Sharing is Caring... In the win vs Crown College, the Warriors tied their season high in assists with 17. Leading the Warriors in assists was freshman Gavyn Hurley with four. Adelodun Action... Olumide Adelodun has made an instant impact for the Warriors returning from injury and seeing action for the first time this year. In his first two appearances he is averaging 8.5 ppg, good for third on the team.

History vs. Wolves... The Warriors hold a 6-11 record vs. Northern State, dating back to January 2, 2009. The Warrior's last win vs. NSU came on Jan. 22, 2021 in the annual “I Hate Winter” game in Aberdeen; WSU beat NSU 83-74. Road Trips... Winona State heads on a four-game road trip where they travel to Bemidji and Crookston Jan. 12-13, as well as Minot State and Mary on Jan. 19-20. Combined, the weekends represent the two longest trips of any team in the NSIC. One’sies, Two’sies... Winona State will play NSU twice this year - home and away - after several seasons of seeing the Wolves just once on the NSIC schedule.

Dillon continues to climb the WSU all-time scoring ranks heading into Saturday’s game against Northern State. Currently No. 33 with 1,042 points, Dillon can surpass Eric Plitzuweit (1,059 / 1991-95) Declan Dillon was just one rebound away from a double-double versus Wisconsin Parkside on Dec. 31, scoring 11 points and grabbing nine rebounds. He also led the team in assists with four. Olumide Adelodun made his second appearance of the season for Winona State against Crown College, scoring 13 points, notching two assists, and grabbing a rebound in 18 minutes of action off the bench. No Warrior player was tagged for more than two fouls against UW-Parkside, one of their most disciplined performances of the year. With Connor Dillon’s triple early in the first half against the Polars on Tuesday, WSU men’s basketball has now hit a 3-pointer in 700 straight games, dating back to Nov. 29, 2000. The national record for team consecutive 3-pointers is UNLV, a program that has hit a 3-pointer in 1,204 consecutive games. The Running Rebels and Princeton (1030 games) are the only NCAA Division I teams to hit a 3 in every game since the 3-point line was introduced in the 1986-87 season. Brock Voigt currently has a career rebound mark of 504. The former NCAA DIII standout from UW-Eau Claire has 936 career points (864 UWEC / 72 WSU). Connor Drew is second on the team in total points scored this year with 153 overall. Drew and topscorer Connor Dillon (290 points) are the only two Warriors who have hit triple-digits in scoring so far this year. Drew Adams has appeared in all 13 Winona State contests this season, all in sixth-man fashion.

MBB: LAST TIME OUT Winona State men's basketball defeats Crown College, 90-69 Devon Fielding helped Winona State enjoy a hot start, scoring a pair of buckets sandwiched around a Connor Dillon drive in the lane to push WSU ahead 6-0 in the first few minutes of play. After a brief resurgence by Crown College cut the Warrior lead to 9-4, Connor Dillon hit his first 3-pointer of the evening to push the Warrior advantage to 12-4. Dillon's triple marked the WSU-Crown College contest as the 700th consecutive game in which WSU has hit a three-pointer, as noted by HBC commentator Justin Barrientos. The last time WSU went without a bucket from beyond the arc was a Nov. 29, 2000 contest against Saint Mary's, a 7957 Warrior win. Following Dillon's benchmark three-pointer, Winona State would go on to pull away in the first half, with Carter Lomas heating up midway through the opening 20 minutes. Lomas would score eight points in quick succession, including a pair of three-pointers in a three-minute span that combined with a Brock Voigt layup for a 16-point Warrior lead at 29-13. Olumide Adelodun and Jordan Wilkins connected on scoring plays as the first half wound down, with Adelodun's fastbreak layup coming courtesy of a Gavyn Hurley steal with under 90 seconds to play. WSU would conclude the half by hitting 19-of-29 (65.52%) from the floor. At The Half: Winona State 47, Crown College 24 Although the visiting Polars were able to match Winona State bucket-for-bucket in the first few minutes of the second half, WSU would go on a 9-2 run starting with 16 minutes to go to pull ahead for good. Devon Fielding and Gavyn Hurley helped the Warriors to stretch their lead to 28 points by the 11-minute mark and Lomas would add back-to-back triples inside of seven minutes to help him reach a team-high 17 on the night. Drew Adams would put an exclamation point on the Warrior evening with a dunk at the 1:24 mark, with Lomas notching the assist on the play. Winona State put the Polars away with a 90-69 final scoreline, with the Warriors moving to 9-4 overall on the year. WSU Stat Standouts Carter Lomas, 17 points, 6-of-9 from the field, 5-of-7 from 3-point distance. Olumide Adelodun, 13 points, 6-of-9 from the field, 2 assists.
