2017 Commi ee Info We encourage you to review the following commi ee list and let us know which commi ee most interests you. You will soon learn that the increased interac on with other members will provide you with new business opportuni es you never expected. Each commi ee has an appointed chair or co-chairs who help to organize the many programs and events offered to our members. Par cipa on on our commi ees is open to all of our members and affiliate business partners. Commi ee and associa on leadership opportuni es are unlimited! Expand your ac vi es to par cipate at the state level commi ees with the Massachuse s Associa on of REALTORS® and even na onal level commi ees with the Na onal Associa on of REALTORS®. MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE The purpose of the Membership Commi ee is to maximize the involvement of real estate professionals in the REALTOR® Associa on of Central Massachuse s through recruitment, recogni on and reten on ac vi es that are dedicated to helping individuals understand why we exist and why membership is crucially important.

Task Forces & Responsibili es: Orienta on exists to evaluate exis ng new member orienta on curriculum and increase overall experience for a endees. Scholarship Commi ee exists to maintain and grow RACM’s scholarship benefit for members. Awards Task Force exists to monitor the annual awards process including recommending to the Directors’ the awards criteria as well as a slate of eligible award nominees for the RACM Awards Gala, our most popular annual event. This task force also works to ensure the success of the program. Recruitment/Reten on exists to promote the REALTOR® brand through office presenta ons; evaluate current member benefits and value proposi ons; introduce incen ves for joining and track reten on.


Affiliate Task Force exists to provide value to membership as well as guidance for our affiliate members. This task force is open to REALTOR® members only.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT The purpose of the Professional Development Commi ee is to increase opportuni es for professional growth through educa onal opportuni es for all members which special a en on to new members; broker/owners and young professionals.

Task Forces & Responsibili es: Broker/Owner/Manager exists to promote effec ve and on-going member outreach to our broker owners and managers through u liza on of the unique rela onship that the Designated REALTOR® community has with the general membership.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE The purpose of the Government Affairs Commi ee is to maintain an effec ve government affairs program which will enhance members’ awareness of local, state and na onal legisla ve issues affec ng the real estate industry and to meet the RPAC goals established by the Na onal Associa on of REALTORS®.

Task Forces & Responsibili es: Day on the Hill exists to improve member involvement in this annual ac vity. Legisla ve Breakfast exists to plan and implement our annual event with the Builders Associa on. RPAC Fundraiser exists to plan and implement an annual fundraising event for RPAC.

Community Action Committee members present a check to one of our 2016 Charities of Choice, The Bridge of Central Massachusetts.

Major Donor Night exists to plan and implement our annual Major Donor Evening. State Poli cal Coordinators exist to expand rela onships between our members and state legislators. Grant Development exists to evaluate current NAR grants and to apply for relevant ones.

COMMUNITY ACTION COMMITTEE Engages in community service and charitable fundraising ac vi es that will provide the membership with an avenue to give back to the communi es we serve and that will demonstrate our members’ commitment to the region.


Task Forces & Responsibili es: Back Pack Drive Task Force exists to oversee the annual collec on of school supplies for needy children. Golf Tournament Commi ee exists to plan and implement the annual golf tournament and recommend a charity or chari es to be supported each year to the Board of Directors for approval. MAR Charitable Founda on iden fies and supports local chari es that deal with housing and homelessness.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE Exists to help create both member and public awareness of the REALTOR® brand. Public Rela ons Task Force exists to enhance community involvement to promote the value proposi on of using a REALTOR® and/or engage in community ac vi es that enhance the image of REALTORS®.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE Enforces the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and oversees the complaint process as established by the Na onal Associa on of REALTORS®.

Responsibili es: Hearing Panel exists to hear ma ers of alleged unethical conduct by Members or arbitra on requests. Prerequisite: all-day training in Professional Standards every 2 years; Board of Directors selects members from qualified applicants. Grievance exists to review wri en ethics complaints and arbitra on requests to determine whether or not a hearing is warranted. Prerequisite: all-day training in Professional Standards every 2 years; Board of Directors selects members from qualified applicants. REALTORS® only. Media on/Ombudsman exists to provide support for members and public in disputes

FINANCE COMMITTEE Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Associa on’s finances, including budge ng and investments.
