Since 1975, Winston Furniture has created casual outdoor furniture that caters to the style-conscious consumer who seeks the best in quality manufactured products. Through the merging of modern and traditional manufacturing technologies, Winston creates eclectic product offerings utilizing the most durable materials for outdoor application. For 2012, we are proud to introduce a product line that will offer consumers a wide variety of options in furniture styles from contemporary to traditional. The new designs are offered in cushion, sling and cast aluminum with the focus not only on style but comfort as well. The fabric selection for 2012 is the largest offering ever with more than 150 fabrics. The alternative table top offering has expanded and includes additional sizes. Winston Finishes - Beyond What You See. What makes Winston’s frame finishes so durable and long- lasting has more to do with what we do to prepare the frames than the end results. A superior finish begins with the preparation of the surface area. It begins with cleaning the aluminum frames. The “Primer System” Winston utilizes is a 7-step process that takes approximately 45 minutes to complete per frame. First, each frame receives an alkaline bath that degreases and etches the frame. Two, clean water rinses follow to remove the alkaline residue as well any etched particles.

Next, a chrome phosphate conversion coating is applied that seals the frame and prevents the formation of corrosion. This step is followed by two additional clean water rinses in preparation for the final stage. During the final stage, each frame is “deionized” which removes any mineral deposits that might be left from any of the prior stages. This step also provides a greater bonding surface of the aluminum for optimal adhesion of the powder paint.

The Big Finish Winston’s finishes begin as a very fine, electrostatic polyester powder that is sprayed onto the frame. The powder is “charged” so that the powder attaches to the frame much like metal to a magnet. This provides complete and even coverage of the powder. Once covered with the powder, the frames enter a large oven area whereby the frames are heated to a very high temperature which melts the powder. The oven process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete resulting in a durable, baked on finish.

Premium Finishes Depending on the finish, Winston’s premium finishes are all hand-applied by very skilled artists. The finishes are completed in various steps and depending on the actual finish, involve the use of application tools from specialized brushes to cloths.

Standard Finishes Although Winston’s Standard Finishes involved only one application, many of the frames contain several components that meld together to achieve the desired looks. Some of the standard finishes contain as many as 5 different color components. Some of the finishes are textured, while others are smooth or hammered, like the Antigua and Patina Finishes.

Regardless of the finish chosen, rest assured they will be very durable and effective in protecting your furniture for many years of enjoyment.

Fine outdoor furniture deserves exceptional care. Winston furniture can be enjoyed for many years when well maintained. Wash the furniture with a solution of mild detergent and water, rinse with clear water and dry thoroughly. A clear automobile wax can be applied to smooth frame finishes to provide better protection against harmful ultraviolet exposure and salt air. DO NOT use any kind of wax, abrasive materials or strong detergents on Select finishes.

To vinyl, strap and sling seating surfaces, apply a quality vinyl protectant to guard against the effects of air pollution, salt air build-up, and mildew growth.

Wash outdoor cushions with a solution of mild detergent and water and thoroughly rinse with clear water. Allow cushions to air dry completely.

For best protection, perform this maintenance two to three times a year, although these durable materials can be safely cleaned as often as desired.

Light stains can be removed with a solution of mild detergent and water, rinsed with clear water and dried thoroughly. Mildew and heavy stains can be removed with a quality commercial outdoor furniture cleaner and protectant.

Note: Some suntan and sun block products may be harmful to cushions, sling and vinyl and straps. Do not allow such products to come in contact with any seating surfaces to avoid deep penetrating stains, which are not covered under warranty.

Do not steam or use water at temperatures above 100°F when washing.

Woven Vinyl Fabrics Woven Vinyl fabrics are made from Weather Weave, an open weave, vinyl-coated, polyester fiber fabric. Weather Weave is similar to the material used in tire cord, bonded so it will not unravel if cut. Especially designed for outdoor use, Weather Weave dries quickly and can be left out in any kind of weather. Ultraviolet stabilizers have been added to inhibit fading, deterioration and mildew. Weather Weave fabric cushions will provide many years of outdoor pleasure.

Mix three gallons of warm water with one cup of household bleach and one cup mild laundry detergent. Apply with soft brush or cloth and rinse well. DO NOT USE SOLVENT-TYPE MATERIALS, THEY WILL DAMAGE THE YARNS. Woven Blend Fabrics Woven Blend is a blend of polyester and solution-dyed acrylic that has a soft hand and dries quickly when saturated with water. They are very useful as an umbrella fabric, and provide excellent sun blocking protection.

Wash with a solution of soap or mild detergent and warm water. Sponge thoroughly with water and allow to air dry. For more stubborn stains, mix three gallons of warm water with one cup of household bleach and one cup of mild laundry detergent.. DO NOT USE SOLVENT-TYPE MATERIALS, THEY WILL DAMAGE THE YARNS.

Ultra Woven Blend Fabrics Ultra Woven Blend has twice the vertical yarns as Woven Blends, offering richer, more vibrant patterns and colors. They are useful as an umbrella fabric as well and provide excellent sunblocking protection.

Woven Acrylic Poly Fabric Woven blend of polyester and 100% solution dyed acrylic which provides a soft hand. Attractive features include inherent durability, long term UV resistance and ease of clean up. Recommended for both indoor and outdoor use.

Woven Acrylic Fabric Acrylic Fabric is 100% solution dyed and provides a soft hand, having the look and feel of cotton. Acrylic fabrics are recommended for both indoor and outdoor use. Acrylics are the most durable outdoor fabrics because of their UV fastness and their ease of cleanup.

Extruded Aluminum Frame – Fifteen Years If the extruded aluminum furniture frame fails structurally (i.e. broken frame or welds) within 15 years from the date of purchase, we will replace, repair or refinish the frame in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

Paint Finish – Five Years If finish blisters or peels within five years from the date of purchase, Winston will repair or refinish the frame in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

Vinyl Strap – Five Years If a strap breaks within five years from the date of purchase, a replacement strap will be sent directly to you, upon receipt of the broken strap, in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. If a strap becomes faded or mildewed within two years from the date of purchase, a replacement strap will be sent directly to you, upon receipt of the faded or mildewed strap, in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

Fabric on Cushions, Slings and Umbrellas – Two Years If the fabric on a cushion, sling or umbrella tears, mildews or fades excessively within two years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace the fabric in the original color and pattern if available, or in a similar color and pattern if the original has been discontinued.

Umbrellas and Umbrella Bases – Two Years If an umbrella or umbrella base fails structurally within two years from the date of purchase, we will, at factory option, repair or replace the umbrella or umbrella base, in the original color and style if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

Woven Components – Three Years If a woven component fails structurally (i.e. broken frame, welds, or resin), or if the weave unravels or fades excessively within three years from the date of purchase, we will replace, repair or refinish the product in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

Composite Table Tops – Two Years If a composite table top or copper top fails structurally within two years from the date of purchase, we will, at factory option, repair or replace the table top, in the original color and style if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. Some of the table tops have painted decorations which may fade when exposed to direct sunlight. This fading is excluded from the warranty. See other exclusions below.

Cast Aluminum Tops – Three Years If a cast aluminum top fails structurally within three years from the date of purchase, we will, at factory option, repair or replace the table top, in the original color and style if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. Some of the table tops have painted decorations which may fade when exposed to direct sunlight. This fading is excluded from the warranty. See other exclusions below.

Component Parts – One Year If a component part (glides, bolts, wheels, etc.) fails due to manufacturing defects within one year from the date of purchase, we will, at factory option, repair or replace the part, in the original color and style if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

Shipping If required, Winston will pay for shipping to and from the dealer (for frames) of damaged or replacement products for a period of three years from the date of purchase. If the product is warranted for a period of less than three years (fabrics, etc.) Winston will pay for shipping of the damaged or replacement product during the warranty period.

This warranty is a limited warranty, and applies to the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase is required. Warranty coverage begins on the date of purchase. This is a residential warranty and does not apply to commercial use.

Note: Winston or its suppliers may discontinue any component parts such as fabric, paint, etc., at any time.

Winston reserves the right to determine whether to replace, repair or refinish and mode of transportation of authorized returns.

Exclusions Failure caused by unreasonable or abusive use, fire, freight damage, acts of nature (such as, but not limited to freezing or high winds), suntan oil or other chemicals, normal fading, scratching or chipping of the finish, fading, weathering or staining or discoloration of furniture, accidental damage repair or modifications by consumer, glass breakage, commercial use, normal wear and tear are excluded from the warranty. Steel furniture is not warranted against rust.

Winter Storage All furniture should be stored in an upright position to allow for proper water drainage. Storing furniture upside-down may cause water to accumulate and freeze inside the frame, causing serious structural damage that is not covered by the warranty.
