could never imagine, that one day I would be actively engaged in civil society or working for a nongovernmental organization, particularly advocating for women’s rights. I have never been a victim of an abuse or any sort of discrimination; however, we see millions of women who suffer on the daily basis.

Discrimination of women is not necessarily about physical abuse but rather than institutionalized oppression, meaning that when a woman is highly qualified for a job, it is practically impossible for her to achieve success in the field of her interests.

I am a mother of two daughters and I want my children to live in the country in which every human being is born free and equal regardless of the gender, race, skin colour, religion, ethnicity, nationality or political and ideological views – as the article 14 of our constitution states.

I am happy that I can share my broad aspect of experiences with others, most importantly students. I am pleased that I am able to discuss and analyse different types of social issues with group of people with common interests and aims.

Throughout my life, I have faced a lot of obstacles; yet, I still managed to achieve my goals.

Nevertheless, I was not an exception when it comes to life barriers, as a result of the break-up of the Soviet Union, Georgia was going through extraordinarily hard times such as civil conflicts, two separatist wars and economic and political transitions that left a mark on each and every one of us. That period of time hindered any sort of progress in the country. The fields of art, culture, science, and many others stopped developing and in fact, practically started deteriorating.

I am a founder and Chairwoman of Women Business Council in Georgia (WBCG) in which common vision, aim, desires, and emotions are combined and realized. WBCG is the place that unites women with the same goal to support and empower each other. In Georgia, there are various women support organizations with diverse paths, however, each of them share mutual mission to create a balance between women and men.

uring my years as a student, Georgia declared independence and I began to realize that independence was not the end but only the beginning of a hard road ahead. During my student years, the country was facing a civil war and serious economic constraints. Once, I was walking home from the university, when bullets passed by me so close that my life flashed before my eyes. Nevertheless, despite living through such an environment, I still believed in myself and continued pursuing my goals. At that stage, the country had been encountering genuinely new political and economic relations; therefore, it was important that professionals managed these processes.

I As Georgia was moving toward a free market economy, my willpower grew to follow my passion of studying International Financial and Tax Law in the UK to contribute to the economic development of my country. My dream came true and I won the Chevening Scholarship to study in the University of Edinburgh.

I have been extremely lucky to be able to participate in fundamental economic reforms’ implementation under USAID development projects. The reform areas have included banking, tax, customs administration and other regulatory reforms.

I am currently working on my PHD dissertation while, being a mother and a wife.

Therefore, I want every young woman to know that if you believe in yourself, nothing is impossible. I wish for you to dream big and fight for it.

hen I think about how it all started, I had a feeling that this was the job that I was meant to do.

My memory goes back to the 1990s in post-Soviet Georgia. During that period of time, Georgia was going through various civil conflicts and secessionist wars in Abkhazia and South Ossetia that left people devastated.

I was standing front of my classmate’s house and trying to hold my mother’s home-canned produce before opening the gates. I was afraid that they would slip out of my hand, so I was holding them tight, while thinking: “I just need to get to the house, don’t drop them.” I finally entered the house, inside which refugees of the war were sheltered. As I was getting out from the house with free hands, I was actually taking a heavier burden with me – grateful gaze and hopeful eyes, standing at the same gate thinking about how I could change the lives of these people that I left behind. I suppose that entering through this gate made me realize how much each person can alter the world.

At that moment, I believed that I would be able to make this dream come true one day, except, I did not know where to start.

Later, I presented my idea to collect different types of goods for refugees to the students in my class.

This is how it started; the road that seemed easy, but full of challenges at the same time.

I was born and raised in Poti, Georgia; however, in order to obtain my university degree, I needed to

დავიბადე და გავიზარდე ფოთში. უნივერსიტეტში სწავლა ოჯახისგან მოშორებით, თბილისში დავიწყე. პატარა ქალაქიდან ჩასული გოგოსთვის ირგვლივ ბევრი სიახლე იყო. მოლოდინით სავსე, ახალი, საინტერესო ცხოვრება, თავისუფლება და დამოუკიდებლობა, უამრავი ადამიანი ქუჩაში და ,,დიდი ქალაქის ჩირაღდნები“. უნივერსიტეტის დამთავრების შემდეგ ფოთში დავბრუნდი, მუშაობა საქართველოში ერთერთ მსხვილ კორპორაციაში ფოთის პორტში დავიწყე. მაღალპროფესიონალურ გუნდთან ურთიერთობით, ბიზნეს და საჯარო სექტორთან მჭიდრო თანამშრომლობით 12 წლიანი ნაყოფიერი კარიერული გზა გავიარე. ის საქმე, რასაც ფოთის პორტში ვაკეთებ ძალიან ძვირფასი და მნიშვნელოვანია ჩემთვის. თუმცა, მიუხედავად ამისა, არასდროს მავიწყდებოდა ბავშვობის სურვილი.. გადავწყვიტე მოხალისეობრივ საქმიანობაში ჩავრთულიყავი. მეგობრებმა შევქმენით საქველმოქმედო ორგანიზაცია, რომელშიც გაერთიანდებოდნენ სიკეთის ქმნაზე, ცვლილებებზე და ქალაქის განვითარებაზე ორიენტირებული ადამიანები. ფონდს „ბილივი Believe“ ვუწოდეთ, რადგან თითოეულ ჩვენგანს ყოველთვის სჯეროდა, რომ გულწრფელი დახმარება და უანგარო სიკეთე მოიტანდა შედეგს. პარალელურად სწავლა გავაგრძელე დიდ ბრიტანეთში, კემბრიჯის ,,ანგლია რასკინ უნივერსიტეტში“ საქველმოქმედო და სოციალური საწარმოების მართვის 2 წლიან კურსზე. იქ მიღებულ თეორიულ ცოდნას ,,ბილივის“ საქმიანობაში პრაქტიკულად ვახორციელებდი. დავიწყეთ დასავლეთ საქართველოში პირველი და ყველაზე მასშტაბური საქველმოქმედო საღამოების მოწყობა, ამ გზით მიღებული შემოსავალი დღემდე 430,000 ლარს აღემატება და უკვე 4 წელია ,,ბილივი“ ცდილობს შეცვალოს ადამიანების ცხოვრება, ეხმარება სოციალურად დაუცველ, შეზღუდული შესაძლებლობის მქონე პირებს, ქმნის ახალ შესაძლებლობებს ქალთა და გოგონათა გაძლიერებისთვის, ასევე ახორციელებს არაერთ საგანმანათლებლო პროექტს ფოთში მცხოვრები ახალგაზრდებისათვის. მთავარია, შეძლო საკუთარი შესაძლებლობების სწორად შეფასება, პიროვნული განვითარება და არასდროს, არასდროს გაჩერდე: არც მაშინ, როცა შედეგით კმაყოფილი და სავსე ხარ, არც მაშინ, როცა გეჩვენება, რომ მიუხედავად დიდი შრომისა და მონდომებისა, ის შედეგი ვერ მიიღე, რასაც ელოდი. მერწმუნეთ, სამყაროში არაფერი იკარგება, სიკეთის ყველა მარცვალს მისი ნაყოფი აქვს. ზოგი ხელშესახები და ხილულია, უფრო მეტი-აბსტრაქტული... აბსტრაქტულია ის გრძნობაც, როცა ხვდები, თავად შენ როგორ ბედნიერდები გაცემით... როგორ გაგიმართლა... სულიერად როგორ გაგაძლიერა ამ საქმემ. როცა აცნობიერებ, რომ დღეს იმაზე უკეთესი ადამიანი ხარ, ვიდრე გუშინ იყავი.

move to Tbilisi – quite far from my home and my family. For a girl from a small town, there were so many new things that I was excited about: new interesting life in the capital, freedom and independence, streets full of people and the lights that illuminate the city at night.

After graduating from the university, I returned to my hometown Poti and started working at one of the biggest corporations in Georgia, the Poti port.

Twelve very fruitful years have passed and I have gained vast experience by communicating and working with a highly qualified team, as well as in close collaboration with the government and the business sector.

My job is very important to me, however, despite this, I had never forgotten my childhood dream. I decided to become involved in volunteer work. My friends and I founded a charity organization, which would unite people with kindness and the desire to progress and to change the city for the better. We called the charity “Believe” because every one of us always believed that helping others sincerely and unconditionally would make an impact.

Simultaneously to the creation of Believe, I continued my education at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, United Kingdom. After two years, I graduated university with a degree in Charity and Social Enterprise Management. The knowledge that I attained at Anglia Ruskin University allows me to make “Believe” a better and more successful organization. I started organizing high scale charity events Western Georgia. From these events, we raised over 430,000 GEL and with this amount, “Believe” has changed people’s lives for the better.

We have been helping not only the ones in need but also contributing to female empowerment for over four years. It is also important to note that our organization carries out rather significant educational projects for the youth in Poti.

I would like everyone who is currently starting out to know that it is essential to be able to manage your resources properly and invest in yourself to grow and never stop, not even if you are satisfied with the result, and certainly not even when you think that despite of the hard-work, you did not achieve what you had intended. Trust me, nothing is wasted in this universe, every seed of kindness will eventually grow fruit. Some of these fruits are visible and can be touched, while some are more abstract. The feeling of giving to others is also abstract – when you realize how happy it makes you feel when you help others. When you realize that today you are a better person than you were yesterday. Love whatever you decide to do and work hard to achieve your goals. I

was born in the family of accountants; therefore, it affected my life decisions at some point. My mother used to work as a main accountant for a light industry center. However, after breaking up of the Soviet Union, my mother was worried about country’s transition to free market economy because she was not sure that she would be able to still work for a private sector. However, she managed to continue working as an accountant in a business industry. Despite of facing many obstacles, my mother was able to work for more than a one corporation and became very successful in her field of interest.

At the end of the 90s, my mother was going through severe health issues, therefore, I had to take over and help her. When I was younger, she used always tell me that accounting would not be hard for me since I was a mathematician, but I was hesitant to work as an accountant. This time, I had no other choice but support my mother in the hard times.

ავიზარდე ბუღალტრის ოჯახში. დედაჩემი მსუბუქი მრეწველობის გამოთვლითი ცენტრის მთავარი ბუღალტერი იყო. საბჭოთა კავშირის დაშლის შემდეგ, როდესაც საქართველოში შეიქმნა პირველი კოოპერატივები და შპს-ები, თავიდან დედა ძალიან ნერვიულობდა. პირველი სამსახურის შეთავაზება კოოპერატივის ბუღალტრის თანამდებობაზე იყო მისი პირველი გამოცდილება კერძო ბიზნესში. მიუხედავად ახალი გამოწვევებისა, დიდხანს არ უფიქრია და დათანხმდა შეთავაზებას. ძალიან მოკლე დროში ის უკვე რამოდენიმე კომპანიის ბუღალტერი გახდა.

2001 წელს სრულიად შემთხვევით მომიწია ბუღალტრად მუშაობა სამ კომპანიაში და ამ კომპანიებიდან მხოლოდ ერთს ჰყავდა მთავარი ბუღალტერი.

90-იანი წლების ბოლოს მოხდა ისე, რომ დედას ჯანმრთელობის გამო ჩემი დახმარება დასჭირდა. ადრეც ხშირად მთხოვდა, მათემატიკოსი ხარ და ბუღალტერია არ იქნება შენთვის ძნელიო. თუმცა, ვერ მითანხმებდა. საბოლოოდ კი ისე მოხდა, რომ მომიწია დედის საქმის გაგრძელება. ამ გადაწყვეტილების მიღება დღევანდელი გადასახედიდან ძალიან ძნელი იყო, მაგრამ უკან დახევის უფლება არ მქონდა - ეს დედის სურვილი იყო. როცა მუშაობა დავიწყე, მალევე მივხვდი, რომ კიდევ ბევრი რამ უნდა მესწავლა. ადრე თუ დედას ვეხმარებოდი და მისი მითითებით ვაკეთებდი საქმეს, ახლა უკვე დამოუკიდებლად უნდა გამერთვა თავი ყველაფრისთვის. იმ პერიოდში არც ამდენი ლიტერატურა იყო და ინტერნეტიც ახალი ხილი გახლდათ. ამიტომაც, დღესაც დიდი მადლიერების გრძნობა მაქვს იმ ადამიანების მიმართ, ვინც ჩემს უამრავ კითხვას დაუზარლად ეხმიანებოდა. მაბედნიერებდა, როდესაც ვხედავდი ჩემი საქმიანობით და კონსულტაციებით კმაყოფილ ადამიანებს, მეწარმეებს. ძალიან სწრაფად ეს ამბავი ჩემს ნაცნობებსა და მეგობრებშიც გავრცელდა და უკვე ისინი მიწევდნენ რეკომენდაციას.

2006 წლიდან დავიწყე „ჰოტელ კრუიზის” მთავარ ბუღალტრად მუშაობა, 2010 წელს კი აზერბაიჯანულ კომპანიაში გადავედი იმავე თანამდებობაზე. თანდათან იმატა ადამიანთა რიცხვმა, რომლებიც მთხოვდნენ ბუღალტერიის შესწა-ვლას. ასე, აღმოვჩნდი კიდევ ერთი ახალი გამოწვევის წინაშე. ვამაყობ ჩემი მოსწავლეების წარმატებით.

I made a decision to replace my mother’s position and start working as an accountant. It has not been easy to make such decision; however, I could not disappoint my mom. Since I started working, I realized that I had a long way to go. In order to become successful in the accounting field, being good at mathematics was not enough; I had to learn far more. Now, I needed to work on my own without any help. At that period of time, there was very limited literature on accounting and having an internet access was also a luxury, thus, I am very thankful to have people around me who supported me and answered all my questions without any hesitation.

As I was becoming better at my job, seeing happy customers made me want to learn more and further develop myself.

In 2006, I started working as a chief accountant at “Hotel Cruise” and in 2010, I moved to Azerbaijani company. As I was advancing in my field, I received a lot of offers to teach future accountants. I am very proud of my students ‘successful career.

In 2014, at the age of 44, I decided to get my masters at Tbilisi Teaching University with the majors in Business and Finance. Currently, I am a PHD student at the Caucasus International University.

In 2015, I found a company named “Practical Accounting Center.” The reason I created this company is to share my knowledge and experience with those, who wish to develop themselves in this field and to help others become successful. I think I have been able to achieve my goals since all my students have been employed in the accounting field.

was born, raised and married in Tbilisi. I graduated from Tbilisi Sulkhan-Saba State University with a bachelor’s degree in decorative and fine arts. After graduation, I continued working at the fine arts faculty. I found it hard to be a good wife, mother and at the same time be successful at my career. I’ve faced this challenge as many women do in our society, though I believe that if you truly want to achieve something, nothing can hold you back.

In 2005, I joined the artist’s society, which motivated me to work on my self-improvement. Afterwards, myself with a group of art designers founded “Felt House” Studio.

After three years, we changed its name into “Minanqris Saxli” (“Enamel House”). Today we continue our creative work at the studio where we teach Georgian and foreign students enamel making technologies.

We have had amazing experiences by taking part in different exhibitions in many countries worldwide. In April 2018, we are going to exhibit our new collection of enamel jewellery at the “World Trade Gallery” in New York City.

Personally, I agree with the notion that at the beginning of an art career, it is difficult for an artist to sell his/her artwork, this is part of the first steps as a newcomer. However, when an artist knows their ideal client’s profile and their desires, then he/she becomes self-confident and assured.

Now I am at the stage of my life where I want to support and find like-minded women. This is the reason why I want to become a member of the Women Business Council, with which I already have collaborative experience through events and exhibitions.

In order to identify my works, we created the brand “Januka,” which is the base of my surname. Every piece of jewellery has the name engraved on it and is being sold under this brand name. That way all rights are reserved.

In Tbilisi you can find my works at my studio, Gallery “Qissa” and Gallery “Ornamet,” and also in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

FINANCIALში ვიმუშავე 5 წელი, მივიღე საოცარი გამოცდილება და დავრწმუნდი, რომ ეს ჩემი სფერო იყო. შემდეგ გადავედი ერთერთ ტელეარხზე, ვმუშაობდი დილის გადაცემაში, მქონდა საკუთარი რუბრიკაც საქართველოს სხვადასხვა კუთხეში მოგზაურობაზე. მოკლედ ოცნება, მემუშავა ტელევიზიაში, ავიხდინე.

trong, successful woman, it is probably difficult to define the word success correctly, it is individual and varies for each person. However, I think that many people share the idea that success and strength are the result of their self-confidence and determination. The definition of the word success changes with growth, but if you really want to be called successful you should know the answer to the question - what do you want to achieve in life?

I have a very special reason to be strong, to be always in shape, to not be weak and care for a successful future. It is my little, energetic girl Alexandra. I want my daughter to understand that success doesn’t come without hard work. It’s impossible to achieve anything without faith. I want her to study that women should be self-confident, believe in yourself, ready for any challenges, always think about progress and study solving problems.

I believe that I still have a long way to go to real success, but I always feel my strength. I feel it in my family, in my friends and even at work, which is the best place for my goals and desires to be realized.

I always try to be an optimist and it helps me a lot.

I think, that this feature is essential for achieving any goal. I believe in positive energy and I think that the environment around us will always fit our mood.

I am Tako. Like 80 percent of girls, my childhood dream was to become a ballerina and I imagined my future only on stage. By the way, old pointes still hold a place in my wardrobe. After graduating from school I decided to go to Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film State University to study TV and Radio Journalism. I believe that if there is any correct step in my life, one of the most important decisions was to choose journalism as a profession. As a 17 year old student, I dreamed of being on the TV screen as a talk show anchor. At 18, I became a journalist at “FINANCIAL.” I remember that I was scared about the editor’s opinion when writing articles but they really liked my articles. I worked for “FINANCIAL” for five years and had an amazing experience which assured me that this was my field.

Then I moved on to a TV channel where I worked on a morning program. I had my own section about travel in Georgia. My dream to work on the TV screen came true Without “FINANCIAL,” I could not go on for long, and after about three years I returned and we created a TV show for “FINANCIAL” with a wonderful team. We began production and I became a video editor and we still create many projects with pleasure and success. We work with large companies, promote tourism development in the country, record video interviews on various interesting topics, organize thematic forums and events. We have a lot of products that we develop and improve.

Today I am an editor of “GLOSSY” magazine and I think I have found myself. I always liked photo shoots, photos of beautiful, glamorous girls, looking through tasteful clothes and choosing an interior design. Today, I place all above mentioned in “GLOSSY” with the support of the wonderful “FINANCIAL” team and my husband. I believe that the strong partner always pushes you towards success. In our case, we help each other to succeed and encourage and stand beside each other.

მონაწილეობას ვიღებდი სარეკლამო რგოლებში. რა თქმა უნდა, იმ დროისათვის მოდელის პროფესია არც თუ ისე პოპულარული იყო საქართველოში და გადავწყვიტე, საკუთარი შესაძლებლობები საზღვარგარეთ განმევითარებინა. გამიმართლა და პირდაპირ მოდის დედაქალაქში - პარიზში მოვხვდი, სადაც 11 წლის განმავლობაში ვცხოვრობდი. პარიზმა რადიკალურად შეცვალა ჩემი ცხოვრება, გავხდი წარმატებული მოდელი, რომელიც მსოფლიოს გარშემო მოგზაურობდა და მუშაობდა მოდის ინდუსტრიის მთავარ ფიგურებთან. მქონდა ბედნიერება, მემუშავა ისეთ დიზაინერებთან, როგორებიც არიან: კარლ ლაგერფილდი, სონია რიკელი, კრისტოფ დეკარნინი (ბალმეინი), ლეონარდი, ჯონ გალიანო, ფოებე ფილო (სელინი), ჟან-კლოდჟითუა, სტეფანო პილატი (ივ სენ ლორანი), ჟან პოლ გოტიე, ალექსანდრ მაკქუინი, უნგარო, ჟივენში და ბევრი სხვა. სწორედ მათ შთამაგონეს, ნებისმიერი საქმე გრძნობით მეკეთებინა. მოდის ინდუსტრიაში 11-წლიანი წარმატებული მუშაობის შემდეგ გადავწყვიტე, დავბრუნებულიყავი მშობლიურ ქალაქ თბილისში. შინ დაბრუნებისას ვიცოდი, რომ ჩემი ცხოვრება რადიკალურად შეიცვლებოდა, მაგრამ პარიზში მიღებული გამოცდილება დამეხმარა, მოვმზადებულიყავი ცვლილებებისათვის. თბილისში შევხვდი ჩემი ცხოვრების სიყვარულს და შევქმენი ოჯახი. მიუხედავად იმისა, რომ გავხდი მეუღლე და დედა, უარი არ მითქვამს ჩემს გატაცებაზე. დავინტერესდი ფოტოგრაფიით და დავიწყე გადაღება ჩემი პირველი პროფესიონალური კამერით, რომელიც ერთ-ერთი სამუშაო ვიზიტის დროს შევიძინე იაპონიაში. თავდაპირველად, ჩემი ოჯახის წევრებს ვუღებდი ფოტოებს, შემდეგ კი მოდელებთან მუშაობა შემომთავაზეს. გარკვეული დროის შემდეგ ჩემმა გადაღებულმა ფოტოებმა, საკუთარი განმასხვავებელი ნიშნებით, დიდი პოპულარობა მოიპოვა თბილისში იმიტომ, რომ ეს ფოტოები იყო ქართულისაგან განსხვავებული, ევროპული სტილის. ხალხი ჩემი ფოტოებით დაინტერესდა, რამაც მომცა ბიძგი, გამეფართოებინა ჩემი გატაცების სფერო. ამჟამად მაქვს განსხვავებული შემოთავაზებები, როგორებიცაა: სხვადასხვა კომპანიისათვის ფოტოების გადაღება, კერძო ღონისძიებები, გაზეთები, წიგნები, რეკლამები და ა.შ. ფოტოგრაფიული კარიერის გარდა, საკუთარ თავში აღმოვაჩინე სამკაულების შექმნისა და ქსოვისათვის საჭირო უნარები. როდესაც ჩემი ხელით შექმნილი სამკაულებით საჯარო ღონისძიებებზე გამოვჩნდი, მივიპყარი საზოგადოების ყურადღება, მათ შორის იყვნენ ქართველი დიზაინერები და მაღაზიების მფლობელები. მალევე შემომთავაზეს, განმეთავსებინა ჩემი შექმნილი სამკაულები და ნაქსოვი სამოსი რამდენიმე განსხვავებულ მაღაზიაში, როგორებიცაა „დოთს“ და „ქისა“. ამ ეტაპზე ვმუშაობ ჩემს ახალ კოლექციაზე, რომელიც, იმედია, უფრო დიდ წარმატებას მომიტანს.

After very successful 11 years, working in the Fashion industry, I decided to come back to my hometown Tbilisi, Georgia. By coming back to home, I knew my life would change completely, but I was ready for a transition with the experiences that I have obtained in Paris.

In Tbilisi, I met love of my life and created a family; however, becoming a wife and a mother did not hold me back from following my passion. I began a photography career with my very first professional camera that I bought in Japan during one of my working trip. I first started photographing my family and later, I received an offer to shoot models for personal books. Throughout the time, my photographs with its own characteristics gained popularity in Tbilisi, because my photography is different from Georgian, it’s more European style. Seeing people being attracted to my work gave me a bigger urge to expand my passion.

Currently, I am receiving variety of proposals, such as taking photographs for different companies, private events, magazines, books, advertisements, etc.

In addition to Photographic career, I developed skills in jewelry making and knitting. I was wearing my own jewelry when invited to public events, which gained attention not just from people but also from Georgian designers and boutique owners. Later, I received an offer from couple of different stores such as “Dots” and “Qissa” to sell my handmade jewelry and knitted garments in their stores. At this time, I am working on my new collections, which hopefully brings me even more success.

y name is Nato Nizharadze and I am a founder of Public Relations (PR) Company, “Spika.” I have been working as a journalist for 15 years; however, despite of being happy with my job, I decided to simultaneously study Public Relations. This field develops and changes as we advance, which allows me to grow and learn more every day. It is important to progress in the modern society as it will not only benefit you to grow as a person but also, become successful career wise.

People usually assume that PR is just about media relations or social media management, yet, in reality, it is a strategy to form a precise communication with the public. Of course, this should happen by considering client’s requirements.

I decided to follow PR because I have always wanted to use my skills toward something positive such as enabling people to see the infinite possibilities within themselves. I think it is important for all of us to see the world positively and help the others to do the same; therefore, I created my own PR Company.

One of the main inspirations that helped me to start my own business was Women Business Council in Georgia. When I became a member of this organization, I met many wonderful and successful women, who aspired me to create something valuable by my own. I would like to encourage other young women to be engaged in the civil society because such engagement will open up so many doors that you do not even know exist.

Furthermore, it is greatly important to be passionate about whatever path you decide to take, otherwise, you won’t be able to succeed.

A

s a child, I always believed that if you work hard, you will be able to achieve your goals. Today, I can say that hard work that I invested in myself has payed off. I was born in Tbilisi, Georgia; I have a husband and four children and despite of creating a family early, it has never interrupted with my goals to create something valuable.

Very first job that I started was at the age of 16 at the Ministry of Finance at the department of Human Resources. Afterwards, I began working at the Revenue Service and simultaneously studied at the university. Moreover, I have been occupying leading positions at the different accounting companies since 2004.

In 2012, together with my partner, I have established “Georgian Audit Company” (GAC). Fortunate

In 2016, we created a training center, which is a significant achievement for us. It is important because it functions as the tool to educate and further develop the future generations. This training center allows not only the beginners to learn but also already experienced accountants to acquire more knowledge and advance themselves in this field.

For me the biggest passion is to help other human beings; thus, it is important for GAC to be engaged in the charity work. My co-workers and I are actively involved with such contribution to the society. We think that it is our job to help others in need; therefore, we always participate in the different types of donations. Recently, we joined the blood donating event in which every stuff member contributed. Furthermore, we help homeless and children’s shelters on a daily basis.

Kindness is contagious, when we are kind to each other, we make each other stronger!

I

am a doctor and I am very fond of my profession even though I have worked in many fields in the past years. I was a Director at International College and Rector at the European International University. In parallel, I managed a private company together with my team. I also manage International Relations Centre focused on development of tourism sector and education, Union of the Business Ladies, to support women in business, and Georgia, Asia and Africa’s Chamber of Commerce, seeking to strengthen trade relations.

As a business lady, I think the balance between my professional and personal life is the main achievement in my career. Having a husband, three kids, two grandchildren, and running businesses at the same time are not easy tasks to handle. People say that business has no gender and the road to success is not covered in flower petals . Still, I always follow my character and work on my self-development.

I am happy and proud that together with my team, we have achieved goals that many would consider unattainable. The example of such achievement is the Global Business Forum, that was conducted by the Union of Business Ladies’ team of female entrepreneurs, and was the first global business forum in Georgia. Two hundred delegates from 17 different countries participated in our forum. We never imagined that we would accomplish such a significant result.

Many novelties await us, such as the Global Business Forum 2018, planned for October 5-6 and it will be larger than the previous event. I do believe that everything is achievable through willpower and faith in yourself.

ვფიქრობ, როგორც საქმიანი ქალისთვის, ჩემი მთავარი მონაპოვარი არის ბალანსის დაცვა პირად და საქმიან ცხოვრებას შორის. გყავდეს მეუღლე, 3 შვილი და 2 შვილიშვილი, ბიზნესის მართვასთან ერთად არ არის მარტივი. როგორც ამბობენ, ბიზნესს სქესი არ აქვს და წარმატებისკენ მიმავალი გზა არ არის ია-ვარდით მოფენილი. თუმცა, ჩემი ხასიათიდან გამომდინარე, მუდმივი ძიების და თვითგანვითარების პროცესში ვარ. წინ ბევრი სიახლე გვაქვს, მათ შორის, 2018 წლის გლობალური ბიზნეს ფორუმი, რომელიც ჩატარდება 5-6 ოქტომბერს, ღონისძიებას წელს უფრო მასშტაბური სახე ექნება. ჩემი აზრით, ყველა ოცნება მიღწევადია, მთავარია მონდომება და საკუთარი თავის რწმენა.

ქალი. ასევე ვფიქრობდი მეც და დღეს შემიძლია ვთქვა, რომ ამ მიზანს მივაღწიე. მოგესალმებით, მე ვარ მაია მახათაძე, სასტუმრო ’კრონპალას თბილისის’ გენერალური დირექტორი. წარმატების მისაღწევად ბევრი შრომა, მაქსიმალური დატვირთვა, დიდი ნებისყოფა და, რაც მთავარია, დრო დამჭირდა. ამასთანავე, ყოველთვის ვცდილობდი, ვყოფილიყავი ჩემი ოჯახისთვის ყურადღებიანი დედა და მზრუნველი მეუღლე. მყავს არაჩვეულებრივი შვილები და ერთი შვილიშვილი. ჩემი ოჯახი ჩემთვის უდიდესი სიმდიდრე და სიამაყეა. მე და ჩემს მეუღლეს სამივე შვილი განსხვავებულ ასაკში შეგვეძინა, შესაბამისად ისინი ერთმანეთისგან აბსოლუტურად განსხვავებულები არიან. მათთან ყოველდღიურ ურთიერთობაში ვრწმუნდები, რომ ცხოვრება ყველა ეტაპზე მართლაც რომ საოცარია. შვილი-შვილი კი საერთოდ უცნაური აღმოჩენაა.

Today, I can easily say that I have achieved my goals.

I am Maya Makhatadze, General Director of the hotel ‘Cron Palace Tbilisi’.

In order to become successful, I had to work extraordinarily hard and be greatly determined. In addition to my career, I am a mother, a wife and I have been always trying to be caring for my family. I have amazing children and one grandchild.

For me, my family is the greatest wealth that I will ever create.

I have been working in the hotel industry for a long period of time, however, as far as my career advancement goes, I was promoted and became a director of the hotel at the Cron Palace Tbilisi.

However, there were days when we were starting everything from the scratch. We were creating a team to lead the business and writing conceptions and standards. hat unites those who have their own business? I would say ambition, energy, devotion and optimism. Although, it is not easy to be successful in business. Uncertainty, hard work, stress and fatigue, are known feelings, especially at the beginning. Once, one wise man compared an entrepreneur to someone riding a lion. Everyone thinks “Oh my god, he is so brave!” Reality is the man himself is scared to be eaten by the lion.

After 15 years of corporate experience, I established my company “Mindworks.” Despite industry expertise, a European education and experience in consultations and a wave of optimism, I felt discouraged. I remember, one day I made a “mood graphic,” showing my swings of optimism and hopelessness during the day.

Entrepreneurship is an activity, a state of mind and a mentality. It’s an ambition to change the world. It’s that kind of ambition and state of mind for me to search for my true purpose in life, while I was shifting from one company to another, until I found myself as an entrepreneur and “Blossomed.”

It sounds funny when I say “Blossomed,” but this word defines the state I was in, the flow of ideas, energy and confidence, you get when you know you are on the right path. Exactly in that moment of inspirational energy, I created “Smart Nut.”

Now I help my students find that state of mind and true purpose. I consider it my moral obligation to support Georgian women to “awake.”

I often think, “Is it a mistake to ward girls off the difficulties, or teach them that business, politics and math is only for a man’s brain, or even that anything she chooses to become should be faultless and done perfectly?” It is impossible to achieve success without failure. It is impossible not to fail in business. Today’s modern business ideology, that in various organizations are based upon, is that one must make mistakes in order to avoid larger losses and damages in the future.

The norm that the society imposes on us mostly serves to make women flawless, rather than to acknowledge the value of women.

In conclusion, what can I do as a woman to empower other women? First, I can talk and explain the concept to men, but more importantly I must talk and explain it to women. That is the reason I always raise this subject and hopefully it helps people to think a little more about this issue.

was 16 when my husband and I created a family and had our first child. Suddenly, the word “I” became “we” and it was quite an immense responsibility.

Raising a child, studying and taking care of a family, while also thinking about long-term perspectives, is definitely a hard task at a young age, however, it was that exact lesson that taught me: “with love and patience you can achieve anything, and one must never stop searching for one’s own purpose in life.”

That is exactly what led me to the PR Academy.

I have always believed that a country’s and society’s development originates from a quality education. Therefore, I wanted to create a place where people would have had a possibility to gain knowledge through self-realization. When we started our

first training program, I realized that I would dedicate my entire life to education.

We began the business by renting a training space and after one year we managed to rent an office.

Soon, with a great team of professionals, we created an innovative educational system, which gives students an opportunity to maximize their potential and be successful while learning and self-exploring.

“Everything that happens happens not around you but for you”-I often repeat this phrase to my students, because I truly believe that any occurrence, any sorrow or triumph has an impact on your life and you can learn something from it.

It has already been five years since the PR Academy has established itself on the education market and expands its horizons each year. For three years, the PR Academy has been managing the Warsaw University Masters programme in Georgia.

The success of this programme and of our masters’ graduates motivated us to create an institution where all stages of a quality education will be accessible in one space, such as: informal or vocational education, state or international, bachelors, masters and PHD programmes.

The construction of the new university building has already been initiated, and the next academic year will begin there.

To love what you do and see that your work benefits thousands of others brings great happiness.

When people ask me what I’m proud of, I always tell them these three things: The first is my family. We have 27 years of history, three children and a relationship that is a good example for many.

The second is PR Academy, which started as a small training in one room and grew to be a university, and which created an example of a successful institution, based on professionalism, human relations and good management.

The third is myself, Natia Gotsadze, a housewife, a mother, a spouse, a daughter, a principal, a lecturer, an entrepreneur and simply a woman that believes that a person creates his/her own fate.

One must not be afraid to take a step forward, our failures are nothing more than the lessons to consider for the second step, and everything is achievable if you know what you really want.

I had the opportunity to work on a number of interesting architectural, interior and show-case designs projects in France and I have gained a lot of working experience. Despite the fact that I had better career opportunities in France, I decided to return to my homeland. I wanted to share my experience and knowledge with Georgian students.

was a senior student, when I took part in one of the most important competitions and I won. This competition was held in France. It was very important phase for me that gave me significant experience and influenced my professional development.

The jewelry I create describes my personality. My jewelry and the technology of creation were incorporated into the text-book of one of the prestigious universities in Houston (USA). Nowadays, the artdesign is taught in this university using my technics as an example. Few years ago, I produced video recordings in Georgian to share my experiences with interested society online. hen Ms. Tamar Nadiradze was presenting her collection in Georgia or outside of Georgian borders, she was proudly saying: “I am honoured that I am Georgian and “Marigold” is a Georgian brand.” It is highly significant for Ms. Nadiradze that her production label states that it is produced in Georgia.

Today, brand “Marigold” is very successful, however, behind this success there are many sleepless nights and hard work. When she was asked what was the secret behind her success was, she replied: “hard work and love for your job – I love my job unconditionally, it is inseparable part of my soul and my heart, and it is an air that I cannot breathe without. Each item that we make takes part of our soul.” – Yes, this work is done with love.

Marigold’s mission to create modernized Georgian traditional attires is inspired by love of Georgia and its great history and traditions. One of the main goals of Marigold is the popularization of Georgia and its unique culture and past; thus, it is worth noting that the presentation of the brand took place in London on the 25th anniversary of Georgia’s independence.

Marigold’s mainly works on creating wedding gowns and they believe that sense of style and high quality are essential for the brand’s production. Also, one of the most important reasons that the brand has come this far and flourished is that stuff members do not perceive each other just as co-workers but as family and everybody works hard in order to take care of this wonderful Georgian family, which is called “Marigold”.

The most difficult things in life is to choose the right career path, because that influences your life and future relationships. I would like to quote Antoine de Saint-Exupry who once said “the most important luxury in life, are the relationships with others”. Maybe, unconsciously I wanted to surround my life with people who have, deep, strong and romantic souls, because Geology attracts such individuals.

Once, the university principal asked me “Do you realize that you are choosing a very difficult profession? And a fragile girl like you will have to wear soldier boots sometimes?”

I have gained notable experience in science, and I am an author of 35 scientific research works. At the same time I was a founder of the construction firm “Universe 2002”. I married when I was at my freshmen year at the University and my biggest wish was to be a good mother and also achieve success in career.

Every idea has a chance to become a reality. Nothing is impossible if you have a goal. When I realized that I wanted more from my life, I came up with the idea to create a label mark, and work with something that I knew best of all, such as precious minerals and gems. I named my brand “ZoDEA” (it’s the mix of my deceased mother’s and my little granddaughter’s names).

I am a member of the Women Business Council in Georgia. It is a community that unites successful women with one goal to support each other. With my friends I would like to expand my activity. I really wish, that people who visit Georgia will take “ZoDEA” souvenirs with them to their country and be fascinated by Georgia’s hospitality, nature and culture.

was born in one of the most beautiful places in Georgia, in Meskheti. Since my childhood, I was fond of handicrafts and always wanted to create something different.

როდესაც შვილები წამოვზარდე, გადავწყვიტე რომ მოვიდა დრო ჩემი ოცნება განმეხორციელებინა. ვიგებდი, რომ სხვადასხვა სახის ხელშემწყობი პროექტებიც არსებობდა ბიზნესის დაწყების წასახალისებლად. თავდაპირველად შევიძინე ერთი საკერავი მანქანა და დავიწყე სპორტული ჩანთების კერვა. დავდიოდი ბაზარში, ვაკვირდებოდი და ვსწავლობდი ბაზრის მოთხოვნებს, მომხმარებლის მოთხოვნებს და ამას ვუმატებდი ჩემს ფანტაზიას. მალევე გამიჩნდა ჩემი წამოწყების გაფართოვების და განვითარების სურვილი. ამ დროს შევიტყე “საქართველოს ბანკის” პროგრამის შესახებ “ქალი ბიზნესში” შეღავათიანი სესხები დამწყები ბიზნესებისათვის. მეც მივმართე მათ და გავაცანი ჩემი გეგმები რის შემდეგაც, გავიარე ტრენინგები, რომელიც პროექტის ფარგლებში იყო, სახელად “როგორ დავიწყოთ ბიზნესი”.

- არასდროს მიმიმსგავსებია თავი რომელიმე პერსონაჟისთვის, თუმცა, ბევრი მითამაშია სცენაზე და წარმომიდგენია თავი სხვის ამპლუაში სცენის გარეთაც. პროფესიულად როლში შესვლა ძალიან საინტერესო პროცესია , სხვა ადამიანი ხარ რამდენიმე საათით. რაც შეეხება რეალურ გვანცას, ჯერ საკუთარი შესაძლებლობების ამოცნობაც არ ამომიწურავს ბოლომდე და შეიძლება ვინმეს დავემსგავსო მომავალში. ახლა მგონია, რომ არავინ არავის ჰგავს

• არის დიდი სცენა, დიდი ეკრანი, რადიო, ტელევიზია, გახმოვანება და არის კიდევ რაღაც, რაც იგეგმება...

- მართალია, ბევრი პროფესიული მიმართულება შევითავსე და მენანება კიდეც რომელიმეს დათმობა, ვგეგმავ, კიდევ უფრო ბევრი შევიცნო და გამოვცადო შესაძლებლობები ისე, რომ ყველაფრის დაბალანსება მოვახერხო და სარგებელი მივიტანო იქ, სადაც ხელი მიმიწვდება .

• დღეს ძალიან მნიშვნელოვანია ქალების ინიციატივების წახალისება, თქვენ დიდი როლი მიგიძღვით. და აქვე მინდა გკითხოთ, თქვენი აზრით, ყველაზე მეტად რისი უნდა ეშინოდეს ქალს და რას უნდა ამბობდეს ხმამაღლა.

- მადლობა შეფასებისთვის , ვცდილობ, სადაც ვარ, იქ დავნერგო მოტივაცია, რადგან სწორედ მოტივაცია გვაძლევს ინსპირაციას და შემდეგ უკვე დადებით შედეგს. ერთმანეთის გაძლიერებასა და ხელშეწყობაზე უნდა ვიყოთ ორიენტირებულნი. მაშინ არც არაფერი შეგვაშინებს და არც არაფერზე დავიხევთ უკან. როცა ამაში დავრწმუნდებით, ხმამაღლა საუბარსაც თამამად შევძლებთ.

• გვანცამ გააძლიერა ბევრი ქალი, ბევრს მისცა სტიმული და გადაცემა, რომელიც თავისი ფორმატით რისკის შემცველი იყო, დღეს ქვეყანაში ერთადერთია სატელევიზიო სივრცეში, რომლის რეიტინგი დღითიდღე იზრდება და ერთგულ მაყურებელს იძენს. გვანცა, თქვენ იცით ყველაზე მეტად თანამედროვე ქართველი ქალის სატკივარი და მიზანი. გაგვიმხილეთ ჩვენც... მაძლიერებს მაყურებელი, დადებითი გამოხმაურებაც და ის დამაიმედებელი მოტივაცია, რომელსაც “ქალების ნარატივში” გაერთიანებულ ყველა ქალში ვხედავ. ყოველი ახალი დღე ახალ შესაძლებლობას აჩენს, ამ პრინციპით სვლა მოიტანს ქვეყნის სიძლიერეს და გააქრობს ტკივილს. მე არ ვაპირებ გაჩერებას და თქვენ? ...

- First of all, I would like to express my gratitude for inviting me to a magazine that works for the same values and follows those same goals, as me and my „Women’s Narrative” team. I am pleased to have a possibility to collaborate with you. Of course it is a great responsibility to tell motivational stories every morning. My main everyday narrative is diverse on TV and behind the scenes. The most important is to act for the sake of good and result oriented goals.

• What was the biggest challenge in the past, and what is it now?

- We face challenges every day, sometimes they are hidden and sometimes they are not. It is important to except them and react, in timely manner.

Although, experiences and overcoming different obstacles teach us how to react to the challenges.

I face difficulties and I believe they await me in future. This empowers us and makes us stronger.

Even after wrong decisions, one can still find the right path.

• What would be that one question that you would ask Gvantsa Lagidze at “Women’s Narrative”?

- There are so many questions come to my mind and I want to ask my guests, who come to the show, who do not know in person, that can you imagine how many questions I have to myself?

• What does your inner world looks like?

Which book, poem, movie character would you compare yourself?

- I have never compared myself to any fictional character, even though I have an experience to perform on the stage and I can also imagine myself in someone else’s character outside the stage.

Professionally it is quite an interesting process to enter the character and become someone else for couple of hours. And as for real Gvantsa, I think I am still learning new things about myself and my potentials. Maybe one day I will be able to compare myself to someone else.

• There is a big stage, big screen, radio, television, are there any other things planned out for you?

- It is true, I am combining many activities at the same time and I do not want to announce any of them. I still have more to learn and hope I will be able to manage more activities that will be beneficial for our society.

• Today, it is very important to encourage women’s initiatives, and you have played a considerable part in it. In your opinion, what is the fear that the women should speak up about?

Thank you for your appraisal. I try to motivate people wherever I go, because I believe that exactly the motivation gives us an inspiration, and then a positive outcome. We should empower each other and then nothing will frighten us and pull us back.

Once we will believe in ourselves only then we will be able to speak up.

- I am inspired by positive feedback of my audience and respondents. Every

day gives us new possibilities. I do not intend to stop.

ფინანსთა სამინისტროს აკადემია ­ საქართველოს ფინანსთა სამინისტროს მმართველობის სფეროში მოქმედი საჯარო სამართლის იურიდიული პირია, რომელიც მოწოდებულია საზოგადოების ყველა სეგმენტს შესთავაზოს საერთაშორისო სტანდარტების შესაბამისი, თანამედროვე მოთხოვნებზე მორგებული მაღალი ხარისხის სასწავლო პროგრამები. სასწავლო პროგრამები უფრო კონკრეტულად კი აკადემიის სასწავლო კურსები მოიცავს 99 სხვადასხვა თემას, რომელიც მორგებულია საჯარო თუ კერძო სექტორის საჭიროებებსა და გამოწვევებზე. ყოველწლიურად განახლებული პროგრამები კი დაფუძნებულია იმ სიახლეებსა და ცვლილებებზე, რაც მიმდინარეობს ფინანსურ, ფისკალურ და თანამედროვე მენეჯმენტის სფეროში. აკადემია ყოველწლიურად გამოსცემს კურსების კალენდარს, სადაც მოცემულია ყველა პროგრამის დეტალური აღწერა. გარდა ამისა, კორპორაციული დაკვეთების შესაბამისად, დამკვეთის სპეციფიკიდან გამომდინარე, ქმნის სპეციალიზებულ სასწავლო კურსებსაც. კალენდრით გათვალსიწინებული პროგრამებისა მიღმა, აკადემია მნიშვნელოვან უსასყიდლო პროექტებს ახორციელებს. მაგალითად, როგორიცაა: q ღია ლექციების ციკლი, რომელიც წელიწადში ორჯერ იმართება. პროექტი 1 თვის მანძილზე მიმდინარეობს, ყოველ შეხვედრაზე განიხილება სხვადასხვა აქტუალური თემა მონაწილეების მოთხოვნების გათვალისწინებითა და აკადემიის ტრენერების რეკომენდაციების საფუძველზე. q სამუშაო შეხვედრები ქალების ეკონომიკური საქმიანობის გაძლიერების კუთხით ­ „მეწარმე ქალთა საბჭო საქართველოში“ და USAID პროექტის G4G –ის ხელშეწყობით. აღნიშნული პროექტის ფარგლებშიც აკადემია ითვალისწინებს მსმენელების საჭიროებებს და მის მიხედვით არჩევს შეხვედრების თემატიკას. q განსაკუთრებით საყურადღებოა პროფესიული სასწავლო კურსები: „გახდი ბუღალტერი“, „ოფისის მენეჯერი ­ საქმეთა მმართველი“ და „როგორ დავიწყო და განვავითარო ბიზნესი“. მოცემული კურსების სამიზნე აუდიტორიას წარმოადგენს ­ კონფლიქტით დაზარალებული, იძულებით გადაადგილებული, ეთნიკური უმცირესობები და სოციალურად დაუცველი ქალბატონები. პროფესიული კურსების მიზანია მონაწილეებმა შეიძინონ სრულფასოვანი პრაქტიკული ცოდნა, რაც მათ დაეხმარება სამსახურის მოძიებაში. q უფრო მეტიც, აკადემია ახორციელებს სასწავლო და უნარების განვითარებაზე მიმართულ კურსებს პარტნიორი უმაღლესი დაწესებულებებისა და პროფესიული სასწავლებლების სტუდენტებისთვის. გამოვყოფდით ისეთ სტუდენტურ სასწავლო კურსებს როგორიცაა: „საჯარო ფინანსების მართვის საფუძვლები“ და „ფინანსების მართვის პრინციპები კერძო კომპანიებში“ სწავლების მიზანია, კურსდამთავრებულებმა თავისუფლად შეძლონ დამწყებ ფინანსისტად/ბუღალტრად მუშაობა შესაბამის ორგანიზაციაში. ასევე, საინტერესოა სასწავლო კურსი სტუდენტებისთვის „საქართველო და ევროპასთან ასოცირება”, რომელიც USAID­ის პროექტის G4G–ის ხელშეწყობით ყოველწლიურად ხორციელდება აკადემიაში. აღნიშნული კურსი ინოვაციურია და შეეხება ისეთ თემებს, რომელიც საქართველოს ევროპასთან დაახლოების პროცესს უზრუნველყოფს. საერთაშორისო სასწავლო კურსები რაც შეეხება საერთაშორისო სასწავლო კურსებს ­ აკადემია თანამშრომლობს საერთაშორისო სავალუტო ფონდთან, ვენის გაერთიანებულ ინსტიტუტთან, ჰოლანდიის ფინანსთა სამინისტროსთან და სხვა ინსტიტუციებთან. წელიწადში რამდენჯერმე ორგანიზებას უწევს სპეციფიკურ ფინანსურ კურსებს, ჩამოყავს უცხოელი ექსპერტები, გამოცდილების გაზიარებისა და ერთობლივი სასწავლო პროექტების განხორციელების მიზნით. კომპეტენციების შეფასება დამატებითი სერვისის სახით, აკადემიაში დანერგილია ელექტრონული ტესტირების სისტემა, რომელიც დაინტერესებულ ორგანიზაციებს სთავაზობს პროფესიული და პიროვნების საკვლევი ტესტირებით მომსახურებას. აღნიშნული ტესტები გამოიყენება როგორც ახალი თანამშრომლების აყვანის ეტაპზე, ასევე, არსებული თანამშრომელების შეფასებისთვის. ასე რომ, ფინანსთა სამინისტროს აკადემია, თავისი საქმიანობით, ხელს უწყობს ძლიერი სახელმწიფო ინსტიტუციისა და კერძო სექტორის განვითარებას. და როგორც ხარისხის მართვის საერთაშორისო სერტიფიკატის ISO 9001:2015 მფლობელი, ქმნის ისეთ სასწავლო კურსებსა და პროექტებს, რომელებიც მიზნად ისახავს დააკმაყოფილოს საქართველოში არსებული საჭიროებები პროფესიული ცოდნის, უნარებისა და განვითარების კუთხით.

The Academy of the Ministry of Finance

The Academy of the Ministry of Finance (Academy) is a Legal Entity of Public Law under the Minis­ try of Finance of Georgia committed to facilitate strong institutional building of the state and private sector and provide all segments of society with the best business practice trainings and high level educational programs tailored to the countries’ and individual needs. The certification and training programs at the Academy of the Ministry of Finance are built on adult learning principles and are based on modern international standards.

Training Programs Academy’s training courses include 99 different topics that are adjusted to the needs and chal­ lenges of the public and/or private sector. Annually renovated programs are based on the innova­ tions and changes in the field of financial, fiscal and modern management.

The Academy publishes planned earning course calendar annually, which provides detailed de­ scription of all programs. Besides, in accordance with corporate orders, based on customer specif­ ics, the Academy creates specialized training courses too.

In addition to the programs applicable to the calendar, the Academy carries out free­of­charge projects, such as: q Open lectures, which are held twice a year. The project is being implemented within a month. Various topics are discussed at each meeting on the basis of recommendations of the Academy’s trainers and participants’ requirements. q Workshops aimed at strengthening/increasing women involvement into economic activity of our country is organized in co­operation with Women Business Council in Georgia and USAID project G4G. Within the format of the project the academy takes into consideration the needs of the participants according to which the topics for the modules of the work­shops are selected.

Particular attention should be drawn to vocational trainings and courses such as “Become an ac­ countant”, “Become an office manager”, and “How to start and develop my business”. The above mentioned courses are targeted towards IDPs, persons impaired by conflict, refuges, ethnical mi­ norities and socially impaired. Purpose of the courses is to equip the participants with necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to find a relevant job. Moreover, academy organizes different courses for students of partner higher educational institutions.

Courses such as “Fundamentals of public finance management” and “Principles of financial man­ agement in private companies” organized for the students of economics and finance related facul­ ties are clear example of the co­operation. The aim of these programs is to equip students with relevant knowledge, which can assist them to be hired in proper organizations in financial filed. The course for students “Georgia and association with Europe”, which is funded by USAID project G4G and organized by the academy, is another interesting example of fruitful co­operation with higher education institutions of Georgia.

International Educational Projects The academy actively co­operates with International Monetary Fund, Joint Vienna Institute, Min­ istry of Finance of The Kingdom of The Netherlands as well as other financial institutions. The activities involve organization of specific training courses, seminars and workshops for Georgian and foreign delegates of related spheres several times a year. The projects are led by international experts of financial and economic field.

Competence Assessment Another important service which is offered by the academy is professional and personal compe­ tence assessment of human resources. The tools could be utilized for evaluating human resource competence both at recruiting as well as later stages of human resource development process.

For the purpose, academy owns all the necessary instruments to ensure highest quality service in this direction.

To summarize, the academy’s mission is to strengthen financial and economic awareness both in private and public sector within our country and beyond.

And as an owner of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Certificate, The Academy of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, ensures that the projects and activities mentioned above are implemented according to international standards.

• Banking sector is the tool that helps any kind of

business to develop and become successful. Since you are a representative of this area, can you tell us more about this and what does your company has to offer to the business sector.

- In general, if we look at the business development, we’ll learn that despite of the segment, area and the gender, business life cycle is the same for everybody – it starts from an idea and ends with success. “Bank of Georgia” always tries to support entrepreneurs during this cycle, help when needed, invest in development and be a partner from the beginning to the end, therefore, success.

• შეგიძლიათ გაგვიზიაროთ თქვენი გამოცდილება და გვითხრათ, უფრო ხშირად საბანკო ვალდებულებების შეუსრულებლობა ტვირთად აწვება მცირე, საშუალოსა თუ მსხვილ კომპანიებს?

- ვალდებულების შესრულება, ჩემი აზრით, თანაბრად მნიშვნელოვანია ნებისმიერი ზომის კომპანიისთვის. თქვენ იცით, რომ კომერციული ბანკის ერთ-ერთი მთავარი საქმე სწორედ ბიზნესების დაფინანსებაა, მიუხედავად ამისა, არის შემთხვევები, როცა კლიენტებს უარს ვეუბნებით სესხის გაცემაზე. მრავალი წლის გამოცდილებამ ბანკებში დააგროვა იმის ცოდნა, რომ განვსაზღვროთ, რამდენად შესაძლებელია ამ სესხით ბიზნესის განვითარება. თუ ვხედავთ, რომ ეს შეუძლებელია, სესხის გაცემაზე უარს ვამბობთ. როცა კლიენტებთან მიწევს კომუნიკაცია, ხშირად აღვნიშნავ ხოლმე ერთ მნიშვნელოვან საკითხს − დამტკიცდება თუ არა სესხი და როგორ დააწვება ეს კომპანიას. ეს საკითხი, გარკვეულწილად, ჩვენი სოციალური პასუხისმგებლობაცაა.

- 2018 წელი საკმაოდ საინტერესო და ერთერთი გამორჩეული წელი იქნება როგორც ჩვენთვის, ასევე ჩვენი მომხმარებლისთვისაც. ბევრი საინტერესო პროექტის განხორციელებას ვგეგმავთ, რომელსაც წლის განმავლობაში ნელ-ნელა წარმოვუდგენთ ჩვენ კლიენტებს. კონკრეტულ პროექტებზე ახლა ვერ ვისაუბრებ, მაგრამ თამამად შემიძლია გითხრათ, რომ ეს სიახლეები მთლიანად მორგებული იქნება ბიზნესის თანამედროვე გამოწვევებზე და უზრუნველყოფს საბანკო სერვისების სწრაფ და მარტივ ხელმისაწვდომობას.

• თქვენი ბანკი იყო ერთ-ერთი პირველი, რომელიც ქალთა ეკონომიკური გაძლიერების მიმართულებით ჩაერთო პროექტში „ქალი ბიზნესში“. ეს იყო ევროპის რეკონსტრუქციისა და განვითარების ბანკის მიერ ბევრ ქვეყანაში უკვე განხორციელებული მოდელი. რა სირთულეები გახდა თვალსაჩინო ქართველ ქალ მეწარმეებთან მიმართებით?

- როდესაც ევროპის რეკონსტრუქციისა და განვითარების ბანკისგან ეს რესურსი მივიღეთ, დავიწყეთ ანალიზი და მსჯელობა იმაზე, თუ რა პრობლემები იყო ამ სექტორში და როგორ შეეძლო ამ პრობლემების მოგვარება ბანკს. მთავარი გამოწვევა, რაც ამ ანალიზისას გამოიკვეთა, გახლდათ ქალების დაბალი ჩართულობა, ზოგადად, ბიზნესში. ამიტომ ბანკმა გადაწყვიტა, წაეხალისებინა ეს სექტორი. ჩვენი მთავარი გზავნილი გახდა − „მეტი ქალი ბიზნესში“. ზუსტად ამიტომ „საქართველოს ბანკი“ პირველი იყო, რომელმაც ქალი სტარტაპერების დაფინასების პროგრამა წარადგინა.

• თქვენი აზრით, ქართველ ქალებს აქვთ პოტენციალი, ბიზნესში თავიანთი ადგილი დაიმკვიდრონ?

• Can you share your experience with us and articulate which one of the following are more likely to not obey the banking responsibilities: small, medium or large business?

- Fulfilling banking responsibilities is equally important for any type of business. As it is known, one of the main components for commercial banking is to finance businesses; however, there are occasions when we deny client’s application. Many years of banking experience makes it easier to know how likely financing is going to participate in the development of the particular business. If we think that it is practically impossible, therefore, we deny the request to loan the money. When I work with the clients, I often highlight the important matters – if the loan can be granted and what kind of a burden it will be for the company. To some extent, this is our social responsibility.

• “Bank of Georgia” always spoils their customers with innovative services, would you be able to share some of the future plans with us?

- 2018 will be very interesting and successful year not only for us but also for our customers. We are planning to launch great deal of exciting projects, which will be slowly but surely presented to our clients during the whole year. I cannot speak about specific projects; however, I can tell you that they will be mainly focussing on quick and easy access to our banking services.

• Your bank was one of the first ones to participate in the movement of the women entrepreneurs’ empowerment. ‘Women in Business’ was the project presented by the European Reconstruction and Development Bank. Such projects have been already implemented in many different countries; however, we would like to know the complexity of this process.

- When we received the resources from the Bank of European Reconstruction and Development, we started discussing and analysing the issues that we were facing with regards to women entrepreneurship. Afterwards, we were reviewing the different ways to resolve some of these concerns and help this area to improve. As a result of such analysis, we discovered that we had extremely low ratio of women’s engagement in the business; therefore, the bank decided to encourage them to become more involved in this field. Our main message was to not only encourage but actually help women to become successful entrepreneurs. We started movement – ‘More Women in Business,’ and this is why the Bank of Georgia was the very first one, which presented the program to finance srtart-ups for newly emerged women entrepreneurs • Do you think that Georgian women have the potential to strongly establish themselves in the business?

- I think that our country has a great potential to have successful women entrepreneurs. I can talk about quite many of such examples. More engagement and concentration on growth are among top priorities and challenges of the modern business.

- მინდა გითხრათ, რომ „საქართველოს ბანკში“ დასაქმებულების დიდი ნაწილი სწორედ ქალბატონებზე მოდის. ბოლო წლების დასაქმების დინამიკას თუ შევხედავთ, ვნახავთ, რომ ეს ტენდენცია საკმაოდ მზარდია და მდედრობითი სქესი აშკარად ლიდერობს. ამას გარდა, მენეჯერული პოზიციების უმრავლესობა ქალებს უჭირავთ.

• პირადად თქვენი გამოცდილებით, რას ურჩევდით ქალებს, რაზე გაამახვილონ ყურადღება, როდესაც ბანკიდან კონკრეტული ოდენობის თანხაზე წვდომის საჭიროება აქვთ ბიზნესის დასაწყებად?

- თუ ახალი ბიზნესის დაწყებასა და სტარტაპზეა საუბარი, ჩვენთვის ძალიან მნიშვნელოვანია განმცხადებლის კვალიფიკაცია. მარტივი მაგალითით რომ გითხრათ, თუ მომავალ მეწარმეს გამოგზავნილი აქვს ჩვენთან საოჯახო სასტუმროს შექმნის იდეა და ვხედავთ, რომ მას ამ სფეროში მოღვაწეობის არაერთწლიანი გამოცდილება აქვს (მაგალითად, რომელიმე სასტუმროს მენეჯერულ პოზიციაზე მუშაობის), ეს ჩვენთვის მნიშვნელოვანი სიგნალია. საკუთარი ბიზნესის წამოწყებას თან ახლავს ახალი გამოწვევები, ამიტომ სფეროს ცოდნა, კონკურენტული გარემოს ანალიზის უნარი ჩვენთვის ის ერთ-ერთი მნიშვნელოვანი ფაქტორია, რომლითაც ბიზნესის გამოწვევების გადალახვაა შესაძლებელი.

• თქვენ გაქვთ საქართველოს ყველა რეგიონში ფილიალები, ხომ არ გაქვთ მონაცემები, ყველაზე მეტად რომელ რეგიონში ჭარბობს ქალბატონები?

- შემიძლია ჩემი გამოცდილებიდან გითხრათ, ბიზნესის აქტიურობა რეგიონების ჭრილში გენდერულ ფაქტორზე დამოკიდებული ნაკლებად არის. როგორც მამაკაცები, ისე ქალი მეწარმეები დედაქალაქსა და დიდ ქალაქებში უფრო მეტად არიან წარმოდგენილი, ვიდრე შედარებით პატარა ქალაქებში, თუმცა, ქალების თვალსაზრისით, აქტიური რეგიონების ხუთეული ასე გამოიყურება: თბილისი, კახეთი, იმერეთი, აჭარა და სამეგრელო.

• What can you tell us about gender equality in the Bank of Georgia?

- The Bank of Georgia employees rather good number of women. If we look at the past few years, we will discover that the number of women employment has grown so much in the Bank of Georgia that they have outnumbered men employees. In fact, managerial positions are mainly occupied by the women.

• How would you advice women who need a loan in order to start a business?

- If this is about completely new business and a start-up, for the bank, the qualification of the applicant is greatly important. It it significant for us to know if the future entrepreneur, who sent us an idea to open a family hotel, has years of experience in this particular business, such as managing hotels. Starting a business comes with new challenges, therefore, it is essential to be familiar with the field and having an ability to analyse it. Above factors are among those, which will help the future entrepreneurs to overcome the business challenges.

• The Bank of Georgia has the branches in every region of Georgia, do you possibly have the statistics of which region has the highest female population?

- I can tell you from my personal experience that general factors do not play a role in the regions.

Women and as well as men are more actively engaged in business in the bigger cities compared to the small towns. However, women are particularly involved in the regions of Tbilisi, Kakheti, Imereti, Adjara and Samegrelo.

Baia Abuladze is the founder of Baia’s Wine, a young but successful vineyard in Georgia. Established in 2015 when Baia was just 22, the company has focused on forging direct contacts with wine shops and restaurants and establishing a niche in the market. Building on her family’s historical involvement in wine production, Baia’s Wine has already achieved success and visibility by winning a silver medal at the Wine Grand Prix in Germany and has sold a large quantity of bottles in its first fiscal year.

Following our silver medal at the Wine Grand Prix in Germany, we are starting to see new potential for both export and tourist opportunities for Baia’s Wine. We would like to expand the vineyard in order to produce more bottles of wine, and we are also considering building a guesthouse in the village. We have already hosted some tourists from across the world, including via our Air BnB listing, but we believe there could be even more opportunities to attract visitors to our village.

We can offer immersion into traditional Georgian life as well as learning about wine production and getting involved in the daily tasks of the farm. This will be beneficial not only for Baia’s Wines but also for the entire village and local economy in general. I see many opportunities for this type of growth in the future.

Development Programme

Embassy of the Netherlands in Georgia in cooperation with Women Business Council in Georgia (WBCG) started six months female business development program. In the framework of the project, selected participants will receive practical knowledge and mentorship by Dutch business expert followed by study visit in Netherlands, where selected participants will have an opportunity to introduce their business activities to potential partners and gain international experience.

In the framework of the project Mentor to Mentee program will be conducted were selected participants will mentor other women entrepreneurs and share gained knowledge.

The Women Business Council in Georgia will cooperate with partner organization Co-Motion Consult in Netherlands. Partners recognize the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs in order to improve their living standards and alleviate poverty in Georgia. Organizations agree about favorable potentialities for strengthening international women entrepreneurship through collaboration between The Netherlands and Georgia with a focus on business innovation, talent development, matchmaking, mentorship and networking.

Co-Motion Consult, working in close collaboration with Nyota for this project, is a consultancy company from the Netherlands with many years of experience in talent training and supporting women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries through connecting these entrepreneurs successfully at international level to other companies and technological and advisory institutes. Its program called the ‘Brilliant Entrepreneur’ includes an intensive process of business development and innovation based on a combination of trainings, matchmaking, technical support and mentorship.

fter graduating from the university, I spent years working at different airlines. Since I always craved to learn, I moved to work at a completely new, startup airline that promised to send us to study abroad, but the airline failed. I was left unemployed for a very long time and went through an extremely difficult period. I remember trying to get a job as a cleaner, but they didn’t hire me. Then I managed to start working as a manager at a travel agency. Later, due to my reputation and authority in the aviation field, one of my acquaintances recommended me and the lady who had founded the BTL company “found” me. It was very hard in the beginning, I didn’t have any business education. I’m a mathematician by profession and that has programmed my brain to systematize everything and taught me to be the best at what I do. Miss Ana, founder of BTL company, was a very good example for me. She had both - the knowledge and the experience. I was in a hopeless situation when I started business. My family depended on me, I had to succeed, or perish. I approached work with great ambition and took it up quickly. It became my goal to become one of the best companies working in Georgia.

2015 წელს პროექტ “Welcome to Georgia”-ს ფარგლებში ჩვენი კომპანია დაჯილდოვდა ნომინაციაში „საუკეთესო ბიზნეს-ტურიტული კომპანია“. 2014 წელს კომპანია დაჯილდოვდა როგორც საუკეთესო MICE კომპანია, რაც ნიშნავს, რომ შეგვიძლია ნებისმიერი მასშტაბის ღონისძიების ორგანიზება.

When we started to work, there were only three of us. Working in the service field is extremely challenging because we don’t have production, there is no product we are selling, our service and the comfort we are to create for people - is our product.

Besides, you come across so many people of different character and you must build relationships with clients in the appropriate manner and be adaptable to each persona. Back then I promised our team that I would do everything in my power to create a different attitude towards us, toward our company.

My main priority is to have all employees satisfied and happy, because if your employees are not happy, they won’t be able to make anyone else happy either. We regularly conduct and attend trainings so that our staff never stops developing and growing.

Our company, BTL Georgia is the founder of BTL Azerbaijan. We only work on the business segment.

We have offices in Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Italy, France and the US. We are also planning to open another branch in Armenia. We are celebrating 7th year of anniversary. During this time, we have been granted the nomination of the Best Business-Tourism Company within the framework of the project “Welcome to Georgia” held in 2015, in 2014 we won the Best MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) Company, which means that we can arrange events of any size.

I don’t think I’ve achieved particular success, despite the fact that the company has 30 million in turnover and some very serious clients working with us; The only piece of advice I can give anyone is - never give up. My friends say I’m a fighter. I never thought I would be one, but I figured I’ve been fighting since the day I left home.

am an English language specialist and have worked as a translator/interpreter for years. Though I have always loved my work, I decided to try to found my own company, through which I would be able to realize my abilities and desires. Creating brand clothes and interior accessories, as well as bed linen of own style and offering to customers is very interesting and difficult at the same time. Implementation of any idea is accompanied by a lot of difficulties, but in spite of this, the experience and pleasure enjoyed in the work process is definitely worth it. As a sophomore at the British-Georgian Academy, my future plans exceed my current occupation with the business. I would love to work as a diplomat, which might not necessarily align with my business; however, I think I will be able to achieve coexistence of my career choices, despite of their differences.

Since I am also a fond of skiing and extreme sports, I decided to create a first Georgian brand, which produces ski and snowboard masks, and I called the brand ‘Montivagant.’ This brand is not only close to my soul but it is as well as practical invention. I, myself am a regular user of this accessory; therefore, since it is not widely available on the Georgian market, I thought it was a great idea to create high quality Georgian product not only for me but also for other winter sport lovers. For this purpose, I studied all the necessary standards before finding the optimal design for it.

My intention was to make a Georgian product that would be successful on the Georgian market and hopefully abroad. Consulting with the competent people in marketing and finances boosted my confidence that my objectives were true. I am happy with my creations and make me feel proud when I wear this Georgian product while skiing.

Currently, Montivagant is producing ski and snowboard masks, and scarfs for adults and kids, which are available for sale at the gallery ‘Qissa’ and online at www.twosix.ge. The company’s goal is to extend, therefore, we are working on our accessories that will make not only our customers happy but also attract others.

As John Muir says: “Mountains are calling and I must go and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly.” I do too also see responsibility and purpose as well as pleasure in the mountains. We, the people of a new generation have a responsibility to create a better future and in order to do so; we must support each other as much as we can because it is vital to develop ourselves and our country.

High school student Ano Charelishvili is the cofounder of the startup that became very popular in short period of time. Being fond of skiing in Gudauri resort brought an idea of producing Hoods. Youngsters prepared business plan, consulted with parents financial related issues and offered us TwoSix on 26 October, 2017. Ano is in the tenth grade at Givi Zaldastanishvili American Academy. She is good at Humanitarian subjects and plans to continue her studies at political sciences.

Despite the fact that the company was established six month ago, TwoSix could negotiate with Juniour Eurovision and became a sponsor. “We tried to develop the business ourselves. Parents helped us to sign relevant documents for establishing the company. In the beginning of September we have started creating the logo, design, dealt with accounting and started sewing hoods.” – Ano Charelishvili The production of TwoSix is made in Georgia. High quality of pattern and modern colors are carefully selected and ordered to be produced at partner sewing factory. Orders are made online and delivered at any destination for only 4 Georgian Lari.

TwoSix instead of plastic bags is using pattern bags that are ecologically clean. ”Giving Back” is the charity campaign of TwoSix. If the customer who wishes to be involved in charity is paying additional 10 Gel, while another 10 Gel is added by TwoSix. 20 Gel in total is transferred to the young girl that suffers with cancer.
