The Mahurin Honors College (MHC) at Western Kentucky University is dedicated to nurturing the leaders, thinkers, and innovators of tomorrow, fostering a vibrant community of lifelong learners who believe in the pursuit of knowledge as a lifelong adventure.
THE MAHURIN HONORS COLLEGE (MHC) is an eclectic and supportive community of scholars who have the opportunity to tailor their college courses by completing a curriculum that emphasizes small group discussion, smaller class sizes, personalized faculty support, and collaborative projects to enhance their critical thinking skills and expand their ability to apply knowledge broadly. Our boutique courses like “Power Trip: Understanding Power in the World Around Us”, “Fact v. Fiction: Discerning Reality”, and “Public Enemies, Prisons and...Tourists” encourage thought-provoking conversations among professors and classmates leading to a deeper understanding of material. These courses include field trips to give students the opportunity to connect the classroom content with the real world.
