Research questions tests, poverty’s impact New research from Stanford University quantifies student learning progress between grades 3 and 8 and also questions whether policy-makers and parents place too much weight on standardized tests and on the assumption that household income is a major factor in educational growth. The deadline to register to vote for the March 20 General Primary Election has passed for inperson registration, according to the Peoria County Board of Election Commissioners, but you can still register online through Monday (March 4). Also, there is “grace period registration” through March 20 at each polling place, says the Commission (www.peoriaelections.org/).
