Woodland embraces academic excellence, spiritual development, social consciousness, community collaboration, and a positive self-concept.
Who We Are
At Woodland, girls and boys are challenged academically, nourished spiritually, given opportunities to serve others, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
We are a co-educational two-year-old through eighth-grade independent school that is intentionally large enough to provide students an array of educational, co-curricular, and extracurricular opportunities yet intimate enough to ensure that each student receives individual attention, giving them the sense of belonging and allowing them to thrive.

Educational Philosophy
Woodland values the importance of balancing the many aspects of a child’s life and chooses experiences intended to foster individual growth of the intellectual, spiritual, creative, physical, social, and emotional roots.
Woodland meets each student where they are through teaching methods that adjust instruction to various learning styles, smaller class sizes, and a challenging yet supportive educational curriculum.
Dedicated faculty believe in building a strong partnership with each family to facilitate continuous success.
We prepare our Early Childhood students for the formal learning years.
In Early Childhood, our youngest learners are immersed in a joyful and playful environment.
Small class sizes allow teachers to adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs and respond to each child’s natural curiosities, allowing more time to explore concepts beyond what is sometimes planned. At Woodland, play is as productive as it is fun and is a place where girls and boys are engaged in hands-on learning.
Students age 2 through junior kindergarten explore and learn about numbers, letters, colors, and language in a way that sparks their imaginations.
Play is learning
We prepare Lower School students for a challenging Middle School curriculum.
Woodland’s academic setting for senior kindergarten through 4th-grade students builds confidence, independence, and responsibility. Teachers work with each student to develop critical thinking skills, encourage positive social interactions, and identify growth opportunities.
Cross-curricular activities are a part of special subjects in which projects promote student collaboration. Special classes include art, Bible, S.T.E.A.M., music, P. E., library, and Spanish.
A meaningful part of the Lower School experience is the performing arts. All students in each grade perform in memorable plays or musicals in which creativity and expression come to life, and unique talents are discovered.
Our Middle School students are prepared for success in all aspects of high school.
Woodland graduates attend the top high schools in the area.
Middle School embraces the challenges of the pivotal adolescent years by providing a structured environment that includes relationship-building through annual class trips, rigorous yet supportive high school preparation in all academic areas, and athletics and leadership opportunities for all students.
Middle School curriculum is developed on solid principles:
• Student-centered approaches allow teachers to address students’ needs and move them forward to the next level.
• Knowledge-based curriculum offers meaniningful content and a firm foundation to develop skills that give each student what is essential for productivity in applying, analyzing, and evaluating deeper concepts.
Forever a Warrior!
Athletics
Woodland athletics are accessible to any student interested in participating. The goal of our sports programs and teams is to produce well-rounded students.
FOR JK-4th GRADES
, Woodland offers a recreational sports program.
This gives the younger children a chance to try out various sports and our families enjoy a sense of community at the games.
OUR 5th-8th GRADERS interested in pursuing more competitive athletics can participate in one or more of the following sports: basketball, cheer, cross country, football, golf, soccer, speed and agility training, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
Woodland recognizes successes and failures as growth opportunities, teaching students how to push through challenges, discover interests, and value physical activity.
Middle School sports allows athletes to hone skills while also learning discipline, commitment, accountability, responsibility, and teamwork.
