PROGRAMS AT FELLTIMBER - TERM 4, 2023

Culinary Gents

Monday, October 23 – Pasta with home made sauces | Monday, November 20 – Make the best of your barbecue | Monday, December 11 – Prepare for the festive season | 6pm to 8pm | Cost $15 per session. Bookings required.

Enjoy an evening of cooking and socialising just for gents in a relaxed environment at Felltimber Community Centre. Bob Currie will assist you to make easy, tasty and affordable dishes for yourself and others.

Tai Chi

Tuesdays, October 3 to December 5 | 5.30pm to 6.30pm

Thursdays, October 5 to December 7 | 10am to 11am

Cost: $10 per session. Bookings preferred.

Relax, recharge and rejuvenate in a session for all ages. Clear your mind and energise your body as you experience ancient, simple Tai Chi moving meditations drawn from nature. Highly qualified tutor Carol Smith will guide you through the sessions and ensure you have fun while building core strength. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a drink bottle.

Safe Seats, Safe Kids Program

Is your child travelling safely? 70 per cent of child car restraints are incorrectly installed or used, posing a serious safety risk to children travelling in those restraints. Parents and carers (including grandparents!) can book in a free child car restraint fitting or check. Please note, if you need to have more than one child car restraint fitted/checked, you will need to book multiple appointments.

Quilters Connect 4 A Cause

Thursdays weekly from October 5 to December 14 | 10am to 12pm | Cost: Free. Bookings preferred.

Come and join a friendly group as we create quilts to donate to our local community. We have a plentiful supply of fabric and machines so just bring yourself. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Enquiries via the Facebook page facebook.com/craftersconnects4ACause/

Craft ‘n’ Cuppa

Fridays weekly from October 6 to December 15 (excluding Friday, November 24 Wodonga Gold Cup public holiday) | 12pm to 2.30pm | Cost: Gold coin donation optional. Bookings preferred. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon and get crafty with others while sharing or learning new skills. Feel free to bring your own craft project and enjoy a cuppa with friends. Program designed for all ages and abilities. Some materials supplied.

Friday Playgroup

Fridays weekly from October 6 to December 15 (excluding Friday, November 24 Wodonga Gold Cup public holiday) | 9.30am to 11.30am | Cost: $4 per family per session or $30 per term. Bookings preferred.

Friday morning playgroup offers a relaxing, friendly and joyful environment for our children. We welcome all families to come and enjoy a cuppa, meet other families, while the kids get to play.

Around the Campfire

Saturdays weekly from October 7 to December 16 | 3pm to 5pm

Cost: Gold coin donation optional. Bookings preferred. Do you have a song in your heart, a story to tell, a poem, an instrument to play, or simply enjoy active listening and / or joining in sometimes? If you haven’t camped at a folk festival, you may have missed out on the campfire circle experience where people take turns around the circle to share a little about themselves. Connect with others where you will find expression, appreciation, singing, playing instruments, poetry anecdotes, and a cuppa.

Sunday Breakfast

Sunday, October 29 | 9.30am to 11am | Cost: Gold coin donation optional. Bookings required for catering purposes. Please advise of special dietary requirements at time of booking. We may not be able to make you breakfast in bed, but we can spoil you with a free breakfast by the lake. Come along and meet new people, enjoy your breakfast of bacon and eggs with tomato and mushroom bake, and soak up the beautiful surrounds. Kids will be entertained with activities, and you can discover what programs and events are coming up at the centre. Supported by Albury Wodonga Regional FoodShare.

Let the kids get creative in the kitchen in our Kids’ Cooking Club program and keep them entertained over the school holidays. Learn how to cook sweet potato and zucchini muffins and a fruit pastry dessert in this fun session for all abilities. Closed shoes must be worn.

Get Active with Reclink Australia

Felltimber Community Centre: Tuesday, September 19 | 10am to 11.30am

Fancy a free fitness assessment? Or want to try your hand at boxing? Take advantage of a range of activities at the centre which are designed to build your skills and get you active over the school holidays.

Baranduda Community Centre: Tuesday, September 26 | 10am to 12pm

Improve your sporting prowess at this fun-filled session where you will participate in drills of your more traditional sports such as AFL, basketball, rugby, tennis and volleyball. You can test these in a competition style activity before our barbecue lunch. Sports jerseys are welcome!

After School Active NEW PROGRAM

Thursdays weekly from October 5 to December 14

3.45pm to 4.45pm | Cost: Free. Bookings required. Enjoy a range of activities and challenges at the Baranduda Community Centre and surrounding areas with Reclink Australia. There will be physical and recreational activities each week, with afternoon tea provided.

Baranduda Playgroup

Mondays weekly from October 2 to December 18 | 9.30am to 11.30am

Cost: $4 per family per session (first session free).

Connect with others in a space where your children make new friends, develop social skills, and of course, have fun! This is a great opportunity for parents, grandparents, carers and guardians to have a cuppa and meet others in an informal setting. Please bring a hat and your own allergyfriendly snacks. Cuppa, Cake and Conversations

Tuesdays monthly - October 10, November 14, December 12 | 10am to 12pm

Cost: Optional gold coin donation. Bookings preferred for catering purposes. Drop into Baranduda Community Centre and relax with a cuppa, enjoy an activity or game, or bring a project to complete, and meet others in your community. Attend one or attend them all, this is a relaxed environment and all are welcome to drop in at any time during the sessions. Tea, coffee and morning tea provided. Some craft supplies available and sewing machines.

Children’s Sewing with Mary

Wednesday, October 11 and 25, November 8, 22 and 29 | 4pm to 6pm

Cost: $10 per child, per session. | Ages: Eight plus. Bookings required.

These workshops for children provide the opportunity to learn life skills they can use for years to come. The sessions are led by home economics teacher and member of the Country Women’s Association, Mary Grant. The first session is aimed at beginners who can then attend the following sessions aimed at intermediate level sewers.

Movement to Music with Murray Conservatorium

Wednesdays fortnightly - October 4 and 18, November 1, 15, 29, December 13 | 9am to 10am

Cost: $10 per session, $5 per sibling. Free under 12 months. Bookings required.

The Murray Conservatorium will deliver a child-centred and play-based program allowing children to be actively engaged in their musical learning. Children will be exposed to a variety of instruments and will have the ongoing opportunity to play, sing and move to a variety of music.

Folk Art for Beginners

Thursdays weekly from October 5 to December 7 | 12.30pm to 2.30pm | Cost: $10 per person, per session. Full term payment required unless otherwise agreed upon. Bookings required.

Create your own folk art masterpiece with guidance from Baranduda artist Wendy Cummins. By the end of the first term, participants will have developed the basic brush techniques to create daisy paintings. Acrylic paint will be used on a variety of surfaces such as canvas, pottery, metal and more. Come along and be the creative painter you’ve always wanted to be in a supportive and friendly environment. Anyone can paint if they are just shown how.

Come along to our sustainable gift wrapping workshop to learn the art of Japanese Furoshiki (gift wrapping in fabric) utilising fabric you have at home. Please bring any fabric you would like to repurpose, big enough for the item you are wrapping.
