Other subjects All pupils study History, Geography, Religious Studies, Drama, Physical Education and Games in Key Stage 3. Personal Social and Health Education PSHE is delivered by Form Tutors. Faculty Studies In Years 7 and 8, pupils take an interdisciplinary approach to studying a topic such as ‘Ancient Greece’ or ‘The Renaissance’. This holistic approach enables pupils to step outside narrowly defined, subject-based viewpoints and explore a topic from many different perspectives. Stretch and Support All pupils attend stretch and support classes in English and Maths where they will either receive additional help or be stretched, according to their needs.
Key Stage 4 (14-16) Core subjects All pupils study a core of subjects at GCSE or IGCSE level, including English, English Literature, Maths, History, Science (worth between one and three GCSEs/IGCSEs, depending on the depth of study) and an Ancient or Modern Foreign Language. Options Pupils then choose a further two options from a range of subjects that include an additional Foreign Language, Geography, Religious Studies, Music, Art, Drama, Classical Civilisation and Ancient History. The aim is for all pupils to pass 8-10 GCSEs or IGCSEs, depending on the depth of Science study. Sport All pupils are expected to take part in Physical Education and Games. Special Educational Needs The West London Free School is fully inclusive and makes provision for pupils with SEN. Art Pupils take part in practical, hands-on lessons where they have the opportunity to express themselves and create their own works of art.
