Student Leadership Team Report

Lilli Anderson, 2022 Student Club President & Lauren Ward, 2022 Senior Resident Assistant What a start to the year we have had in 2022! There have been a range of sporting and cultural events underway, where Woozas have continued to dominate the ICC with performances of the highest calibre. Despite the challenging start to the year, with COVID-19 still lingering and the unexpected floods, everyone has made the most of their first semester at Women’s for 2022. Notwithstanding some challenging weather, sport well and truly kicked off for the year, having participated in tennis, soccer, table tennis, hockey and AFL, with some outstanding results. Our last sporting event of the semester was the ICC Regatta, with the Women's VIII taking out first place and the College winning rowing overall. Women’s is actively climbing the ICC sporting ladder. Trials for netball, touch and rugby 7’s are also well underway. With Semester 2 getting closer every day, Women’s is giving 100% to bring the cup home. In other news, our cultural Woozas have also been doing us proud. Currently sitting in second place on the ICC cultural ladder, our efforts so far have been incredible. Most notably, our girls have participated in chess, broke to the semi-finals in debating, performed in College Idol, sailed to second in Choralfest, and blitzed Bandfest with an exciting third place. With Dancefest to look forward to in Semester 2, the opportunities to participate are endless. Despite the end of the ICC Community Cup, we have certainly remained worldly Woozas. Our participation in Shave for a Cure, Clean Up Australia Day and assistance with the flood clean-up have been admirable, and everyone is already looking forward to our annual Do It In A Dress fundraiser. A massive shoutout to our Social Convenor, Millie Murray, for planning and throwing a very successful Women’s @ Home for 2022. All our guests spent an amazing night up in the clouds with a great performance from John’s Jazz Band. We know the anticipation is already building for the Women’s Ball and Rush Week Exchange in Semester 2. All-in-all, we could not have asked for a better Semester 1 in 2022. There are so many more special memories to be made and our community spirit has never been stronger.
