Welcome TO THE PREMIER ISSUE OF WOODLANDS

bride

Hello + welcome to the premier issue of Woodlands Bride Magazine! It is hard to believe the blog I

started a year and a half ago, one sleepless night, has turned into this and has produced a team of three, talented women. Our vision has always been to provide local wedding inspiration + connect brides with vendors in the area that can make things happen. From styled shoots to Real Weddings and vendor features, this area is truly a Destination Wedding paradise of its own. (Speaking of destinations for a wedding, you’ll want to check out our Local Venue Guide resource, on page 7!) We couldn’t have put this beauty together without acknowledging those special people along the way. Those friends and mentors who asked, “How can I be a part of this?” when it was simply me, my laptop and a dream. As you look through the website and thumb through this magazine, each of these advertisers have been so supportive – you guys helped make this a reality and there’s a special place in my heart for you all! But back to making your dreams come true. We truly hope this is the ultimate wedding resource for all your planning needs. We partner with those talented, creative professionals who love to collaborate, and that spirit of “teamwork” is exactly what you need on your wedding team. Find those vendors, connect with them and let them know you saw them in Woodlands Bride Magazine; better yet, show them! Bookmark WoodlandsBride.com and find us on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. We want to connect with you and we want your feedback! Tell us what inspires you and then share your wedding day with us so the next bride can do the same. Cheers to you and your shiny rock!

Sweet Southern Charm at Top O' The Hill

Photography by Kasey Lynn Photography

Barn to be Beautiful

This charming rustic barn on the hilltop of Montgomery hosted the sweetest country chic styled shoot. Handmade table settings and colorful floral centerpieces in wooden boxes were on display inside the well-lit barn. Vintage decor accents were added, like black and white printed papers and burlap-covered Mason jars.

Destination Woodlands

ome brides know right away where they want to get married – they’ve driven by the venue time after time and have daydreamed of exactly how their wedding day will look. For others, it’s one of the hardest decisions; with so many options to choose from and different amenities offered, where do you even begin?

Maybe you’re a vintage bride who would like to have her wedding at a place that is already “decorated” to her style, where she can add those personal touches that will keep with the look and feel of the wedding. We would suggest the quaint Hodge Podge Lodge – an 1854 historic home nestled between century-old Pecan and Oak trees in historic Montgomery. Perhaps you consider yourself a traditional bride? Heather’s Glen wedding chapel and garden venue in Conroe would give you that perfect mix of amenities – a traditional, quiet ceremony

with a separate reception site and a lush outdoor garden perfect for photographs. Whether you are planning a resort-style wedding at the all-inclusive Woodlands Resort and Conference Center or want that lakeside ceremony at April Sound, Montgomery County is truly a Destination Wedding paradise with something for every style bride. Let us make it easy for you to select the location of your dream wedding. We have put together a local venue guide resource to help you navigate the wedding venue selection available in Montgomery County and the surrounding North Houston area. Think of this guide as your wedding planning manual. As we know, a prepared and informed bride is a happy bride! Visit our website to download the expanded venue guide!

Jordan and Steven Photography by JW Baugh Photography

The Story

Steven and Jordan dated for nearly four years before he proposed at her family ranch in southwest Texas. He caught the bride completely off guard when he popped the question in front of her entire family, on a bluff overlooking the ranch. As soon as they were engaged, Jordan started looking for the perfect rustic venue to host their "shabby-chic" wedding. After searching the Houston area, they decided Stonebrook Hall at Amber Springs was perfect.

Farm Fresh

Jordan wanted her wedding to have a rustic feel, mixing burlap, vintage lace, and Mason jars. In lieu of round tables, her guests dined at farm tables from A Style Collective.

Chrissy and Sean Photography by Photography by Niki

The Story

Sean and Chrissy met through mutual friends, on a blind date at a local hangout. They quickly realized that they had way more in common than just friends. On the second date, his dad was at a conference in The Woodlands at the same time and his parents actually showed up on the date. Chrissy shares, "I loved how close his family was to him. He asked me to marry him one day at his house - the day of purchasing the ring… He just couldn’t hold it in any longer.”

Makin’ Memories

The events that occurred before the wedding in the bridal suite were most memorable, says the bride. “I had some special moments with my bridal party. It became so real in my mother’s eyes – I could see her happiness for me. My maid of honor and I laughed about when we were little and how we used to imagine our wedding. Each bridal party member had their own way of expressing happiness for me, and it prepared me to go down the aisle to see my husband!”
