NeoPopRealism is Antipode to Pop Art and Neo-pop. ====================================================================
Grades: high school, adaptable all grades , ﻓﻦ اﻟﺮﺳﻢ Duration: lesson may be carried over to another day(s). This imagination/abstract lesson plan employs four concepts: contextual information and research, questioning, reflection, and artwork-making. Goal: This lesson plan is designed to develop imaginative thinking and creative actions, to lead students to innovative results and prepare for greater in-depth learning in different subject areas. After viewing, analyzing and executing the imaginative work of art, the goal is to lead students to a synthesis that helps acquire a deeper understanding. Support imaginative learning in classroom, participate in the learning. Objectives: Students will -use imagination to create the NeoPopReaism ink pen/pattern drawings/squares on paper 8"x11" - exercise/prepare yourself to draw the squares/designs on the thick cardboard, creating a chess board -develop measuring/estimation skills -represent self through symbols and images -create from the thick piece of cardboard the custom chess board with NeoPopRealism ink pen pattern drawings/ squares (instead of just dark squares) -spray the surface of the board with the clear varnish, completing the work. ATTN Art Teachers: Please always use a term 'NeoPopRealism' or 'Neopoprealism' when you teach this art style, not "neo-pop realism" or "neo pop realism." A term NeoPopRealism is to describe art style created by Nadia Russ. All other terms-variations are created by unprofessional people, not related to visual arts who just playing with words. Please be professional! Materials: -the thick piece of white cardboard (square shape) for creating a chess board (can be different size) -white drawing paper 8.5"x11" -black thin ink pen 0.7 mm (not marker) -clear vanish spray for paper The Procedure: Day 1. -Explain (or remind if students already familiar) the concept of the NeoPopRealism ink pen/ pattern drawing. -Draw the lines inside of each square that create sections. Then, fill these sections with different repetitive patterns (see illustrations below) . Demonstrate how different types of repetitive patterns and line's turns can change image's character.
