Wedding Spotlight Ashley + Matthew got married at Wood Ranch on December 11, 2015 HOW THEY MET: Ashley and Matthew met on July 14, 2013 in Hanford, California at a Young Republican deployment for (now) Senator Andy Vidak. They both traveled from their respective homes to volunteer for the campaign. It was practically love at first sight. After just one conversation, Ashley and Matt had exchanged phone numbers and were in near constant contact for the entire following week. On the last week of the campaign, Matt and Ashley spent all of their time walking precincts together. On August 4, 2013, Ashley moved to Southern California and from that point on, Ashley and Matthew have been inseparable.

HOW HE PROPOSED: After 1 year and 4 months of dating, Matthew proposed on December 6, 2014. In the morning, Matt took Ashley to the Camarillo Air Museum. Ashley's favorite movie is "Pearl Harbor" and the museum has WW2 planes and a few of the planes that were in the movie. When they arrived, Matt handed Ashley an envelope that read "top secret". He then proposed and informed Ashley that the plan was to do all the things in the movie, starting with a flight on a WW2 era training airplane. Ashley took to the skies in a 40 minute flight over the Conejo Valley. The two then traveled to the USS Iowa where they watched the Los Angeles Christmas Boat Parade from the decks.

NOTE FROM THE BRIDE: “Our wedding was politically themed- tables named after republican presidents, American flag cake, elephant cake topper, etc.

The wine box ceremony was my favorite part.”
