In Honor of

Welcome to the 13th Annual Gopher State Baseball All-Star Series!
This showcase event is a culmination of the 24nd campaign of the 13u-15u Gopher State Baseball League. This event brings together the best youth baseball players from participating teams that stretch across the Twin Cities and into portion of Central and West Central Minnesota. The AllStar Series provides an opportunity for each player, who has been nominated by their coaches and/or peers, to showcase their talents, while meeting players from other teams and forge friendships both on and off the field, while being recognized for their accomplishments during the 2023 community-based traveling baseball season.
The MYAS would like to thank our host partners, Anoka-Ramsey Baseball, Andover HS Baseball Boosters, Coon Rapids Baseball, Soderville Baseball, who through their hard work and efforts from many volunteers that make it possible. Everyone is looking forward to showcase their community fields during this great event and weekend of baseball.
The 2023 All-Star Series boasts 519 participants (Biggest Ever!). All participants were nominated by their coaches and/or teammates to represent their team, association and community during All-Star Weekend. Each player will receive some All-Star swag (hat and bag tag) to recognize their participation in this culminating event. On Saturday evening of the Series, All-Star players and coaches will also be recognized on beautiful CHS field prior to the St. Paul Saints vs. Toledo Mudhens baseball game.
Congratulations to all participants! Enjoy the weekend!
It is with great sadness that the MYAS has learned of the sudden passing of Michael N. Anderson on May 20, 2021. Michael was a longtime member of the Shoreview Area Youth Baseball organization and a truly remarkable advocate for youth and high school baseball across the state of Minnesota. He volunteered countless hours on and off the field to provide opportunities for youth through the Shoreview Area Youth Baseball and Fridley Legion programs.
In addition to his commitment to providing opportunities within the communities of Shoreview, Arden Hills, North Oaks, and Vadnais Heights, Michael also holds a special place with MYAS/Gopher State because of his dedication to our community-based program and the countless hours he provided our organization from 2007-2021.
Michael was a founding member of the Gopher State Baseball Board of Advisors, which serves as a neutral body that assists the MYAS baseball staff with guidance on rules, regulations, programming, and specialty events, such as the Gopher State Baseball All-Star Series. Anderson, along with a few other board members, helped the MYAS baseball staff to place 13u-15u AllStar nominees onto the appropriate teams during the first few years of the Series’ existence. The biggest asset the Board of Advisors provided was establishing a Team Classification Policy for the Gopher State Baseball League. Michael was a big contributor in creating those policies and attended nearly every petition hearing by associations and/or teams in person, virtually, or via email, since this policy was enacted in 2007.
Anderson’s greatest attribute over the years has been not only that he was always looking out for what was best for Shoreview Area Youth Baseball, but he also wanted what was best for the entirety of Minnesota’s community-based youth baseball programming.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s family and friends. He will always be remembered for his selfless and continuous efforts to advance youth baseball in the communities that he served, and also his passion for youth baseball throughout his years as an administrator, mentor, beloved coach, and friend of the youth baseball community. He was truly a genuine person, and was respected and admired by all of us at the MYAS. He will be greatly missed!
The MYAS/Gopher State is committed to fulfilling the family’s request to create a youth baseball scholarship and an area youth baseball field in his name. Moving forward, the MYAS also intends to memorialize his legacy to youth baseball by naming specific Gopher State Baseball events in his honor.

All-Star Coaches should be in contact with each rostered player. All teams can schedule up to two practices prior to July 29th. Players are under no obligation to attend the practice but it may help the team and the coaches if there was full participation in these practices prior to the competition. Missing a practice will not impact playing time during the All-Star Series.
Two Games on Saturday, July 29
* 15AAA and 15AA will play one game in addition to Combine Testing
All teams will participate in two games on Saturday. Schedules will be available in the All-Star Series Fan Guide and can also be communicated through your head coach. NOTE: PLAYERS SHOULD BE IN THEIR OWN FULL TEAM UNIFORM (All-Star hats will be provided).
It should also be understood that the MYAS Baseball Staff and/or hosting organizations listed above have the authority to modify any portion of the tournament.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the MYAS office by calling (763) 746-1728 or emailing ac@myas.org.
