HOW DO YOU MEASURE STUDENTS PROGRESS/ACHIEVEMENT?

WCS operates on six-week grading periods and reports final grades using appropriate letter or numeric values. While numeric and letter grades are not the only markers of student achievement but do offer a unified representation of a student's command of learning and implementation of skills in a classroom setting Additionally, we utilize a variety of student assessment to guide future instruction and review individual student needs in an academic setting. Students will participate in diagnostic/screening assessment for math and reading/writing, formative and summative assessments in classes, and appropriate standardized testing for core content areas.

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE PARENT/GUARDIAN IN EDUCATION?

WCS believes in enrolling families, not just students. We expect parents/guardians to understand and embrace our mission, share our core values, and fully support our curriculum, faculty, and staff. We believe in creating a cooperative partnership centered on the development of students spiritually, academically, and personally that each individual may become all that God has designed them to be.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
