With the help of the kitchen staff, Reception pupils made some Easter crispy buns. They decorated them with little chicks.
Year 1 and Year 2 have both been learning outside in the school grounds this week.
Year 1 were busy looking for signs of spring with a checklist. They took photos of buds, blossom, seedlings and even a bee and a nest!
have been looking at sharing in maths. They worked out answers using unifix to help. As a treat they shared out some chocolate drops, making sure they shared them fairly so they all had the same amount.
Year 1 enjoyed a Dogs Trust workshop this week. They learned a rhyme to remember the five facts to keep safe around dogs.
Year 2 enjoyed building natural sculptures as part of their ‘Earth Art’ topic using sticks and twigs.
Year 2 have been giving Jigsaw
Jo lots of advice in PSHEE about staying healthy. They created medicine safety posters and gave him suggestions for healthy snacks and exercise.
KS1 Sign Language Club have been learning to sign colours and learnt how to sing a rainbow song using the signs. to view.
Year 3 had a pizza making workshop led by Mrs Howcroft as part of their Romans topic.
Our talented Year 3 and 4 Textile Club made some beautiful Mother's Day gifts. Some children made scented heart shaped cushions, and some designed a canvas.
Year 3 also joined the Roman Army on their visit to Murton Park. They learned how to march in time, throw spears and defend themselves using the tortoise formation. They also made clay oil lamps and learned how to use Roman letters and numbers. More photos on flickr.
This week, Year 4 went on a bug hunt searching for invertebrates. They brought them back into the classroom to identify them, using a classification key before returning them safely to their habitats.
And in Design and Technology, Year 3 designed and constructed Roman chariots.
This week, Year 4 enjoyed a morning at Kala Sangam Cultural Centre participating in Bhangra dancing and creating Mandala patterns. They also visited Buddha Land to learn about the life of Buddha, Buddhist practice and the benefits of meditation.

Let the battle commence! Year 4 enjoyed their final Science Week STEAM challenge. They had to design a bat with wings that could be moved in unison without being touched and the movement had to be vertical. They showed great resourcefulness.
The science lab looked like a crime scene today with a team of forensic scientists from Year 6 examining fingerprints. Whorls, arches and loops might just be the key to solving this crime!
Year 5 were out and about in Saltaire last week, learning all about life in Victorian Bradford and the work of Titus Salt.
The mighty U9 football squad travelled to Richmond House last week for their latest football festival. In windy conditions they played some super passing football and defended well. With 8 wins from a total of 11 matches across both teams, and ably assisted by some Year 3 starlets, it was a
Linking with their Extreme Earth topic, 6 have been moulding clay to make polar bears sculptures and used the clay tools to create texture and small details.
A hard-fought afternoon of football for Years 5 and 6 today in our annual House event. Congratulations to Ingleborough, who were crowned this year s champions.
Some great results in the final Leeds League Cross Country of the season 1st U9 girl, 2nd U9 boy, 2nd and 3rd U11 girls’ and 2nd U11 boys; as well as some brilliant team performances.
