO A TRADE?

No, you are applying to become part of the next grade 9 class. If you are accepted, you will participate in an exploratory process of our technical programs.

WHERE DO I ACCESS THE APPLICATION?

The application will be found on https://wps.go2cte.com/.

HOW MANY LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION SHOULD I GET?

Letters of recommendation are not part of the application process. A team from your sending school will complete a recommendation as part of your application.

MY BROTHER AND FATHER ARE GRADUATES OF TECH. DOES THIS MEAN I WILL GET IN?

While we are very proud of generations of families attending WTHS, legacy status is not part of the admissions policy.

CAN I STUDY MORE THAN ONE TECHNICAL PROGRAM AT A TIME?

No, you cannot. However, you will have the opportunity to explore 6 different technical areas as a grade 9 student before program placement.

WHO FILLS OUT THE APPLICATION?

You will complete the online application with your parent/guardian.

I HAVE TO BE A WORCESTER RESIDENT?

Yes DO

WHEN DO WE HEAR BACK ABOUT ACCEPTANCE? WHAT SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES ARE PROVIDED?

Special Education services are provided to students who are receiving support through an Individualized Education Plan.

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE ACCEPTED?

Up to 400 students.
