We encourage you to review the following commi ee list and let us know which commi ee most interests you. You will soon learn that the increased interac on with other members will provide you with new business opportuni es you never expected.

Each commi ee has an appointed chair or co‐chairs who help to organize the many pro‐ grams and events offered to our members. Par cipa on on our commi ees is open to all of our members and affiliate business partners.

Commi ee and associa on leadership opportuni es are unlimited! Expand your ac vi es to par cipate at the state level commi ees with the Massachuse s Associa on of REALTORS® and even na onal level commi ees with the Na onal Associa on of REALTORS®. MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE The purpose of the Membership Commi ee is to maximize the involvement of real estate pro‐ fessionals in the Worcester Regional Associa on of REALTORS® through recruitment, recogni‐ on and reten on ac vi es that are dedicated to helping individuals understand why we exist and why membership is crucially important. Task Forces & Responsibili es: Orienta on exists to evaluate exis ng new member orienta on curriculum and increase over‐ all experience for a endees. Young Professionals Network exists to mentor new members and build par cipa on at WRAR ac vi es through outreach program to new members. Scholarship Commi ee exists to maintain and grow WRAR’s scholarship benefit for members. Business Partners evaluate current benefits for our affiliate members and to expand non‐ tradi onal membership through outreach programs. Awards Force exits to monitor the annual awards process including recommending to the Di‐ rectors’ the awards criteria as well as a slate of eligible award nominees for the WRAR Awards Gala, our most popular annual event. This task force also works to ensure the success of the program. Recruitment/Reten on exists to promote the REALTOR® brand through office presenta ons; evaluate current member benefits and value proposi ons; introduce incen ves for joining and track reten on.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT The purpose of the Professional Development Commi ee is to increase opportuni es for pro‐ fessional growth through educa onal opportuni es for all members which special a en on to new members; broker/owners and young professionals. Task Forces & Responsibili es: Technology exists to bring new trends and technology to our members through educa on and to also improve associa on technology tools including website. Broker/Owner/Manager exists to promote effec ve and on‐going member outreach to our broker owners and managers through u liza on of the unique rela onship that the Designat‐ ed REALTOR® community has with the general membership.


CREST exists to evaluate and develop instructor training and faculty development for our real estate school, CREST.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE The purpose of the Government Affairs Commi ee is to maintain an effec ve government affairs program which will enhance members’ awareness of local, state and na onal legisla‐ ve issues affec ng the real estate industry and to meet the RPAC goals established by the Na onal Associa on of REALTORS®. Task Forces & Responsibili es: Day on the Hill exists to improve member involvement in this annual ac vity. Legisla ve Breakfast exists to plan and implement our annual event with the Builders Associ‐ a on.

RPAC Fundraiser exists to plan and implement an annual fundraising event for RPAC. Major Donor Night exists to plan and implement our annual MajorDonor Evening. State Poli cal Coordinators exist to expand rela onships between our members and state legislators. Grant Development exists to evaluate current NAR grants and to apply for relevant ones.

COMMUNITY ACTCION COMMITTEE Engages in community service and charitable fundraising activities that will provide the membership with an avenue to give back to the communities we serve and that will demonstrate our members’ commitment to the region. Task Forces & Responsibili es: Back Pack Drive Task Force exists to oversee the annual collection of school supplies for needy children. Coat Drive Task Force exists to oversee the annual collection of winter supplies for needy communities.


PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE Enforces the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and oversees the complaint process as established by the National Association of REALTORS® Responsibilities: Hearing Panel exists to hear matters of alleged unethical conduct by Members or arbitration requests. Pre‐ requisite: all‐day training in Professional Standards every 2 years; Board of Directors selects members from qualified applicants. Grievance exists to review written ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine whether or not a hearing is warranted. Prerequisite: all‐day training in Professional Standards every 2 years; Board of Directors selects members from qualified applicants. REALTORS® Only.

WRAR TASK FORCES Golf Tournament Task Force exists to plan and implement the annual golf tournament and recommend a charity or charities to be supported each year to the Board of Directors for approval. Habitat Build Day is for REALTORS® and Affiliate members to come together to support our local community by donating a day of labor to help build local housing in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity. Beautify the Board Day is a great way for those with a special interest in landscaping and gardening to help us out one day in the spring and fall by planting flowers, etc. at the WRAR Board offices.
