GOD IS FAITHFUL.

One hundred forty-two years since the founding of WMU of Texas, God has continued to allow us to serve Texas through your generosity. This year was a banner year for local missions in this state. Because of your support, we exceeded the $3.5 million goal for the Mary Hill Davis Offering® for Texas Missions and were able to fully respond to each of the 86 ministries requesting funding in 2022.

For example,

• the effort to rehabilitate housing for missionaries in residence in Fort Worth is complete and two families have moved into the duplex,

• two teams built the 12th home through the South Texas Home Build,

• the first Hispanic Families on Mission Conference was held in North Texas,

• Regional Training events were held in Lubbock, Longview, and Lewisville to equip and encourage missions discipleship leaders,

• Texas Christian Job Corps maintained 42 sites with 764 participants, 325 graduates and 51 professions of faith!

As we look toward the future, we are excited about the young adults God is calling out to serve in His name in this state. Our hope is to equip and support them for such a time as this. In 1908, Mary Hill Davis said “Serving this day and generation will either condemn or endow the generations yet to come. But we only serve acceptably when we give ourselves abundantly and unreservedly.” Strengthening our connection to the state Baptist Student Ministries (BSMs) and sharing the Embrace mentoring model for calling out the called will be priorities for us in the coming months.

Thank you for your support of the mission and ministries of WMU of Texas.

To God be the glory for the great things He has done!

With a grateful heart,

TAMIKO C. JONES Executive Director-Treasurer WMU of Texas
