ADA

n Membership numbers are declining, especially among new dentists. Growing new dentist membership is a top priority for the ADA. n The ADA will be updating its Quarter Year

Recruitment Program to entice nonmembers to join. The MDA will be participating in this program. n ADA SmileCon and the ADA House of Delegates will be held in Houston October 13–15 and 15–18 respectively.

MDA

n The June MDA board meeting featured a presentation from Dr. David Rice (IgniteDDS) on engaging millennial and gen z dentists, leading to a generative discussion on the topic. The MDA is committed to engaging this group that is soon to be the majority of practitioners. n The MDA Board approved funding for: — dental students to attend component meetings; — additional alternate delegates for the ADA House in 2023; — the Member Assistance Program (MAP). The program was previously funded by the MDA Foundation.

WMDDS

n Become a WMDDS Delegate to the MDA House of Delegates—The WMDDS Nominating Committee is seeking WMDDS member dentists who are interested in supporting and advancing the profession of dentistry and the oral health of the residents of the state of Michigan and to establish and support the bylaws and mission statement of the Michigan Dental Association. The 2023 MDA Annual Session and the House of Delegates will be held May 3–6, 2023 at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.
