Welcome to the largest youth basketball tournament in the nation
Welcome to the 2024 MYAS Grade State Basketball Championships! We deeply appreciate the Minnesota youth basketball community's unwavering commitment to protecting and serving community-based youth basketball programming, which allows participants to represent their district or attendance area within their communities. The Minnesota Youth Basketball Alliance (MYBA) member associations have shown exceptional dedication during the 2023-2024 winter season, always striving to do what benefits all our young participants! It truly is about creating opportunities for all youth basketball athletes, not just the ones who are the "best."
We want to acknowledge the MYBA leaders and volunteer coaches who dedicate countless hours to these young athletes. Our gratitude also extends to the unwavering support from parents. Their involvement both on and off the court is a significant catalyst for the athletes' development and their positive youth basketball experience.
March Mayhem in Minnesota is set to be unleashed, sparking high anticipation! The MYAS full-time staff and part-time tournament directors, along with the dedicated host groups, officials’ assignors, game officials, and EMTs, are fully prepared to provide a safe, uplifting, and thrilling experience for the season's grand finale.
The Grade State Basketball Championship, now in its 34th year, is the anticipated event of the season! As we welcome 1,670 winter youth travel teams from over 170 youth basketball associations across Minnesota, we're excited to spotlight the best in young talent from all levels of play!
For the 5th consecutive year, MYAS is teaming up with Youth 1st to promote sportsmanship before, during, and after each weekend of play. We'll have a Conduct 1st environment at every venue, underlining the significance of positive behavior. We look forward to acknowledging teams with commendable conduct as Youth 1st Team Award winners after the Championships.
The 2024 MYAS/Youth 1st/Conduct 1st environment is committed to promoting sportsmanship, positive fan conduct, and retention of game officials. As a cornerstone of Minnesota's youth sports, MYAS is enthusiastic to positively impact all participants – from young athletes and coaches to parents and officials.
As the record breaking number of teams embark on their quest for the coveted state championship title, MYAS sends heartfelt well wishes. We remind everyone involved – coaches, parents, spectators, and officials – that youth sports aren’t just about winning. It's about the kids. We urge you to keep your competitive energies in check and always extend respect to officials and opponents.
This event is a celebration of the winter-community-based travel basketball and signifies the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season. Let's cherish every remaining practice, game, and tournament. Let's focus on appreciation rather than getting frustrated over things that you cannot control. Remember, our children are looking up to us and relying on us. Let's make every moment count.
