What is the problem statement/issue from the literature?

To begin with the issue and problem about culture of many religions is slowly dying apart in Teluk Intan. For example, the lion dance in Chinese culture is getting lesser and lesser where the younger Generation is not willing to continue the art of the lion dance with many certain issues. According to research, it is clearly stated that lion dance by the Chinese is at risk of extinction in Malaysia, well it includes Teluk Intan. This is because nowadays, younger people are longer relished to challenge of being lion dancers. Elderly from older generation are always trying to pass on the legacy by inviting friends and youngster to give it a try. However, many join but left in the middle after losing interest because of the harsh training they must go through. Other than that, whereas for Malay and Indian culture, their art and culture such as the mural art in Teluk Intan from Malay artist and the Rice art for the Indian are also on the edge of extinction whereby there are lesser younger people from every religion willing to continue the legacy of their predecessor. Hence, this have also led many traditions heritage building to slowly be inactive, abandoned and neglected.

Tectonic expression, the culture itself is not eye catching enough for the public and people in Teluk Intan to witness the beauty and knowledge behind every art. In this current day, it seems hard to catch people attention, since people only perform their art such as lion dance, rice art during unique events. Therefore, we must find ways to let the community to realise the existing art that is present in Teluk Intan. Through tectonic expression, we are able fuse the uniqueness of culture and art with architecture. With the proper site analysis and understanding of building construction and technology along with characteristic of the culture art; a harmonious feeling and form making can stand upon a paddle stone revitalising Teluk Intan back to its golden age. This having us to have thoughts on few suggestions to create a space to allow people to teach and pass down every legacy from person to person with the help of unique expression that being formed by the building itself shining upon the town of Teluk Intan.
