Women’s health nursing with Frontline Insourcing
Women’s health nursing offers a profoundly rewarding career—combining clinical expertise with the opportunity to transform lives through compassionate, patient-centred care. At Frontline Insourcing, we are proud to work in partnership with the NHS to deliver high-quality women’s health services using world-leading medical devices and consumables in ambulatory settings.
Our expert-trained teams support the safe and timely delivery of colposcopy, hysteroscopy, urogynaecology, and gynaecological procedures—freeing up vital theatre capacity for complex surgical cases and ensuring every NHS clinical space is used to its fullest potential.
By joining our nationally recognised, clinically led workforce, you will play a meaningful role in improving access and outcomes for women across the UK—while advancing your career in a supportive, innovative, and values-driven environment.
A day in the life of a nurse hysteroscopist
As a Frontline hysteroscopist, you will work independently, managing your own caseload and delivering exceptional, patient-centred care. Your role will contribute directly to improving access to women’s healthcare across the UK—helping to reduce waiting times and make a meaningful impact.
At Frontline, specialist nurses operate within their areas of expertise across colposcopy, hysteroscopy, urogynaecology, and minor gynaecological procedures. You will collaborate closely with consultants, nurses, and healthcare assistants to provide high-quality, compassionate care in ambulatory settings—delivered through gold-standard clinical pathways and fully aligned with national guidance from NICE, BSGE, and RCOG.
Whether leading nurse-led clinics, conducting advanced diagnostics, or guiding patients through see-and-treat procedures, you will be at the heart of a service designed to deliver exceptional care, clinic by clinic, patient by patient.
Starting my day with purpose
Each day begins with a clinical huddle to review the patient list, safety protocols, and individual priorities. As a team, we prepare the room — checking scopes, equipment, consumables, and documentation to ensure everything is in place and ready for safe, effective care.
At Frontline, we are expected to deliver high-quality, patient-centred services. Clinics run to time, documentation is completed accurately, and every woman is supported with clarity, dignity, and clinical excellence from start to finish.
Leading the team
As the nurse in charge, I oversee the smooth running of the clinic—coordinating colleagues, allocating tasks, and ensuring everything is in place to deliver safe, high-quality care.

“Frontline Insourcing’s managed services empower us to deliver safe, compassionate care to women across the UK. Working in gynaecology is a privilege—and being part of a team that truly values quality, dignity, and respect makes all the difference. I’m also proud to share my knowledge, guide others, and support the growth of our clinical teams.”
— Caroline Bell, Women’s Health Lead – Frontline Insourcing | Council Member – BSGE | Chair, Hysteroscopy Division – BSGE | Faculty Educator – RCOG | Vice President – International Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy | Course Facilitator & Examiner – University of Bradford | Research Collaborator – University of Aberdeen
Clear communication is key, as I work closely with both Frontline Insourcing’s operations team and Trust staff to keep the clinic flowing efficiently from start to finish.
Balancing my responsibilities
Throughout the day, I balance hands-on clinical care with mentoring junior staff and supporting patients through every step of their journey. As a team we work collaboratively with staff working in their own NHS hospitals, utilising all team members skills and knowledge.
Ending the day with impact
As the clinic winds down, I review patient outcomes, update records, and ensure everything is prepared for the next session. It’s deeply rewarding to know that each clinic contributes to reducing waiting times and giving women the timely, compassionate care they deserve—delivered safely, efficiently, and without delay.
Clinicians may also be expected to manage patient results and enter outcomes into a designated data collection platform.
The role of frontline insourcing in women’s health
Insourcing brings expert clinical teams directly into NHS Trusts, using existing NHS estate to deliver care in familiar, trusted environments. Unlike outsourcing, which often fragment services across multiple providers, locations, and appointments—insourcing keeps care integrated, coordinated, and within the NHS framework. Insourcing plays a critical role in reducing waiting times by increasing appointment capacity and delivering streamlined, one-stop clinics. By combining multiple diagnostics or treatments into a single visit, insourcing minimises the need for repeat appointments, unnecessary patient travel, and administrative duplication. This approach not only enhances patient experience and clinical efficiency, but also contributes to lowering the NHS’s carbon footprint by reducing travel-related emissions and optimising use of existing NHS estate.
The Women’s Health Division at Frontline Insourcing was founded by renowned specialist hysteroscopist and colposcopist, Caroline Bell. Supported by a senior team that includes RCOG and BSGE committee members, national educators, and clinical leaders, we bring decades of experience in delivering NHS-aligned managed services. Together, we are proud to lead the delivery of high-quality, ambulatory gynaecology care—clinic by clinic, patient by patient.
“At Frontline, I’m able to focus fully on patient care—bringing my colposcopy expertise into clinics that truly make a difference. Every session feels purposeful, and I’m proud to be part of a team that delivers care with both precision and compassion.”
