Famous composer Franz Schubert said, "Happy is the man who finds a true friend, and far happier is he who finds that true friend in his wife." I am wrapping up this magazine just in time to leave on my 10 year anniversary trip with my husband and best friend. Chances are, if you have been engaged for long at all, you have already had your fill of well-meaning people sharing their two-cents on the success of a happy marriage. My advice is very simple: focus on being his true friend. Make memories, laugh at inside jokes and stand beside him no matter what challenges come his way. I hope you enjoy this edition of Woodlands Bride. It is filled with some of the most beautiful weddings we have ever seen. Before visiting your florist, have your colors/ bridesmaids dresses picked out and it is helpful to have a vision of your style. Bring along pictures of what you like and be open to suggestions from your florist of complimenting colors and textures. Try to not have your heart set on a specific flower that may be out of season, like peonies, your florist can suggest substitutions to create a similar look.
The best advice I would give to a newly engaged couple would be to enjoy the process and not sweat the small stuff! Remember the reason behind the day is to celebrate the two of you and your lives together. Also, focus on a realistic budget and stick to it. Guest count, date, event timing and a fabulous team of vendors are crucial when it comes to cost efficiency. Gorgeous events don't just happen, they are creatively planned.
This event is celebrating your love for each other, show it in kindness toward your soon to be spouse. Make the decisions together and take on the task as a team. Invest in what you take away from your day: your marriage and your memories. Invest in your marriage and complete a full marriage counseling course. It will give you tools you both need to uphold your marriage for the long haul. Don't skimp on you. Your hair, your makeup, your dress, your photography, etc. Hire a professional. Invest in the best to get the best photos of you on that day so that you look back on those memories with admiration and not, "I wish I would have..."
Every wedding has its own unique rhythm and personality. Experienced photographers are able to read these precious, but fleeting, moments and capture them consistently. Crafting photographs that uniquely frame their clients’ personalities.

of Rent Some Vintage What are a few your favorite pieces right now? Its hard to pick but our Pink Priscilla couch is hard to not love. However, the new blue french Monique couch is so wonderful too. We also have a big soft spot for the french doors. What are some of the most creative places and pieces to add vintage pieces in your wedding decor? Mixing the iron gate with combinations of french doors for the front of the ceremony is probably our favorite but the buffets for cakes tables are just so beautiful and unique. We always love to add a chandeliers to the trees or arches, along with the "Forever" sign. Do you have tips for putting together a great vintage theme wedding? In any wedding or party, its important to get a theme and stick with it, and know when you've done enough. Too much is truly too much but be sure you've included enough to make a real 32

statement without it becoming clutter. What wedding trends are you seeing right now? The color of the coming season seems to be blue and yellow. The French/English garden style is in, which is the first cousin to the elegant/rustic mix that we all have been enjoying. What is your favorite wedding tradition? I'm a sucker for the mom and daughter connection. I would be, with two girls of my own! I love to see the mother stand and face her daughter as the bride comes in. It is like the mother is showing and acknowledging her daughter as a equal and grown woman, though she will always be her little girl. I also love for the bride to acknowledge her mother with a rose as she passes her. It gets me every time.
