Welcome to June's Issue of the Women Thrive Magazine. In this magazine issue, we are talking about building passive income and creating more freedom in your life Many of our readers are business owners, entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs and there is no shame in wanting it all - a freedom lifestyle and a financially successful business. But success does not happen by accident, it happens by design. That is why we believe that having a plan is important part of becoming a successful entrepreneur
In this issue, we feature Lisa Johnson who is a UK-based business coach who, over the last few years has had notable success with multiple seven-figure launches, built a solid track record in the online business and isn't afraid to challenge the industry or speak about money. As someone who has come from a relatively ordinary background, we thought it would be inspiring for women to read her story to success and know that anything is possible
In this month's issue, we also talk about how to get paid as a speaker, make money from digital products and drive sales using Facebook ads.
Of course, business is often a true rollercoaster and sometimes it can feel like a never-ending trail of trails, lessons and steep hills. Don't get discouraged and know that at Women Thrive you always have a supportive community of women, with whom you can share your struggles, challenges and wins
With Love,

"Everyonehas knowledgeintheir headsthatisnot commonknowledge. Everyonecanturnthat knowledgeintoa sustainableand profitablebusiness."
Whilst I don’t know if there is a standard route to becoming a successful entrepreneur, I very much doubt it looks much like the one I took.
I grew up an unconfident, slightly awkward child. I was bullied relentlessly through my childhood, my teens, and as a young adult. After finishing school with a handful of mediocre GCSEs and leaving the Mormon religion I’d grown up in, I was married and living on a chicken farm at 18.
My self-esteem had been shattered by this point and so I looked for the quickest route to love and normality that I could locate, and marriage to the first person that showed an interest was my choice Divorce number one happened when I was 21
Then in 2011, I found out I was (unexpectedly) pregnant. With twins. Which, with the benefit of hindsight, I can now look back on it as my Ground Zero moment.
At this point, I had scrappily worked my way up to a career as a risk analyst in The City, working crazy hours. I went back to work when the twins were five months old and it became clear that it just wasn’t going to work.
After a brief period of maternity leave, I found a job close to my house working as a PA for a female CEO, which was fine but not exactly challenging. So, I made up my mind quite quickly to start a business as a side hustle. I liked parties and celebrations and nights out, so it seemed the obvious choice was to become a Wedding and Events Planner
For the next 15 years, I tried a whole raft of different jobs, some more successfully than others I was a PA, did some acting and TV presenting, worked in sales, and got a law degree, but never really felt that I had found my vocation
My wedding business snowballed and soon we were fully booked for the next year This success did not go unnoticed and other small business owners started to come to me and ask how I had achieved all this so quickly I told them what I’d done and how I’d done it I’d studied with a business coach, so I now understood ideal clients and branding and messaging By this point, I was a businesslearning junkie I’d read all the books and gone to every free webinar and I passed on everything I’d learned to my friends >>
The trajectory of my journey in business is one that could be described as “unconventional”

"I made a bit of a name for myself as the ‘go-to’business success story who explained things in an easy-tounderstand way. "
They too started to see increases in bookings I made a bit of a name for myself as the ‘go-to’ business success story who explained things in an easy-tounderstand way Around this time, I had two lightbulb moments
1 / I started my wedding business to increase my income and to provide more freedom in my life whilst doing something I enjoyed However these weddings took place every weekend through the Summer, so it wasn’t a well-thought-out business model for me after all
2 / I was providing strategic advice to my fellow business owners, which they were all using to improve their businesses I was actually helping them to make more money Surely if they used this advice to become more successful, then there would be others that would also benefit from my help and, well, maybe, pay me for it.
There had to be a way to utilise the skills I’d learnt and was now passing on to others and, at the same time, stop working every weekend and evening.
I launched my consulting business where I expanded the depth and detail of the advice and strategy that I was offering to fledgling online businesses and was successful straight away. I earned £220k in revenue in that first year because of all the business knowledge I’d learned. This success was exhilarating and financially rewarding, but hugely exhausting. Ultimately, I had left that 9-5 job for a 6-11 business! >>
"This success was exhilarating and financially rewarding, but hugely exhausting."
"I’m now in year five of that business and so far I have made over £13 million."
Also, I could never earn any more money because I was fully booked every day with clients and was working to full capacity This was not going to plan I loved what I was doing, what I was teaching seeing my clients learning, thriving, and making a success of their businesses How then, could I increase my reach and supercharge my earnings while simultaneously decreasing my hours and having more of a social life?
One day I was listening to people involved in a heated debate on a podcast about something called ‘Passive Income’ I regarded it warily, but I kept investigating and discovered that within this, slightly misleading, heading of ‘Passive Income’ there was way more than that Passive Income means different things to different people, and it is not a new method of running a business Its common thread is simply to stop reaching a point where you can take on no more customers because you run out of hours in the day.
In 2018, I started introducing some passive income streams. By the end of year two, everything had changed. I had gone from working 80 hours a week to only 7.5 hours a week and was bringing in over £1m in revenue. I remembered a great quote I’d read somewhere, which was along the lines of “work smarter, not harder” and that became my ethos.
Everyone has knowledge in their heads that is not common knowledge. Everyone can turn that knowledge into a sustainable and profitable business. I did, and believe me, I am nothing special! I just created, followed and now teach a sequence of simple steps that can be applied to any ‘one-to-many’ business model.
I’m now in year five of that business and so far I have made over £13 million and I still don’t work a full week I travel for most of the year with my husband who works for me and my twins I have grown my little business that started on my coffee table five years ago to a team of 10 lovely people

lisajohnson comLet’s talk about the big question here - money. This is perhaps the most common question I get when people are looking to join the Speaker’s Academy. Of course, if you invest in developing your career as a speaker, you want to know if it could become a profitable endeavor for you
The truth is that the fees for professional speakers can vary widely depending on their experience, expertise, popularity, and the type of event they are speaking at. Some speakers may charge a few hundred dollars for a local event, while others may charge tens of thousands of dollars for a keynote address at a large conference
According to the National Speakers Association, the average professional speaker fee ranges from $3,000 to $7,500 per keynote presentation, with some speakers charging up to $20,000 or more. However, fees can also be negotiated based on the speaker's availability, the presentation's length, the audience's size, and other factors. Also, professional speakers may also charge additional fees for travel, lodging, and other expenses, which can add to the overall cost of the speaking engagement
"Success is when
Most people want to become paid speakers overnight, but the reality is that it takes time to build up your skills as a professional speaker if you wish to be paid for it Like with any profession, the more experience you have the more you are worth. So it is wise to start building your speaking experience with smaller stages and build it up to the point where you can show that you have enough speaking experience to charge for it This may come in the form of testimonials, recommendations, the content of your speaking, endorsements, and results from your past speaking engagements
Some people may argue that you do not need to have a personal brand in order to become a paid speaker, but the truth is you want to represent your brand and your personal brand to represent you as a speaker This should be professional, clear, and concentrate on who you are, the topics you speak on, the level of credibility and thought leadership you have, and why someone should spend their event budget on hiring you as a professional speaker.
Most well-paid speakers possess not only speaking experience but also specific industry knowledge or skills Many events are looking for specific industry experts to deliver a keynote presentation to their audience because they have built credibility and thought leadership. This takes time and specific focus on your part to develop your credibility and thought leadership before you raise your speaker fees.
Preparation is the key to becoming a paid speaker As the saying goes - success is when preparation meets opportunity And in most cases, it is too late to start preparing when an event organiser reaches out to you with a paid speaking opportunity. Opportunities are plentiful for professional speakers, and even when there is no budget for speakers, it is possible to make money and build a successful business in public speaking, but it takes vision, commitment, and perseverance
Want to become ready and prepared for paid speaking opportunities? Join the Speaker’s Academy today and learn how to position yourself as a professional speaker who is ready to be paid to speak on stage Take this step to propel yourself toward becoming a paid speaker

People often attempt to live their lives backward: they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier The way it works is the reverse You must first BE who you really are, then DO what you really need to do, in order to HAVE what you want
It all starts with YOU And the concept you have about you Your self-concept What you believe about yourself to be true, is the way you see yourself This is 95% of your results Strategy on HOW to do something is only 5%
Look at two people who go to the same training, listen to the same speaker, have access to the same content, and one of them becomes successful and the other one still struggles It’s not the training, it’s the person
YOUR RESULTS IN LIFE CAN NEVER BE GREATER THAN YOUR SELF-CONCEPT
Period You can have all the strategies in place, and all the resources but the step number 1 is always self-concept You’re amazing, do you know that?
As a person, who went through multiple miscarriages, I know, the fact that you were born is a miracle in itself You’re a miracle Read this sentence again Feel it Accept it You were born perfect No adjustments are needed
And then along the way, programmed by family, teachers, society, religion, and institutions, you stopped believing it Maybe you even went through some traumatic experiences, and you stopped believing it even more
But this is not who you really are The real you has been dusted, pushed down and it’s time to claim your power back So, let’s adjust your selfconcept to awaken the confidence rockstar within, so you feel courageous enough to do anything
Ask yourself this – if I could put a label on my forehead, what would that be? Shy, not good enough, ugly, stupid how do you see yourself? Your actions are always in sync with the way you really see yourself Not how you want to see yourself, but how you really feel in your skin For instance, if you consider yourself to be shy, you won’t ever sit in the front row or raise your hand when the speaker asks if anyone has questions (even if you do) Because shy people don’t do that You don’t do it on purpose, this is your subconscious running your behaviour and your subconscious operates on your current self-concept.
Now decide on your new self-concept – how do you want to see yourself, what’s your new label, who are you? Confident, successful, smart, powerful, unstoppable, choose the label you truly desire (don’t think about the how here, choose what puts your soul on fire).
Write a script of that new version of you (the real you) like the screenwriter creates a movie character. How do you think, feel, talk, behave, act, make decisions, and present to the world? Use present tense: I’m a top-class businesswoman, I’m magnetic to my ideal clients, I’m a confident speaker, I value myself and my services, I sell with ease, and I look like a million dollars. Start acting like that woman now. Walk like her, talk like her, look like her. Be her. This is who you truly are.
Align your energy Bob Proctor said the law of vibration is the primary law because vibration causes attraction It says: “We don’t get what we want, we get what we vibrate with ” When we operate from low frequencies like anger, grief, jealousy, sadness, and frustration, we can’t attract high-level emotions like love, joy, or happiness Watch your feelings and if you don’t feel like you want to feel, change it. Focus on gratitude, love, and abundance, and do what makes you feel happy to experience, to adjust your energy and attract what you desire. It’s magic. Change your focus. What you focus on expands. Stop focusing on what you lack, what’s wrong with you, because there’s nothing wrong with you at all. Focus on what you’re good at, and what your strengths are, and make a list of a minimum of 20 achievements in your life, things that you’re proud of. And read this list out loud every day. Again, feel it. Where focus goes energy flows. This is how you strengthen that confidence muscle. I talk more about this in my Confidence Rockstar podcast check here. Watch your language. Your words create your reality. Be mindful of what comes out of your mouth. Eliminate the words like: “I can’t”, and “it’s impossible”. Be careful with generalisations like never, always, everywhere, everyone, no one: “No one ever buys from me”, “I always have such bad luck”. Look at the emotional aspect of the words –something happens and we say: “It’s a disaster”, well – war is a disaster, earthquake is a disaster, and people dying is a disaster. What’s going on in our life hardly ever is a disaster. Flip your words from negative ones to positive ones. Use the words that you want to see in your reality, and it will come.
Your turn You’re a miracle You weren’t born to play small, to fit in You were born to stand out, to shine your light, to inspire others, and to make this world a better place Claim it Awaken that Confidence Rockstar Within to Go for Your Greatest Desires You deserve this

"Focus on what you’re good at and what your strengths are. "
You hear about the positives the majority of the time, but the negatives are rarely discussed. This is very unfair to those that are starting out, assuming everything will be peaches ‘n’ cream until they get their start in becoming an entrepreneur. Then they realize this is not what they’re expecting because the entire truth was not revealed. If they had known beforehand, they probably wouldn't have started the business.
Business at times can resemble a rollercoaster ride. You will experience ups and downs, so don’t ever assume that everything will move at a steady pace without any interruptions, or else you will be highly disappointed. Also, always be ready for the unexpected.
Sometimes as an entrepreneur, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. Especially when you’re trying to multi-task or when things aren’t working out as planned (for example customers, orders, sales, inventory, teamwork, funds, survival, and more). It may make you think about giving up everything you’ve worked for. That’s when some may decide to get off the rollercoaster because they thought it was going to be a smooth and easy ride
Depending on the size of the company, if possible, and if needed, make sure you have a team. Your team can consist of family members, employees, volunteers, interns, mentors, etc. When you have a team, it makes things a little easier when it comes to delegating, but there may come a time you may have to do it alone. You will also realize that everybody is not for you, or they may not be a good fit. Also, be able to accept criticism in business. Everyone is not going to agree with you always.
Sometimes, the way you start in the beginning may not be the way you finish in the end in business. Those that were there for you, in the beginning, may not be there for you down the road, but there should be no harsh feelings. You must remember that others may have family, other jobs, and a business of their own too. At the time, they may have been there just for that season, or sometimes circumstances may occur beyond their control.
When starting a business and trying to get your product out into retail, you may experience quite a few ‘no’s’ but don’t give up. Just keep moving to the next retailer, and it will happen eventually. Remember your reason for starting. Locations are also important when looking to place your products. It’s also up to you whether you will accept the agreement that is presented to you for your items to be placed Sometimes it may not work out or it may not be an ideal fit
BEING AN ENTREPRENEUR IS NOT AS EASY AS MOST PEOPLE MAKE IT APPEAR.
" Sometimes, the way you start in the beginning may not be."
When starting in business, it’s up to you to make the decision if you will be able to be there for your family, work your full-time job and your side hustle all at once When balancing your family, work, and side hustle, it’s very important to keep all three separated This will make everyone happy and eliminate a lot of chaos Also, you may have to decide to reduce your hours of work at your full-time job to be able to continue your side hustle It’s best to continue working your full-time job until you’ve worked your side hustle for at least 2-3 years When you see a tremendous amount of growth in the side hustle (2-3 years), then you can plan on whether you should quit your full-time job
You will also have to determine if you will work online, at a storefront, or in retail Will you be able to afford the overhead for a storefront?
What type of business structure will it be (for example proprietorship, partnership, or limited liability company)?
One of the most rewarding touches about being an entrepreneur is that you’re sharing your gift with others that God has provided you with by assisting and providing others with a solution to their problems This makes the process all worthwhile

When we love ourselves, we become unstoppable The way we show up to face challenges, what we tolerate in our relationships, and whether or not we go after our dreams all depends on us loving ourselves
Self-love is about more than our self-care routines It is a part of an identity and mindset that we embody It is about deeply knowing that we are inherently valuable and deserve to have our core needs met.
All of us are born with a love for ourselves. As we experience pain in life, we develop false beliefs about who we are, based on the opinions of others. We start to tell ourselves stories about why we aren’t worthy or why we aren’t good enough. We put other people’s needs above our own and forget about ourselves. This lack of belief in ourselves can demotivate us. Self-love is the fuel we need to pursue our extraordinary goals and the good news is that we can do something to cultivate it.
It’s time to declare our love for ourselves! Creating a self-love statement will help you skyrocket your self-love no matter how you currently feel about yourself. It is natural to have moments of self-doubt and insecurity when we’ve been triggered. When we find ourselves being hyper-critical toward ourselves, writing our selflove statement will remind us of our worth.
It’s important to take a moment of quiet reflection before starting this activity. It helps to be seated in a comfortable position without distractions. Ground yourself and become present with your body for a moment. Put your hand on your heart and feel the rhythm of your heart beating. It’s okay if there is discomfort at first. You are having a human moment. When you feel more at ease physically, move on to step two.
At the top of a blank page, write the following selflove declaration: “I am valuable I am good enough I deserve to have my core needs met ”
Pause and check in with how that statement feels There is likely a part of you that knows that statement is true There are also likely many stories from your past that may come to the surface to convince you that it isn’t true. You need to get clear on what these beliefs are, so you can skyrocket your self-love and move on to step three.
As your negative stories start to challenge your self-love declaration, list them all as ‘even if’ statements For example: “Even if I don’t feel good about how my body looks right now, I am valuable I am good enough and I deserve to have my core needs met ” And: “Even if I was rejected for a position I really wanted, I am valuable I am good enough and I deserve to have my core needs met ” Continue to list all the reasons you think you aren’t good starting with ‘even if’ followed by your selflove declaration and then proceed to step four
How does the version of you who fully loves herself and knows her worth show up in the world? What would be different if you were operating from this belief? For example, the woman who knows that she is valuable even if her body doesn’t meet society’s standards might dress up in a way that sparks joy The woman who knows her value might believe that not getting the position she wanted is actually a sign that something better is on its way to her, and she will continue to invest in herself and prepare for it when it does
We tell other people how much we love them all the time. It’s important to continue to declare our love toward ourselves. When we write our ‘even if’ statements, we are affirming that our self-love is not conditional based on our mistakes or whether someone else sees our worth.
Continue to repeat your personal self-love statement until it’s part of your identity. There is no limit to how much you can do this activity. Anytime you need a confidence boost, grab your journal, make the declaration and watch as you skyrocket your self-love!

Pay Monthly $9.97/month
Pay Yearly $97/year
Because four years ago, that's what freedom looked like to me too.
In 2017, I started my business as a VA, charging just £12 an hour In the following two years, I slowly increased my rate, but it only got me so far, and in 2019 I hit a wall I was maxed out! I hit an income ceiling and worked every hour I had available with my then 3-year-old still at home.
I was exhausted. I have lots of lowend retainer clients who wanted my attention 24/7 but were only willing to pay for 5 hours a month and picked over every minute paid for. I had no boundaries, was a prolific people pleaser and didn’t value my time or skillsneither did they. I was tied to my business and couldn’t work out how to take time off without a financial hit. I was fed up with getting by, the feast and famine months, and giving away so much time and expertise for free. I decided I had to stop feeling sorry for myself and expecting things to change without making a change. I realised that no one was coming to do it for me.
So, I became clear in my actions, aligned with my goals and what I was trying to achieve and decided on the best way to do it - learning how to package my services. It took me from a general VA charging £25 an hour (offering every service under the sun) to becoming a goto Canva Designer and Content Creator. This enabled me to triple my income and halve my working hours in just 18 months, and that was just the start!
"I realised no-one was coming to do it for me. "
Three years later, I’m a Coach, Mentor and Educator earning money I never thought possible, working 20-25 hours a week and doing work I adore. It’s changed my life, and that’s why I am so passionate about what I help my clients do - leverage their skills, expertise and voice to be visible, make an impact and build happy and profitable businesses. Because what’s the point of raking in the cash if you’re miserable doing it?
Creating freedom in my business came from doing these five things (and they are where I’d recommend you start, too!):
This allowed me to specialise in a few key areas and build my depth of knowledge, which helped me show up with more confidence and clarity in what I did, who I helped and the transformation I offered This, in turn, helped me to build a reputation as a go-to in a particular area, improve the quality of referrals in my world and increase the professional value of my skills and services Not only that, stepping into your expertise and focusing on doing more of the work you love helps to lift your energy and increase your mindset, motivation and commitment! The more you love what you do, the more likely you are to talk about it, helping you be more visible!
I began to do this by packaging my services and using a value-based pricing structure focused on selling outcomes instead of time. I then began to leverage my time more effectively by using one to many models in my training courses, for example. Learn to value your time. It’s your most valuable resource, and if you don’t value it - nobody else will either.
Introducing different types of revenue streams into my business (and creating recurring and passive income).
This allowed me to start layering my income and increase my cash flow and profit
Creating recurring revenue in my business also helped create financial stability and consistency, giving me a base layer of income and taking away the pressure of starting from 0 each month Introducing passive income into my business also helped to increase my profit without adding many extra hours (apart from upfront creation and set-up).
I stopped trading time for money wherever possible, and this allowed me to make my time more profitable.
"Learn to value your time. It’s your most valuable resource, and if you don’t value itnobody else will either."
Introducing passive or semi-passive income into your business is a brilliant way of monetising your skills, and it doesn’t have to be difficult. You can start with creating and selling something as simple as an ebook, a masterclass or a set of templates. Think about what your ideal clients might need as a first step of support Do you already have something in your business you could monetise in this way?
You can either promote and sell these low-end products directly to your audience or use a lead magnet to pre-qualify and offer the passive product as a next step, either as a tripwire or as an offer in a follow-up email nurture sequence
If you want to create something higher value, you could consider putting together a selection of resources and creating a bundle Or, perhaps create a mini course addressing some of the main struggles your ideal client has If you have already run a live course in the past, you could offer access to the recordings and generate passive income easily that way
Another easy way of creating passive income is using affiliate links You could start by looking at the software you already use (and like!) and recommending this to your audience and clients Each time they successfully sign up through your affiliate link, you will generate some passive incomethis can soon add up!
I began my passive income journey by selling Canva template bundles on my website. I have also created a semi-passive income with courses and ebooks
If you want to start taking your first steps towards freedom, firstly, get clear on what it is you are trying to achieve What would freedom look like to you right now? And if that feels too big and too far away, start small What would your first step to freedom look like? Start there and keep building! The most important element when it comes to creating freedom and seeing any progress in your business is to work on your mindset and energy and start taking action - however messy!
I’m only part of the way through my journey in creating financial freedom, and what freedom looks like to me has changed drastically over the last six years of being in business I can’t wait to see what freedom looks like in the next six!

Welcome to the first Business Insights Column where we will share business news, trends, tips, ideas, and more, to help you unleash your business potential and thrive. This month’s theme is Passive Income, which for many people is a way to achieve financial freedom by having money work for them instead of working for money. For some, this allows for more time to travel, spend time with family, or focus on parts of your business that you’re super passionate about.
Before you jump ahead, remember that all streams of income have an initial setup but the goal is to have it setup once and have it run in the background while you sip on your margarita in Ibiza or spend an extra hour playing with your kids.
Leverage the knowledge, products/services, and following you already have by creating membership groups where members can find support, community, knowledge, value, and more.
Think of ways to create digital products that complement your current offerings For example, e-books, online courses, stock photos, templates, music, etc can be sold multiple times without requiring much ongoing effort
Through blogging, social media, Youtube, your website, etc. you can promote other people’s products or services and earn a commission for each sale or referral made through your unique affiliate link.
If you have a popular blog, podcast, Youtube channel, or website, consider selling ad space on these platforms Set a price for a banner or sponsored ad, advertise it, and have them send you the graphics so all you need to do is have it on your site or mentioned in your podcast
This allows you to sell products online without the need for inventory or handling the fulfillment process If you are a graphic designer and want to sell shirts, this is a great option because you don’t have to make the shirts or ship them, it is done for you
" Achieve financial freedom by having money work for you instead of working for money. "
"Create digital products that complement your current offerings."
Ok, firstly, let’s get clear on whether you should use Meta ads (FB & IG ads) in your business. There is no ‘should’ in business, but ads when used as part of your wider business strategy are a great idea to grow your business, create awareness, help position you as the go-to and the expert in your industry and increase visibility.
Ah, visibility. That’s what this whole creating a successful business thing comes down to. Being consistently visible in the places your ideal clients are. You can be the absolute best at what you do, but if you aren’t visible and are the world's bestkept secret, then that won’t grow your business. So with that clear, let’s get back to ads.
Meta ads are extremely powerful when used correctly. And that’s another side note, they do need to be set up correctly, a quick ‘boost’ just won’t cut the mustard I’m afraid. Most people I meet have heard about these mystical powers of ads, but just don’t know where to start So let’s give you some of my main tips so you start off as you mean to go on
Are they really magic wands to overnight success?
Alas, there is no magic wand in creating a successful business full of freedom And ads are no different Anyone telling you they arerun in the opposite direction Yes, they are super powerful No, they can’t guarantee you overnight success (sorry to shatter your dreams) Whilst we are on the topic of guarantees, the ROI that ads bring is bigger than just the immediate financial gains Growing an audience, nurturing, increasing visibility, and positioning yourself as an expert are all returns on your ad investment
Who are your dream clients?
I know this gets covered a lot, but please don’t head into ads manager without being crystal clear on who your ideal (DREAM) client is. So if you haven’t done the ideal client work for a while, do the research first. Where they hang out. What they watch. What apps do they have? Where they shop. Where they are now. Where they want to be. What their gaps are. What keeps them up at night? What are their fears? It’ll help you no end with your targeting and messaging.
"Meta ads are extremely powerful when used correctly."
Business Manager is absolutely necessary to be able to run ads It’s a central hub where you keep all your Meta assets (page, pixel, ad account) and allocates who you want access to all of these assets Please don’t be tempted to do a quick boost, then wonder why ‘that £50 brought you nothing and was a waste of time’ There are some hoops to jump through in the first case, like verifying your domain (currently no longer mandatory, but still best practice), bringing all your assets into your business manager, and turn on 2-factor authentication
The simple word that brings on a cold sweat to many business superwomen It’s like kryptonite It’s actually not as scary as you think It’s a small piece of code generated by Meta within the ads manager that you pop into the header section of anywhere you are sending traffic. So your website, landing pages, thank you pages, and sales pages. This code (or ‘pixel’) collects data about all those visitors. This is extremely powerful so the pixel can retarget those same people at a later date if you want or can find you more of those similar people to show your ads to (genius, right?)
One of the things I always advise new business owners to do sooner rather than later, when starting out in business, is to build an email list. Organic traffic is amazing, but adding Meta ads into your marketing strategy, will get you in front of more potential dream clients, and grow your list, and that all-important visibility even faster.
The first question you get asked when you start to create your first Meta ads campaign What is your objective? There is a time and a place for most of the objectives, however, the majority of the time, you’ll be choosing the ‘conversion’ objective, usually for a lead These ads will be shown to people that are most likely to take action and ‘convert' I E sign up for your freebie, your challenge, your masterclass, and make a purchase So if you are creating ads for these, this is the objective for you!
The’ how long is a piece of string’ question I advise you to reverse-engineer this How many people do you want in your free challenge or masterclass? At an average cost per lead, how much would it take to get those people? I’ve got Meta ads running for clients with leads that cost £0 40 and £5 50 There are so many variables that will affect Meta ads, so it’s important to understand that you will need to test, test, and test a little more.
I hope this snippet of information has inspired you to tap into the pool of clients waiting to hear from you via Meta ads. If you do anything after reading this, please make sure you have a pixel installed anywhere you are sending traffic and if the thought of setting up your own ads fills you with terror, get help.
If you have a smaller budget - you may be better off using that money to learn how to use ads yourself, rather than outsourcing. But you don’t necessarily need a huge budget, you can get started with £10 / $10 a day.

Leadership A concept many think they understand, yet so often the people in leadership positions aren’t there because they are good at leading More likely than not, they are a leader because they were the employee with the most years at the company, they were hired externally and promised leadership training that they never fully receive, or they started their own business and had to assume the leadership role.
What most forget is that leadership plays a pivotal role in achieving goals, inspiring others, and driving positive change. It isn’t simply being the boss or managing people. It’s about developing your team and inspiring them to believe in the mission of the company. It’s about listening to opinions, concerns, and thoughts knowing that you don’t know everything or always have the best ideas.
As the Women in Business Club and Women Thrive Media have grown, and my role expanded, I have been given the opportunity to lead a team. It has been a few years since I’ve been in a leadership position outside of my business and I started to realize that I needed a refresher on leadership best practices.
That is when I came across the platform LevelUp Leader. LevelUp Leader is an online leadership skill-building platform that provides users with summarized content, action videos, downloads, and more. As I’ve been using the platform, I discovered four main reasons why those looking to 'Level Up' their leadership skills should have access to LevelUp Leader.
If you’re in a leadership position, you know your time is the most precious commodity you have. With LevelUp Leader, they understand this. The modules are condensed into easy-to-digest content that any busy leader can read or watch.
One of the best things about LevelUp Leader is that they take leadership books from experts and summarize them for you. So instead of having to spend time reading the full book, they have done it for you; leaving you with the key takeaways, highlights, and best practices. This eliminates the dread of having to read a book if that isn’t something you’re interested in, or have little time!
"
Leadership plays a pivotal role in achieving goals, inspiring others, and driving positive change."
LevelUp Leader currently has 54 modules with a wide range of topics and skill-developing content From Leadership Essentials, Presentations, Coaching & Mentoring, to Working Remotely, Ethical Behavior, and Emotional Intelligence The modules they have are sure to be useful for anyone in a leadership position
Not only this, but they regularly update with new modules and work with leaders, experts, authors, and entrepreneurs to bring the best practices and information to their users What I enjoy about the LevelUp Leader experts is that they are as diverse as the concepts They have military leaders, TEDx speakers, coaches, and more, that you can hear from directly It brings in a wave of knowledge, experiences, and lessons you wouldn’t get anywhere else
As I’ve been going through the modules, I’ve already found useful and actionable skills that I will take into my next team training, as well as learning new concepts like Managing Change, Fostering Innovation, and Effective Meetings.
No matter how many years of leadership you have under your belt taking the time to develop your skills, expand your knowledge, and learn new concepts makes you an even better leader. You acknowledge that you too have areas of personal growth development; inspiring your team to do the same.
Nowadays, we live in such a digital world that it is almost expected that online learning should be something you do at your own pace. LevelUp Leader understands that everyone’s schedule is different and the amount of time available is going to range from leader to leader. With their modules, you are able to jump around and learn the concepts you want to learn first. You are able to prioritize the lessons meaning if something happens during your day where you think, “I could use a Corporate Culture refresher” all you need to do is jump into LevelUp Leader, go to that module, and listen, read, write, or download the lessons you need.
No matter what role you have, in some way, you are a leader. In some way, you are training to be a leader in your field, an expert in your industry, etc. Even if you are an entry-level team member, you will have opportunities to show up as a leader. Whether it's through time management skills, being a leader for your peers, or inspiring and encouraging others; everyone has the ability to lead.
LevelUp Leader is a wonderful tool for any business owner, corporate team, or small business to have because it is an opportunity for you to develop your people from within Instead of hiring out leaders, you can hire within knowing that they are trained and have skills in leadership No longer do you need to promote the longest-standing employee, but rather the person that shows leadership qualities and a willingness to learn, listen, and adapt It’s important to realize that leadership is not a one-size-fits-all approach and different situations may require different leadership styles But with LevelUp Leader, you have the tools and resources to develop your leadership style, enhance your skills, and become the leader you’ve known you could become With you at the helm, you’ll contribute to the success of individuals, teams, and organizations

Did you know that women entrepreneurs earn only 88 cents for every dollar that their male counterparts earn? This startling statistic highlights the challenges faced by women in the business world. As a fellow woman entrepreneur, I understand the struggle and the desire to break free from this inequality.
In this article, we will explore how you can transcend these barriers and achieve extraordinary success from overcoming negative beliefs to implementing proven, organic social media marketing strategies, and you’ll also discover the keys to landing high-end clients - effortlessly. Let's dive in!
Before we delve into the solutions, it's essential to acknowledge the hurdles that women entrepreneurs are facing today The gender pay gap is just one aspect of the inequality present in the business world Many women struggle with not knowing what to post, not understanding how to position themselves as authority leaders, not having enough time for social media, and moving with no real know-how and/or strategy in leveraging these powerful platforms Because posting just to post ‘something’ won’t work It’s an art form, there should be an intention behind your content However, it's crucial to remember that you are not alone in this journey
The first step in my three-step methodology is to have what I call a business breakthrough It's where you demolish any negative beliefs, fears, and selfdoubts that may have been instilled in you You may not even know these even exist or that this is what’s really been holding you back from showing up online as the powerhouse you are! As a mastercertified NLP business coach, I rewire my clients' unconscious minds for success Where they cannot and will not fail
After such deep internal and transformational work, you’ll then require a simple yet powerful strategy for organic social media growth Such proven techniques have rewarded countless women with multiple five-figure months This strategy begins with getting crystal clear on your objectives and what you truly want to accomplish in life and in business By defining your goals, you can stay focused on the tasks at hand, avoiding distractions and ‘shiny object syndrome’ that so often derails progress
"
Posting just to post ‘something’ won’t work."
Having a business breakthrough and a powerful strategy is essential, but they mean nothing without implementation Support, guidance, and accountability are crucial to keep you on track and focused toward your business goals
Transforming your business and achieving your desired results does not take time, it takes courage Imagine being fired up and focused after letting go of all your fears and doubts Imagine having a stepby-step blueprint that will help you get there
Then imagine having complete and utter focus in implementing said plan What would happen if you woke up every single day knowing exactly what needs to be done and why How fast would things change for you, for your business?
As a fellow woman entrepreneur, I have experienced the challenges and uncertainties that come with building a successful business In fact, I started my coaching business when I lost my Marketing Director position That same week, I found out I was pregnant, and when the father found out, he left me too So there I was No job, no money, no insurance, a baby on the way, and completely alone
It took me over a decade to become an overnight success, and one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along my entrepreneurial journey is that going it alone is a rookie mistake
Seek the help you need from someone who has accomplished what you desire to accomplish for yourself Because no successful person got there alone No one! To your limitless success

Because they think by posting a few times on social media customers/clients will just 'find them' and buy immediately, which isn't really how it works. It takes consistency and a variety of activities to achieve.
I BELIEVE THAT IT COMES DOWN TO THE LACK OF AUDITING THERE'S NO WAY FOR US TO ACTUALLY DETERMINE HOW MANY PEOPLE ONLINE ARE REAL HUMANS AND HOW MANY ARE BOTS
PATIENCE IT'S NOT GOING TO ALL COME IN A DAY WE MUST GIVE TIME FOR THE SEED WE SOW TO GROW
We Asked: Why do you think some people are struggling to find clients or customers online?
Many are unable to clearly identify their market and ideal clients Others do not realize the value of marketing and do not see it as an investment but an expense Many of those that do market, fail to do so with proper messaging and frequency
They're convinced they can 'fix' a prospect's problem before they've assessed their own M E S S --> the "struggle" comes from having Muddled messaging, Eluding execution, Slacking systems, or Shy about sharing what you have that SOLVES the prospect's problem
PERSONALLY, I THINK WE ARE OVER STIMULATED BUT WHAT EVERYONE SAYS YOU SHOULD BE DOING ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SO YOU START LOSING THE AUTHENTICITY BEHIND YOUR BRAND AND THE CONTENT YOU'RE PUTTING OUT

Because they think by posting a few times on social media customers/clients will just 'find them' and buy immediately, which isn't really how it works. It takes consistency and a variety of activities to achieve.
THEY HAVEN'T NICHE DOWN FAR ENOUGH ONCE YOU'RE REALLY SPECIFIC AND CLEAR ON YOUR NICHE THEN YOU'LL UNDERSTAND HOW TO ADVERTISE AND ATTRACT YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE
Because they aren't delivering consistent valuable content that helps solve their ideal customers' problems They also might not be asking for the follow, asking for the sale or creating true connections
BECAUSE THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHERE AND THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND THE BUYERS JOURNEY.
I THINK GENERALLY THEY ARE EITHER TRYING TO BREAK INTO AN ALREADYSATURATED MARKET OR LOOKING IN PLACES WHERE THEIR CUSTOMERS/CLIENTS DO NOT REPRESENT A HIGH CONCENTRATION OF THE USERS.
I think a lot of it has to do with potential customers being bombarded by ads and spam constantly As a small business owner, it's hard to beat the algorithm and gain trust virtually with the consumer when there are so many fraudulent sites out there nowadays, and the lack of ethics among those operating as such
It comes down to the qual of the “offer” Most offe are generic, non-specific untimely, and not super relevant A powerful offe will overcome many obstacles The better you offer, the less convincing y need The more diluted yo offer is, the less it will resonate with your idea target audience
WHAT I SEE DAILY IS A LACK OF UNDERSTANDING AROUND RELEVANCY OF CONTENT AND GOOGLE ALGORITHMS OF WHICH THERE ARE MANY ! IT IS ABOUT EARNING YOUR POSITION ON GOOGLE AND ONLINE AND THEN HAVING THE RIGHT CONTENT

Being a mompreneur is a thrilling adventure that requires determination, resilience, and a deep love for both motherhood and entrepreneurship I am Amber, a mother of five beautiful children, a passionate entrepreneur, and the proud owner of a new and thriving digital marketing agency, AB Tech Solutions, LLC
Throughout my journey, I have dabbled in various fields and run multiple types of businesses Today, I am excited to share my insights and experiences on mastering the dual role of motherhood and entrepreneurship
Embracing the Chaos:
As a mom of five, chaos is a constant companion. But rather than fearing it, I have learned to embrace and navigate the beautiful chaos that comes with managing a bustling household while building a business. By accepting that some days will be challenging and unpredictable and that not everything will go according to plan, I have been able to find a sense of peace and adaptability amidst the chaos.
Defining Priorities: Juggling motherhood and entrepreneurship requires careful prioritization. For me, my children's wellbeing always comes first. They are my greatest source of inspiration and motivation. Setting clear boundaries and establishing dedicated time for both work and family has been crucial. By defining my priorities and ensuring quality time with my children, I have been able to create a harmonious balance that nurtures both my family and my business.
Building a Support System: No mompreneur can do it all alone.
In fact, 3 out of 5 working moms say they are thinking about the children, husband, and home while at work. Which makes building a reliable support system invaluable on this journey Whether it's seeking help from family, collaborating with other mompreneurs, or hiring a trustworthy team, having a support system has allowed me to delegate tasks and focus on what truly matters Surrounding myself with like-minded individuals who understand the challenges and triumphs of balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship has been a constant source of encouragement and inspiration
"Accepting that some days will be challenging . "
Time management is crucial when juggling multiple responsibilities As a mompreneur, I have become adept at maximizing efficiency in both my personal and professional life This means prioritizing tasks, leveraging technology and automation, and being intentional with my time By streamlining processes and eliminating unnecessary distractions, I have been able to make the most of every precious moment
Amidst the whirlwind of motherhood and entrepreneurship, it is essential to prioritize self-care I have learned that taking care of myself is not a luxury but a necessity Whether it's indulging in a hobby, practicing self-reflection and mindfulness, or simply taking a moment to recharge, self-care allows me to show up as the best version of myself for both my family and my business You can read more about this in an article I wrote on preventing burnout!
Being a mompreneur means constantly adapting and evolving. Embracing flexibility and remaining open to new possibilities has been key driver of my success. As an entrepreneur, I have had to navigate through different industries and adjust my business strategies to meet changing market demands. Flexibility has allowed me to embrace opportunities, learn from setbacks, and grow both personally and professionally.
The journey of a mompreneur is a remarkable one, filled with joy, challenges, and immeasurable rewards. As a mother of five, an experienced entrepreneur, and the owner of a thriving digital marketing agency, I can attest that mastering the dual role of motherhood and entrepreneurship is possible.
By embracing the chaos, setting priorities, building a support system, maximizing efficiency, prioritizing self-care, and embracing flexibility, you can navigate this beautiful journey with confidence and success. Remember, you have the power to create a thriving business while nurturing a loving family - the possibilities are limitless.

Have you ever considered swapping your everyday office attire for something different, something that feels more like you? Do you worry about appearing unprofessional if you try a new look? What if I told you that this could actually benefit your career?
Not conforming to the traditional office dress code could pay dividends, according to a study conducted by The Harvard Business School The ‘Red Sneakers Effect’ examined how nonconforming behaviors can infer elevated status and competence among coworkers within the work environment
However, standing out, being visible, and having a presence in the workplace are crucial, particularly for women who continue to be under-represented and under-valued in the corporate world. A report from Zippia, the Career Expert, has found that women take up only 35% of the senior US management positions and earn 47 4% less than their male counterparts, despite having the same qualifications
As women, we are programmed to believe that ‘following the crowd’ is required in order to be socially accepted In the workplace, that may mean conforming to the usual workwear attire of dull colors, button-down shirts, and staid suits It is believed that embracing this dress code conveys professionalism and competence that allows us to be taken seriously, that deviating from the norm could be deemed as risky, potentially resulting in social disapproval or rejection from peers It requires confidence and power to step outside the parameters and experiment with something different
What’s interesting about the ‘Red Sneakers Effect’ is that engaging in non-conforming behavior actually elevates the perceived status and competence of the individual Ordinarily, judgments are based on appearance, verbal and non-verbal behaviors, attitudes, and communication choices However, in this study, it became clear that adopting a non-conventional approach is a major factor when it comes to crafting and creating a personal brand It demonstrates autonomy, confidence, and fearless determination to try something different, which consequently infers increased status and competence in the eyes of coworkers, particularly among those who yearn to be unique and individual
And isn’t status, presence, and recognition what we all strive for in the workplace? Interestingly, the study revealed that non-conforming behavior was only considered as ‘powerful’ if it was intentional, meaning that a ‘fashion faux pas’ would not be viewed in the same light So how can you maximize this concept to achieve your professional goals?
"It requires confidence and power to step outside the parameters."
Color is powerful It gives presence, increases visibility among a sea of gray, and can create a gut response in both the wearer and the observer By this, I mean that it can psychologically impact perceptions
Imagine this You arrive at a networking event where everyone in the room is dressed in typical office attire Think neutral blazers, simple dresses, or smart pants with a plain button-down shirt You enter the room, dressed professionally and appropriately for the occasion But your blazer is red You’ve paired it with a beautiful, cobalt-blue, silk blouse and a fabulous pair of navy culottes You’ve styled this with a fantastic pair of heels and a striking, colorful bag What does this outfit say about you? It tells everyone there that you aren’t afraid to be visible It infers confidence, guts, and a fearless ability to be unique
But there’s more to it than that In color psychology, red symbolizes energy and drive It shows ambition and power While too much can appear aggressive, when teamed with calming, reliable, and trustworthy, blue, it sets just the right tone Colorful accessories reveal more about your personality and demonstrate that you aren’t prepared to sit back unnoticed
It should also be noted that wearing colors can benefit the health and emotional wellbeing of the wearer Colors can trigger psychological and neurological responses in the brain which cause the hypothalamus gland to release feelgood hormones Orange is fabulous on days when you feel drained and tired, while blue releases oxytocin, which can alleviate feelings of stress and anxiety, making it a great color to wear to an interview.
The workplace has changed significantly since 2020. Working from home has become the norm for many. As a PowerStyle coach, many of my clients have described the confusion around dressing for work. After dressing in traditional office attire for so long, they feel lost when it comes to power dressing for this new world. The ‘Red Sneakers Effect’, in a post-pandemic era, allows an opportunity for workwear reform. It gives scope for non-conventional dressing, therefore maximizing the potential of its associated power, status, and perceived competence
Instead of opting for the typical office dress code, try injecting some personality into your look Try dressing down tailored pieces with more relaxed pants and sneakers Replace heels with loafers and dressy trainers and swap shirts for a striped Breton T-shirt, layered under a fabulous blazer or boucle-style jacket
Embrace styling options that are effortless and add texture to your workwear wardrobe Texture will instantly update and add interest to your outfit, helping to create a signature look h

As the owner of a women's financial firm, the Women’s Wealth Boutique, I transition advisors from being employees of another firm to running their own financial planning practice. It takes a lot of courage going from W2 employee to running your own business, from employee to employer. You are switching roles and with that comes great responsibility and also great freedom! Freedom to do it your way, freedom to hire who YOU want to hire, and to set your own boundaries. Yet the responsibility to keep the lights on, to keep payroll going, and to have your name attached to a business. It isn’t just your business that opens its doors to the public, but it is YOU. So how you show up for your business is how the world will show up for you
I started my career in the financial industry on my father’s payroll, and it allowed me to spend money freely, to be overgenerous with my time. As I switched roles over the years to opening up my own corporation, I saw how I valued my time and money differently. There is such a small, if any, boundary to where I end and my business begins. My business is on my mind ALL.THE.TIME! If my business fails, I fail as a human being, this notion prevents so many women from taking the plunge and starting their own company. But it also ignites certain women who are ready to take the challenge These women are my women, they are the women I have invited into our Women’s Wealth Boutique, a financial firm built by women for women
"How you show up for your business is how the world will show up for you. "
After transitioning so many women to our firm as well as coaching them at other firms, I’ve learned a thing or two By that I mean, I’ve learned mountains of lessons from my own trial and error to other’s triumphs! I always swore everything goes wrong in my world so that I can prevent it from happening to other women! So here is my list of dos and don’ts when you begin your new venture to save you the painful lessons my failure is your path to success you are welcome lady ;)!
As financial advisors, you might think we know all there is to know about money Yes, you need to have a plan! Yes, you need to have a budget! Yes, you need to have risk management i e insurance to protect against risks But is that all there really is? Not quite mama!
Mistake #1 is not having enough start-up money for initial investment costs and for ongoing expenses until you have enough recurring revenue. Start ups are like building a house, the costs are always, 100%, definitely more than you expect. To avoid this mistake, begin saving for your initial investment into your new business and have a surplus for the beginning months. Have a resource fund to tap into so you don’t feel tight every time payroll comes up!
Due to the lack of excess funds, you try to cut costs and do everything yourself which results in paperwork mistakes, a website taking three times as long to build, or not having the time or energy to be out there selling for your business! Don’t forget to pay yourself from the beginning, even if it is smaller than anticipated so you are always on the budget
This results in opportunities missed, prospects falling through the cracks, and burn out! Yes, a l ot of burn out because all these to dos still exist in your mind and on your to do list. Now you have a never ending to do list with no support that keeps you a prisoner to your own business. Take time every week to write down your processes and begin creating your own protocols. Now whenever you hire, you already have the system in place to teach them!
You have your energy scattered over too many tasks because they are trying to save money or are trying to control it all, or a combination of both When your energy is split among too many projects, things take too long to get done, get rushed through, or get dropped Prioritize your projects by length of time to implement, cost of project, and return on your investment from it so you know where to invest first in your business
As one project gets finished, move onto the next priority so you know everything will get done to build out your infrastructure
Nothing in my world would exist without the support of my team, my family, and my mission
I will leave you with my last piece of advice that has been ingrained into my mind: You become who you surround yourself with! Invest in your team, your leader, your support, and see the profits roll in ladies!
Yes, you need to have a plan!
Yes, you need to have a budget! Yes, you need to have risk management."
