HYMN OF PREPARATION/HINO DE PREPARAÇÃO # 304 “Jesus Loves Me!” SCRIPTURE / LEITURAS BÍBLICAS Psalm of the Day / Salmo do Dia: Psalm 8 Donna Fischer O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? Yet you have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor. You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! SPECIAL MUSIC

THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER Invitation to the Lord’s Table I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, says the Lord God. I will seek the lost and bring back the strayed, I will strengthen the weak and watch over the strong; I will feed you in justice. [Ezek. 34:15-16] I am the bread of life. Those who come to me shall not hunger, and those who believe in me shall never thirst. [John 6:35] Come, taste the kindness of the Lord. [I Peter 2:3] Communion Prayer L: The Lord be with you. L: Lift up your hearts. L: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

P: And also with you. P: We lift them up to the Lord. P: It is right to give God thanks and praise.

It is good to give you thanks, O God, giver of faith. In that faith we worship you, Sovereign, Savior, and Holy Spirit. By faith we know that you created the world and us to care for it. You called Abraham and Sarah in trust to bless the whole earth. Prophets proclaimed your faithfulness and your righteousness. In Christ you give us faith that is sufficient for our obedience. By the Holy Spirit you uphold disciples steadfast. Therefore we praise you with all those before us who believed, who now live with you in heavenly places, and we sing with disciples in every time and place of your glory: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. You are holy and high above us, great and mighty God. Yet in Christ you dwelt among us, human among human beings. In all that Christ was, and said and did, he called people to trust in you and offered us faith that made it possible. Christ’s apostles built up gospel communities in that faith, baptizing, preaching, teaching, celebrating the holy meal, and laying on hands to commission workers for Christ. The Spirit of Christ works in members of Christ’s body that they may embody that faith for one another and share it with the world. In Christ you destine us to believe in your goodness, to trust in your ways and to become good and faithful servants. Because of all that Christ has done on our behalf, we take the bread and the cup to be a holy sacrament among us. Therefore we join with the whole community of faith, proclaiming its mystery: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. By your kindness, gracious God, may the bread we break and the cup we share be for us the body and blood of Christ our savior, restoring us to unity of fellowship and to integrity in serving you. In the midst of a hurting world and in the face of the suffering of multitudes, you are steadfast in strengthening your people for the work of discipleship. Make us your faithful *All who are able, please stand. Congregational readings are printed in bold.

people, unashamed of Christ’s gospel, and confident of your power to guard what you have entrusted to us until the day of Christ’s coming and our feasting with him in glory. Until that day we pray as Christ taught us to pray, saying, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. The Words of Institution The Sharing of the Bread and Cup Prayer of Thanksgiving after the Meal All thanks to you, O faithful One, for Jesus Christ, in whom we trust our lives for all time. We are strengthened by those who have taught us the faith and whose lives are examples of faith. Grant that we may be faithful in our own day, passing on to those in our care the joy of trusting in you. Amen. GIVE THANKS TO GOD / DAR GRAÇAS A DEUS CALL FOR THE OFFERING / OFERTA OFFERTORY *PRAYER OF DEDICATION / ORAÇÃO DE DEDICAÇÃO *CHORAL RESPONSE / RESPOSTA DO CORAL (#428, verse one / versículo um) We give Thee but Thine own, Whate’er the gift may be; All that we have is Thine alone, A trust, O LORD, from Thee. Amen. *AFFIRMATION OF FAITH / AFIRMAÇÃO DE FÉ: The Apostles’ Creed / Credo Apostólico I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty interceding for humanity; In the future he shall return to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
