BRIMFIELD – Despite pointed questions from the audience and an unusual split vote, the village board granted a special use ordinance for the Sprayer Specialties property along U.S. Route 150 to become a mini-storage facility. Owner TRECK LLC must fulfill several specific requirements which were added by the village board at Monday’s regular meeting. After discussing the issue twice, the Zoning Board of Appeals had deadlocked 3-3 and gave no recommendation for the special use. “My greatest concern is that the needs of Brimfield are not addressed by this application,” said Rita Kress, owner and President of Kress Corp. All of that is part of the reason Karen Bishop and her daughter, Courtney Weaver, came up with the idea for a 9foot-tall, all-Farmers Christmas tree. Larger versions of the ornaments are also displayed on the windows at Snips. “My mom really enjoys hand-making Christmas ornaments. Everything we have at our houses and Snips is handmade by her or I,” Weaver said. “This is not something you can find anywhere Continued on Page 8
