How to blog Firstly find a blogging host site such as www.blogger.com Create an account or you may already have an account pre-made for you – your teacher will tell you. Title the blog something like the following; “A2 Pop Video – Joseph Bloggs, Gary Hadfield” Email your URL link to your teacher for their records.

How to export a video for blog • Make sure project is saved • Make sure work area covers the whole of your work and everything is rendered • File/export/windows media • Pal 512 • Output name/name • Save in same place as project (yellow bit) • Video/audio tick • Video (allow interlace should be off) • Click Ok • Media encoder starts up • Click start queue –film should convert • Do not close down premier until conversion is complete

Storyboards/videos of locations/props etc Use the Lumix cameras or your own stills camera to make short video clips. Keep them short to help with uploading times. Upload to Youtube. Roughcuts You need to export the timeline as a windows media file. (SEE BELOW) Save it Upload to youtube Once you have uploaded to YouTube read the advice How to embed YouTube video into your blog

How to embed YouTube videos into your blog • • • • • • •

Open up your blog Get to the post page In a separate Window, go to YouTube and select your video. Look at the right of the video for the box marked EMBED Click on this to highlight it, copy this code. Go back to your blog, and click on html tab Paste in your embed code, you are now ready to “Publish”.

If your video has copyright issues – your audio has been recognized as copyrighted material. I’d recommend trying to upload the video again but this time change your privacy to “Unlisted”. Failing that try the same thing but with a new YouTube account.


Creating an Audio File • • • • • • • • • • • •

In premiere go to project/project settings/scratch disks Make sure all are set to ‘same as project’ Create a title (file/new/title) Place title on the timeline on a video track Stretch it out to the full length of the clip Do not render Make sure project is saved Make sure work bar covers the whole of your work File/export/windows media Change format to .WAV or .MP3 Choose a suitable Name and Save Location (writing in yellow) Click Ok - This will begin “Media Encoder”

Click start queue – the file should convert. • Do not close down premier until conversion is complete Uploading Audio Files to the Internet • • • • •

After creating your audio file, go to www.soundcloud.com and Sign Up After you’ve created your account and verified it by email; click Upload & Share Next select your file and Upload it – bear in mind you get 2 hours of space. After it has uploaded you can “Embed” the file; go to a tab called “You”. Click “Share” on the file you wish to embed on your blog, choose “Blogger” and copy and paste the HTML Code into the HTML window of your blog post. Usually looks something like this;
