Fastener Update
Threaded Fasteners acquires OEM that makes threaders
Threaded Fasteners, Inc. (TFI), has acquired RTC Threaders, a U.S. manufacturer of planetary threading equipment.
A report at the TFI website said that RTC Threaders, founded in 1971 by Jack Pease, is directed by his son, Rick Pease, who will continue in that role. Also making the transition is long-term business associate Chuck Wilcoxson, who was described as being an integral part of the success of RTC.
“We are thrilled to have Rick and the RTC team join the TFI Family,” said TFI President Billy Duren. “Over the course of several months of conversations, both Rick and I began to see the value of combining our efforts and knowledge by making RTC part of the family of companies owned by TFI.”
Pease said the deal was a good cultural fit for RTC and TFI, and that it will also enable him to continue to do what he loves: building machines. RTC’s line of single- and double-end Eagle planetary threaders have been labeled “the forever machine.” Observed TFI Manufacturing Operations Manager Randall Connor, “These machines are fast, durable and customizable; for those not familiar with the fastener machine world; they are the Lamborghini of threading machines.”
The machines are manufactured, assembled, and distributed from the RTC manufacturing facility and warehouse in Churubusco, Indiana. RTC will continue operations in Northern Indiana as in the past, serving clients throughout the U.S. and internationally. RTC offers a complete line of planetary threaders with bending options as well as a complete line of automated bar shears. TFI specializes in manufacturing, custom packaging and distribution of high-quality steel fasteners such as tower and electric utility bolts, anchor bolts, A325 structural bolts, A394 tower bolts, nuts, washers and more. The company operates a five-acre manufacturing plant in Semmes, Alabama, with an additional manufacturing facility in Tampa, Florida, where anchor bolts and specialty headed products are built.
